  • Sometimes I'm so furious thinking of the way she died. It was such a stupid death! Of course, medicine was not very evolved back then, but still, her death could have been avoided some way or another. I keep imagining from time to time how her later movies would have been like and I can't feel but sadness when I think that no matter how much I want, I will never see her an older person... RIP, Jean.

    And lovely vid! xoxo

  • love me some jean harlow.....what a beauty so sad she passed away at an

early age........rip baby your the best!!!!!!!

  • Jean Harlow is one of my favorites too. You did a fabulous job.

    -------Ellen

  • Stevie Wonder & Jean Harlow: two of my all time favorites, how "lovely"!

  • NICE BITCH !

  • she was cute (frankly I don't think she was very pretty but she had something, she had a distinctive charm, she was very sweet, childlike...)

  • Really?...I thought she was gorgeous...she had the most beautiful blue eyes....

  • My aunt Jeanne was named after her!

  • funny how marilyn wanted to be harlow & now everyone is fascinated with monroe

  • She--like Monroe--made such a huge, lasting impact in such a short number of years. I hope she and Marilyn are good friends in heaven as they would have been on earth. Both such angels--sexy angels--but angels nonetheless! Nice video.

  • Great song choice, love it! :o)

  • @lovemymomma Thanks!!!! :)

  • She left us much too soon. I mention Harlow in The Celebrity Song.

  • i named my kitty after her!!! (harlow)

  • jean, marlyn and jannie manfield melt an early death so sad

  • @ilikesexyness1000 yes, jean at age 26, marilyn 36 and jayne 34 (i think)

  • She is my inspiration. I had a dream about her and then I drew her from the polar bear pic. Every since, my portrait career took off! She is my touch stone. How can one life be filled with so much pain. Her family were all leeches and Powell was a jerk. He could have taken her away from the leeches by marrying her. I don't buy the "Lombard made him gun shy" argument. Lombard was a tough broad (in the best use of the word). Harlow was a tender, fragile girl that never had a chance.

  • Yes, she is lovely. You did a good job with this video!

    ------Ellen

  • @Shabannie Thank u soo much!!

  • I have a picture of her where she's standing in front of her big White Mansion and when I look at I think "Aaah! I was on the sidewalk just a few feet from where she's standing!" well not a few feet. The driveway is pretty long. LOL!

  • There is a quote by Mr. Gable about Jean. I think it goes something like this:

"She didn't want to be famous. She just wanted to be loved."

I believe that to be so true because I have read that her mom pushed her into the movies. Jean didn't want anything to do with the business, but maybe what made her stay in it was because she wanted her mom's approval and love.

  • A lovely moving tribute.I read Clark Gable's biography and the story of Jean Harlow's tragic death was chronicled in it.

I have a black and white photo of her in my bedroom.

A true stylish icon. She will live on in people's hearts.

  • I have always loved watching Jean on screen. She was a funny and talented woman, and had she lived in today's world she certainly would have lived past 26!

    XOXO

  • Great tribute! The more I see Jean, the more I'm saddened by her early death. She was wonderful onscreen!

  • Thank you for the tribute to Jean. It was lovely. Great song choice.

  • :) Thank you for your comment.

  • And I visited Clark Gable, too. I love him! all in all, a very beautiful experience. And Gable and Harlow in a movie? Forget it! Nothing can compare!

  • Have you read Clark Gable's biography,bettiep?

    I can recommend it.

  • I've read one of them. I think it was published in the 1970's. I know that there are a few out there. Which one have you read?

  • We went to Hollywood last month...and I will never forget it. Never. My husband and I went to Forest Lawn where she is resting, I walked up to the little chapel where her service was held..and well let me just say that it was surreal, wonderful, and peaceful. I just imagined all of the stars there that day when she was laid to rest. But the best part was going into the Grand Masoleum and visiting HER. I spoke a few words and cried. I will never forget it.

  • And your remembrance of her made me cry.

  • I would definitely visit her grave site if I could. I know shes not there, but it would be great to see her body is located. She is definitely someone whom I want to meet in Heaven.

    Love You Baby.

  • what a moving experience for you.

I am sure she is in a better place than this cruel world.

  • Oh yes! It WAS a wonderful and beautiful experience! Yeah I know, I'm gushing! But it was. I want to go back real soon.

  • If you get back, send my prayers to her?

Re: Clark Gable biog.-it was titled "Clark Gable"

and had a black and white photo of him on the cover. Have you read Lauren Bacall's autobiog.

    "By Myself"?

  • Oh yes I definitely will send her your prayers. and yes that's the bio I read of Clark gable. It was great! I loved seeing the pics of him when he was really younng. As for "By Myself" I sort of just skimmed through it. I did read about her and Bogie falling in love eachother. I guess they were really in love!

  • Try and read the Lauren Bacall book if you can,its riveting. She's a heroine of mine, along with Chrissie Hynde.

    Both strong women.

  • she always seems so happy, absolutely stunning. i love her smile! great vid

  • If only she had been happy. She was a sweet girl, everybody who knew her adored her. It's too bad she had a tough, short life. The whole Paul Bern story was bizarre.

  • Jean Harlown is one of the most beautiful

    woman of all time.

  • Harlow is The Original Blonde Bombshell. Marilyn admitted that Harlow was her ideal, when she was creating her persona. Sadly, both their lives were also connected to tragedy. They were both miles above any "sex symbols" we have today. Nobody can compare to either of them.

  • I totally agree!!!

  • I recently saw the movie The Girl From Missouri with her in it, and I loved it. But Marilyn is still my favorite. I have spent alot of money on my Marilyn collection and I just adore her. But Jean is gorgeous and great.

  • IM working on a video of her it takes some time but let me say I wish I could have thought of that song that was clever! love it

  • Thank you!!! Im looking forward to your video!! :D

  • I remember getting hooked on Harlow years ago. Then I decided I'd check info out on her out at the library (no internet in the library yet, it was 1996/1997), thinking if she was dead it would be of old age or something like that... I was sad to learn she died in her prime!

Thanks for the video. And to top it off, I love Stevie Wonder, too. :-)

  • You are welcome Im glad you liked it. I've been a big Harlow fan for a long time too. She was amazing, so sad she passed on soooo young! :( But we remember her in videos like these!! :)

  • Woow! Just wow. Harlow was magnificent. What movie is her and Gable at 1:45, that posing at 2:35 has me amazed, the next picture too, the girl had a style way ahead of her time, as a black man I would probably get lynched back then by looking at her but I would indeed. Love Harlow, so sad she went so early.

  • The movie @ 1:45 was "Red Dust", later remade in 1953 as "Mogambo" with Ava Gardner in the Harlow role. Nowhere near as fabulous as the original.

  • The song and the pictures go well together. Great job! :)

  • Thanks!!! :)

  • The original Blond Bombshell! She paved the way for the rest of em'!

  • You bet your butt she did...LOL I totally agree!

  • The early movie stars had style. I've given you five stars, please check out my silent movie memorabilia vids (includes wallace beery)

    when you have time.

  • Thank you!!!

  • i love it the original before Marilyn

  • Thank You!!!! ~Jen

  • What can I say, Jean Harlow.."sigh"

Thank you for a lovely tribute to a Hollywood legend.

  • Thank you!!

  • yes, stevie wonder, she IS lovely. thanks for posting such a beautiful tribute :)

  • Thank you!! :)

  • This is great. Now everytime I hear this song, I'll be thinking about Jean Harlow.

  • Thanks, I do the same thing now...LOL glad you enjoyed it!

  • Wonderful tribute to the great Ms. Harlow! She was truly ahead of her time...Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks so much! You are quite welcome!

  • If I were you, I'd change the music.

  • Good thing you're not her - she made a lovely choice. Troll, go back under the rock you were under. Tired old thing.

  • Why are you calling me a troll? What have I done?

I like the video. I had a opinion on the music. Is that a crime? No one is allowed to tell their opinions on anything? It's a good song, but I think other songs could've been used.

I'm a Jean Harlow fan. I have all of her movies and seen them all. She was a pretty woman. Its the way she went so young. Her mother was dumb to let her die and not take her to a doctor.

  • Well let me know if you a better song that would suit her, I mean 25 Comments can't be wrong right? I guess the 2700 people thougt it was good enough. That's all Im saying, sorry you didn't like the music.

  • Of course people are allowed to have their opinion. But, you have to be careful about the way you word things. I'm sure Jennifer worked very hard on this and it's a beautiful tribute. You could've stated, "Gosh, great song. I'd like to see what it would be like if such and such a song were played." Then you list your faves. That's all. Who knows, one of the songs you may have listed would've been another great choice for a different Jennifer montage.

  • Thanks Michelle for your support, that was very nice of you!!!!! :)

  • It's a popular myth that Harlow's mother, a follower of Christian Science, prevented doctors from attending to her dying daughter. Records show that Jean was indeed under medical care, but her kidneys had been deteriorating ever since she had scarlet fever in her teens. In the days before dialysis and transplants, there was nothing doctors could do for her. It's also a myth that Harlow's kidneys were damaged in a beating from husband Paul Bern.

  • Well thank you MichelleHayworth!!

  • @MichelleHayworth I agree...the music is PERFECT!

  • What a terrific video montage and set to such a beautiful Stevie Wonder song (one of my faves). Harlow was the original "Blonde Bombshell" but to those of us who love her, we know she was so much more. Miss you dearly, Miss Harlow.

  • Good combination.

  • Thank you!! :)

  • What a treat. Thank you so much. The music and clips were absolutely perfect. I'm sending this to my long-time friend who has always adored Jean.

  • Thank you so much! :)

  • OMG this is BEAUTIFUL! I love this song too - always have, it works so perfectly with this. Wonderful work! :_)

  • Thank you for the "lovely" comment! :)

  • What a lovely tribute, Jennifer. I'm going to link to it on my Jean Harlow Platinum Page blog at jeanharlow dot org so more fans can see it. :) Thanks! Lisa

  • Ohhh thank you so much! Im so glad you enjoyed it that much!!! :) Im going to check the website to see it!! Thanks again!! Wow!!!!

  • It's on the blog portion of the site (see left menu and click on "blog") :) Thanks again!

  • awesome vid I love Harlow they really need to come out with a movie about her life soon.

  • I totally agree! They also need to come out with box set of her! What a lady! And thank you, I'm glad you liked the video!

  • she died so young..

    but now she's a legend!!!!

    i love her!

  • Yea I love her too! She is a legend! It is a shame she died so young, she could of went on to make more great movies! We need a box set of her!!!! :)

  • what movie is the clip @ 1:45 from?

  • "Red Dust" with Clark Gable...great movie btw!!

  • She would have been an old, old lady of 96 now if she hadn't died that long ago...

  • Thanks for the clips , she was so modern and cool well you know.

  • Great yet tragic 20's actress who sadly died of kidney failure at age 26. I appreciate this tribute thanks.

  • Your welcome!!

  • I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my latest one on some top 1930's movie star legends on trading cards. They include: Clark Gable, James Cagney, Mae West, Marlene Dietrich, Maurice Chevalier, Gary Cooper, Buster Keaton, Lilian Harvey, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford ....

  • It's a good idea to put this music of Stevie Wonder on this tribute to Jean Harlow. It's charming.Good job.

    Thank.

    Deketelaere-Ciccione.

  • Thank you! I thought it suit her-she was lovely!!

  • Thank you ladies!!!

  • yup! she was and still is lovely!

  • I doubt that she "still is" lovely- she's a bit decomposed and rather smelly by now, I imagine.

I'm kidding of course- I agree, Jean Harlow was beautiful.

  • Hmmm....what's left of her is just a (maybe a beautiful) skeleton...nothing more...her flesh has been decomposed a long long time ago ...

  • Well actually She WAS Lovely...how's that?

  • yep, she sure was! Who do you think is today's jean harlow?

  • NO ONE!!! Nobody can can even get close to her. She was one of a kind! Like Lombard, Crawford Davis, today they all look the same!!

  • Guess they don't make them anymore like Jean huh? Well, somebody say Nicole Kidman had something...but I don't know...

  • gong li

  • Nobody is today's Harlow! No way! They can only imitate.

  • Very pretty!

  • lovely!
