now when you transform him from car to robot did you make parts pop out of no where like the arm pieces or did you break down the car to create each piece, from what i see, you cut the car into many piece and place them accordingly

Arguably you could just call it use of forcefield... but yeah, the challenge in making a transformer is to get the parts to look like they are actualy transforming. Other than that.. it looks very well. When you do a render putting a simple style behind and maby ad some effects.. that kind of render is usualy only used for first view to see if anything needs to be alterd.

heres my question, if this person can do something like this by himself, then why do movies need to spend 10s of millions of dollars to hire like a hundred ppl to create the CGI? suddenly, maybe hollywood cgi isnt so impressive after all. does anyone agree?

@xcode394 its more like 10 people to do CGI if that. Although what he did is good it is amateur. This was amateur and it probably took him about 12 hours of work and keep in mind, this does not have good detail to it, their are floating parts, and lighting is not taken into account. Imagine how long it would take to do if you had to include every scratch, scruff mark, and transformation (over 100 in the movie), it would take months for one person to do every animate for one character.

@xcode394 10s of millions of dollars is used to MAKE the video.. they arnt all just thrown to the CGI folk... take Avatar, they had to create a whole new camera system, they had a whole building with computers that had the power of the third(i think it was) most powerfull computer in the world.. JUST! to render the CGI.
