  • Tragic reconstrution from mother 3

  • @Soren216 Bismarck is said to have liked champagne and beer mixed. In Germany, the name of that drink is still called "The Bismarck".

  • Germany's theme in Civ V is so much more fitting, and very happy sounding. Go look at it. It sounds nothing like this.

  • why does this song sound so depressing

  • This really captures the vibe of Germany.

A country constantly blamed for it's dark history.

  • Why is Bismarck reccuring? Because the only other influental German leader isn't allowed in video games.....

Bismarck is awesome though... And i'm German...

  • @TriangleGenix And yet Russia gets Stalin...who was far worse than Hitler

  • @OnionMan How so?

  • @TriangleGenix Stalin killed WAY more people than Hitler's Holocaust did, out of sheer paranoia of infiltrators.

  • and this is my fav civ theme 2!

  • fredrick made prussia a prime country during the seven years wars and took much from the austrians bismark also delcared war on the austrians taking summore fredrick and bismark were great german leaders and hitler was crazy been referred to as bismark the 2nd :( any of you notice a painting of bismark in the reichstag? respected by facists and conservative austria fredrick and bismark were great ppl.

  • watch out for his Hat

  • I saw the film "enemy at the gate" and I listen the last Bismarks theme-Autor,if you done a film with this music,it will be pure, but great.Sorry for bad English.Hello from Georgia!

  • The Germans always are good allies to me whenever I play this game. I don't think I've ever had a session when I've been at war with Germany.

  • @RottenPineapples

Thats probably because his AI is designed to be friendlier then most of the others. He is a very good person to be-friend in a civ4 game... He usualy will help you fight wars if he dislikes the civilization your at war with, and hes pretty giving also.

  • Bismarck is THE IRON CHANCELLOR!

    Bismarck was a genius

  • iffysam your totelly right! Fredricks song should have been Bismarcks or another song for him. The man needs lots more repect he is the father of the super power we call germany. He id not start mutch wars except aginst france. And he littraly previnted WWI

  • I don't understand why they would use Beethoven's Funeral March for this. Yes, it's German, yes, it's from the same century. But it reeks of death. The theme is literally associated with death. Even to Beethoven.

Now, Bismarck started a few wars, yes, but they were for political reasons. The death association hardly seems fair. Bismarck was a very, very successful politician. When he died, THAT was when Germany started down the path to ruin. "Death" just doesn't seem fair to the man.

  • Wonder if we will ever see Hitler in Civ series? Like special abilites would be no jewish religion would be able to settle in german cities.

  • probably not, if they market it in Germany cause all their Anti-Nazi Laws

  • Isn't this the funeral march?

  • Yes, this is a little excerpt from it.

  • Yes, all hail the man who is Civ IV's closest interpretation of Santa.

  • ALL HAIL THE IRON CHANCELLOR

  • Im turk but i have to say , If Bismarck had remained in power , the first WW could be prevented. And when the first world war had not begun, the second WW could be prevented.

Bismarck was a genius. I have so much respect for this person.

    Excuse my bad english

  • @janoqwertz If he couldn't have prevented it, then he would have won it.

  • @janoqwertz

and if the second ww was not begun, the cold war could be prevented, and if the cold war was prevented, the whoel world wouldnt be afraid for china now!

  • @janoqwertz Bismarck is not powerful enough to prevent a worldwar.....its just like saying Barock Obama wants to save everything when he's only making it worse

  • @janoqwertz He would have been about 99 years old when the First World War broke out if he was even alive. If he managed to survive to 1914, the stress of running a country at that age would have finished him off. :P

  • @janoqwertz but he hated you turks?

  • @janoqwertz if hitler never kame to power the soviet union would done samething stalin realy wanted to expand the USSR look at red alert yes its a game but its true the soviet union was verry agresive when the 2 ww started the saw this as a change the allies gave back the ocupied nation but the soviet union did not (sorry 4 bad english)

  • Why do you discuss about the WWs?

I think Bismarck had nothing to do with it.

  • Comment removed

  • @thunder040794 He really didn't have anything to do with one of them. He even died before WW1.

  • @PadelbootStudios yeah, but he kept diplomatic relations in check. wilhelm II undid everything bismarck did right before the war.

  • Say, remember the time when this video wasn't a massive flame war over whether Germany was the aggressor in World War I? Those were good times...

  • You heard wrong sir, Bismarck, god rest him, died in 1883, three decades before world war one, and that basterd hitler never rose above the rank of lance corporal.

  • wow, i heard way wrong....

  • Eh, it happens.

  • Bismarck died before Hitler was even born.

  • Otto was a brilliant man, he completely smashed the final french monarchy, allowing France to have democracy for good.

  • @issareign

If the world is run by a small elite class, then I'd fire them for incompetence.

  • come on people, no need to argue so much

he must have been a good man if he reunited all of Germany...

anyway even if this song is kinda sad you must admit it is patriotic somehow

  • You certainly know nothing about history...

Go back to watching Anime (just look at your channel..) and stop talking shit. Bismarck wasnt racist, Jews had equal rights in Prussia back then and he died long before anyone had ever heard of Nazis.

  • Supporter of monarchy? Nah... he was just a shrewd statesman and politician, like Julius Caesar. The fault for WW1 lies instead in those who decided things at Vienna 1815, who failed to take the growing German nationalism into account.

Thus, when Germany was born, the others reacted and began building up...

  • I forgot to ask... what do you think of Stalin? or Mao? Do you think theyre fine?

Raging about poor Otto while ignoring the real "baddies" that killed millions... pathetic.

  • Maybe because he was his predecessor. Wilhelm led Germany into WWI before he was overthrown by Kaiser Wilhelm and the Weimar Republic, which fell shortly afterward, giving way to Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich.

  • Bismarck is the great father of germany! He was not a dictator like hitler, but a good politician and strategist. He established the Social Security as we know it today. So I have to say that it is really garbage you said.

  • I always hated trading with Bismarck. He wasn't an ass, he just had depressing music all the time

  • Beautiful song... pity Bismarck's policies he worked a lifetime to create were demolished by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Not that that has anything to do with Civilization IV, but still. God save Graf Bismarck!

  • Indeed, I daresay if he wouldn't have died, there's a good chance WWI might not have happened.

  • @need; If you are referring to ww1 then you are very grievously mistaken. I recommend you read a book or two on the subject. But in any case look up the schlieffen plan. A plan developed years before the 'great war' that revolves around the invasion of france in a future war. Wilhelm and Germany were the aggressors in ww1. It was they who went to assault Belgium, the last straw for France and Britain cohesively, and stormed there way around French fortifications andinto mere miles next to paris.

  • @redarrowhead: to allege that "Wilhelm and Germany were the aggressors in ww1" is EXTREME nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read a good book and try to learn something about history.

  • hey moron, i did in fact read a comfortable book on your precious world war. Guns of August by Tuckman. Please do not assume I am uninformed because I'm saying something you do not like. If you read a book that dwells solely on the first month of the world war, the only month that actually mattered, and events leading up to and prior to the war then you will see I am not mistaken.

They were the aggressors. And it comes to no question why France, Britain put such punitive conditions prior ww2.

  • You are brainwashed.

  • Those short sighted and draconian conditions were foolish and one of the greatest mistakes in all of history. What could have been avoided! Germany did a lot worse to France in WWII, but with a different path, look how well we get on now! We have one of the closet bi-national relationships in the entire world! The ToV was a horrific and unbelievably foolish mistake.

  • if you go on to say that book is not reputable or something like that. Well the book impressed jfk so much that he gave it to his generals to read. It definitely impressed me. You should read it and then come back and ask me who were the aggressors.

  • Whether or not you think the book you've read might be the solid hardcore facts of the world at it's time, I'd still recommend basing your facts on multiple books on the subject before claiming facts.

  • whatever you say smarty pants. i dont think any youtuber commenter is as well read and fluent with history. you make it seem like i'm writing a paper because i know im not going to read 30 books on the subject to work out a reply. one will do. bye bye

  • Germany pretty much gave Austria-Hungary a blank check to a point where unreasonable demands could be given to serbia, after the assassination. Although the ultimatum was approached positively the empire still declared war on serbia. Austria-Hungary knew Germany held their back and were urged to do so.

Germany asked for passage through Belgium neutrality and passage in the wake of the war. Belgium said No. Germany subdued Belgium by force in order to attack France. This brings in Britain to war

  • this was of course followed afterwards by unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman telegram. The german battleship the Goeben incident forced, or heavily pushed, Turkey into the war on the axis side as well. Oh yes and the Schlieffan Plan was developed in 1890s for a possible future incursion into France which was organized months before the war.

Now please do not say Germany was not the aggressor.

  • im sorry the 'central' powers not the italy-germany axis.

  • Beethoven hell yeah

Symphony 3 is my favorite of his, represent

  • All Hail the Iron Chancellor of the Father Land, Otto Von Bismarck. *salutes*

    5/5
