Every one of DCFC's songs captures a certain time of my life and makes me remember things like where, when, and who for me. This music evokes very powerful and sometimes sad emotions from me and I don't know if that's good or bad. I can sometimes get very sad listening to this music and it makes me often wish I could turn back time.
just stumbled upon this video while looking for another band :P clicked it cos i realised they're supporting Foo Fighters on the 2nd of July and i'm gonna be there! :D
Such a killer version of this song. I love how walla plays Emaj7 while (correct me if I'm wrong... kind of just going by ear w/ this one... And I didn't take music theory..) ben plays a variation of a B. That's not in the original version. I thoroughly enjoyed it... Even more so than the studio recording.
I feel that unlike most bands nowadays,Death Cab are in sync. When I hear and see them playing in sessions like this, you can really tell that each instrument compliments the others whereas with some bands,I feel like they're all playing seperately, competing with each other. Another reason They're my favorite band.
I still belive this is the best album they have written, It always makes me feel at home when i listen to Your Bruise, or Amputations, or any song from Something About Air Planes, New Listeners go buy Something about airplanes, its worth every cent.
@PaigeandRowanne Eh holmes, I find their older shit waay better then their new stuff and since you love this song i thought ud like some of their other old albums just in case you havent heard them, forbidden love ep is awesome, same with photo album , my favourite is we have the facts and were voting yes which goes back to 2000 i believe check it out and enjoy :D!
wow he was skinny when he first started, got a little big, and now he's back to the same size, and replaced the glasses with contacts, amazing ! haha been a fan for years
It is so amazing to watch Ben and Chris switch off the guitar parts in this song, each one taking a differrent role at one time, and then going back and doing the other's part until it comes around again.
baaah i think i'm just going to die of happiness right now.
this gave me goosebumps, too. i love all of their stuff. . .except Bixby Canyon Bridge. that song annoys me so much, and i don't know why, and it makes me sad because DCFC is my all-time favorite.
@sydneyrhxoxo For real... It's a shame Narrow Stairs didn't sound more like that and I Will Possess Your Heart. Those two songs were such departures, but it's like they got exhausted by the drastic change that they revert back to the same ol' past track 2. For the most part anyway. That second to last song is in the same league I would say too, maybe.
dawoodman619, you can download a free program called tube tilla, it turns videos into mp3's. Just google it up, it MIGHT take a while to download but my computer is a piece of shit so it might go better for you lol.
this version is so much better than the album version, I love the way they are playing their old songs in their more modern style, it sounds a lot better to me. oh and Ben looks good in this video and the other similar ones.
The first verse seems to be about the girl he's writing about being so caught up in the future that she is incapable of creating/sustaining a relationship in the present. The Plymouth is a car reference. Mary Timony is a musical artist and that's a reference to the music they were listening to. It's seems to be about a cross-country road trip, where Ben Gibbard was with a girl and learned that her past relationships (her bruise) was keeping her from moving on in relationship.
@HorsePlayProductions He is so talented. It gets foreshadowed a bit because they are mesh so well together, no one tries to stand out or have the focus on them at all
its a fender. yeah i know i didnt believe it either. it looks like its custom made tho. it has the body of a gibson ES335 but the neck of a fender. so i dont know what it is... but the neck is fender.
Fender Starcaster. No, not the shit you get a Best Buy. Back in the 70's Fender made a guitar called the Starcaster that looked just like that. Damn good guitars, rare as well.
Love this version. I have seen them 3 times, and they are always amazing.
