I'd have to say Sowell is my fav considering the broad range of areas he's gone into. He's an economist by trade but his area of expertise in so many various areas beyond just economics puts him #1 on my list. As far as just economics in general, I'd say Friedman takes the cake. As far as who I'd rather hear a speech from & have somethin explained to me, Williams is my guy. So I think we'd all agree they're the 3 best of our generation with all 3 having their own unique qualities :)
You act like Friedman was 50 years ago. He just died in 2006. All have good unique qualities. They're not all exactly the same. And I'll leave it at that. I just wish more people would listen to what they have to say
The founders envisioned a union with a weak central govt and strong member states...wait a sec, that's the EU. The EU's budget is little more than 1% of the GDP of its 27 member states, and it doesn't dictate policy unless it's clearly their province under the EU "Constitution". That's a small spending central authority which allows their member states to do what they want - that means the EU is libertarian, and you can point to Norway as a libertarian success story (any of the scandinavian coun
Would be nice if the TSA was run by the states. :) Or if the Department of Homeland Security was run by the states. Or if the Department of Education -- wait, lets get rid of the Department of Education.
Walter e. Williams has got a lot of guts to present the truth to a lot of Americans. that's why he is a great American and a great economist, and the best since Milton Friedman.
@Barry62152 While I admire Williams, in your statement you sure are overlooking a whole bunch of economists who have been telling the truth for a very long time :)
Does professor Williams want to lead the revolution to take Washington back from the dictatorial power of Washington. NA !! he just wants to recieve his tenure from the corporate funded Hoover Institute, who provides him with a great forum for book sales. Great stimulus to the ears but does nothing. Lead a revolution to take over Washington, or shut up.
@louiethegreater "Lead a revolution to take over Washington or shut up." A simpleton like yourself would do well to heed your own advice, but for others, helping to germinate an idea is great contribution on its own.
@theredraven Than others like Williams will evolve behind him, and talk, and talk, and talk, but nothing will ever change. The elitist who hold Washington captive, doesn't care how much we talk, but they know that out, and out revolution will change things in a hurry.
LMAO, you're an idiot.... Williams isn't with the Hoover Institute. Sowell is. Oh and BTW, no one at the Hoover Institute has tenure you moron. If you knew what you were talkin about, you'd know that. And if you're going to make ignorant comments about a legend such as Williams and sit your fat ass on your couch telling OTHER PEOPLE to do things when YOU YOURSELF could do something, at least know who and what you're talkin about, it may help some people take you more seriously
BTW, Williams (and I'm assuming yourself which is why YOU'RE not doing anything but sitting behind youtube making comments about other people) isn't a politician. He's an economists. If he wanted to get into politics, he'd do so. Same with Friedman and Sowell. They're not there to lead causes and what not. They're there to present the FACTS about the world and how the world works, not to be politicians. If you knew that, maybe you'd save yourself.
Haha, I don't see the likes of Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity doing anything but worrying about their 8 figure salaries. No body today (well I guess except you) is going to lead a "revolution" so just use common sense.
@MrRenagade15 Don't know what you mean, Limbaugh, Hannity, and Williams have the same message. Yes they are all including Williams looking out for their large salaries. The revolution will be led by, what was once middle america, and is now reduced to poverty.
You REALLY need to quit acting as if you know these guys and what you're talking about. Williams is a professor, not a talk show host getting paid to run his mouth. Plus, the same message? LOL, do you even LISTEN to any of them? Williams and Hannity especially couldn't be more different. One is a hard libertarian and one is a modern day Republican.
Fantastic comments from Walter Williams. I disapprove of using Rick Perry's picture as an example of "guts". Rick Perry has resisted the desires of the federal government but He also resists the desires of Texans.
LOL, yet another youtuber who can't listen to a guy without mentioning race. How about hearing an intelligent man in general telling the truth, Hmm? It's skin colored fruits like you which is why America is so obsessed with race
