  • first time i fought this guy was after i was power leveling on titans tournament i was like " OH CRAP NO ITS ATTACUS!!!!!.... YOU INSULT ATTACUS WITH YOUR WEAKNESS!!!"

  • Can you get back to this point after you get to the 3 portals before the final boss ?

  • lol "and this is the little hobo you're gonna be killing" xD

  • Thanks alot man this really helped! :D

  • time to go try this!!!!

  • O.O i kept running the wrong way at this part XD

  • I know this was posted a year and a half ago, but I was wondering: is it possible to get back to this spot after completing the game? I can't seem to find a way to back track to it.

  • You sound like Nicolas Cage, lol. :) But yeah, this place is the best to get some xp.

  • i did this all the way to 9,999 CP did wonders :D i finished all missions easily by grinding in the easiest battle ever :P

  • So how do you do this fight if those paradigms aren't possible? You aren't using the roles that are natural to those characters, after all.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ultimax13 That's true, but then you have to develop them... I'd like an alternate strategy until the strategy in the video is possible, if I could get one.

  • ...virgins...

  • I dunno. I can beat the adamantortise through the other portal (not to pulse) in about 3:30 and get 80,000 CP along with the chance of farming gil and trapezohedrons. I guess my party is far stronger than you are in this video,

  • @Xyrin

Can you get back here after completing the game? If so, how? Please Reply. Btw great video!

  • @CrissieVsTheWorld probably late answer but u can after u beat the game, sorry D:

  • after you beat the boss, you can travel freely to pulse, orphans cradle, and eden.

  • @Xyrin

Is there a way to go back to previous areas? When should I start upgrading my characters? I mean if I defeat the game earlier, is there a way to do sidequest (Cieth' Stone mission, defeat Shao LongGui, something like that)??

    Thanks

  • @bahamut520 once beating the game, you should be able to go back wherever(i didnt beat yet) and you can further complete the crystal grid thing/ finish missions/ ect.

  • Where is this area? I'm on Chap. 13 and I've entered this area, but it's so maze-like, and the landscape keeps changing when I do things that I can't find this area. You don't even have the mini-map for people see. When you reach this area are you still able to go back to pulse?

  • @SeanMcDonnell There's a portal to go back at the beginning, and this area is right before the final boss.

  • @Xyrin I know when you first get to this general area, there are two portals leading to pulse, but once you get to this specific leveling area, right before the final boss, you can't get back to the portal again, can you? I'm trying to level to make it easier to complete all the missions, and I want to do it before beating the game. If I can't go back, this doesn't help me.

  • @SeanMcDonnell Even after defeating the boss you can go back to pulse, BUT you can not go back to this area if you do so.

  • What if we are stuck and can't get this far? xD but thanks a lot for this :D now when I finally get here I can get a lot of cp

  • ...and what level is this?

  • what type of weapon those lighting, hope and fang has?

  • @Xyrin Question! can you show me your stats???

  • Great video/strategy.

The buff you want to watch for is not Barfire, it is Enfire. Once Enfire hits my Lightning (last to get it), I switch to Evened Odds.

Second, when the mob uses Mounting Contempt after 3 attacks, it also pulls debuffs off of the mob. Make sure you wait till he is debuffed AND not about to use Mounting Contempt.

This strategy is required for me even halfway through the last role with everyone. Works great.

Also, get the Growth Egg before coming here! Helps immensely.

  • what chapter is this

  • Very helpful. like Mater0Laugh said I used even odds and switched to aggression/tireless charge to finish him off. It is a great way to level.

if You want to finish off the battle quickly use aggression but if he targets your leader heal that person ASAP because that charge move he does can kill you unexpectedly. I won using this in like 57 seconds as my fastest time

other wise using tireless charge almost guarantees you will live and my fastest time with this was 1min and 18seconds.

  • When I got here I was already over-levelled as I did most of my levelling back on Pulse. As this was the case when I got to this battle I didn't bother with buffing and de-buffing, just went all out with Agression and switched to Tireless Charge if necessary :)

  • i used even odds the whole time to debuff and buff. then i switched to aggression. my best time in this fight is 1min and 4 secs.

  • Does cp gained by characters cross over to your other chars'? Early in the game for example, where the group separates, would cp earned with light and hope be passed to Sahz and vanille?

  • @bradleeeeey1 yes it would don't worry

  • about how many hours did you have to invest to max out your crystogen points? (outside of the regular storyline)

  • @dakgnosis not long but that's because when I had beaten the story line I was highly levelled so I could hit the enemies that gave you loads of CP no problem and got max CP quicker

  • oh i fight those gigantic adamatouise with vanile but u need a summon to kill it then with death

  • cool I use "almost" the same tactics. I just use deshell deprotect and imperil (and curse if the debuffs went fast) and then kill him fast I mostly have 1 medic and 2 saboteurs.

  • @fattybumpo Apparently you don't know how many games I own or that I've almost beaten every ff game out there.

  • @Xyrin what does beating every ff game out there have to do with being or not being a wow nerd? this is done just like an encounter strat for wow. good vid, but I guess the terminology just brings back not-so-fond memories.

That aside, I will definitely take advantage of this useful vid. Thanks.

  • @fattybumpo

Missed that both are RPGs, and therefore include strategy?

  • @Xyrin wow for somereason i was to young to get these games so yea... lol 13 is the first one i have played i have looked at these games since they looked interesting when i was 10

  • @Xyrin haha i guess am not the only one thats beaten all the ff out there so far i like ur thinking

  • haha i got here and then finished the game and i was sad when i couldnt come back. i thought of this and did it to max out just the 3 main classes for everybody

  • syn is not Fang's primary discipline. therefore, if you haven't invested time in training her as a syn this method would be kinda useless :\

  • thanks alot man, basic easy to understand u and it works...thanks bud keep it up :D

  • were u using growth egg

  • @freako12341 No.

  • The best thing to do is max all the current Crysterium and top up to 999,999 CP for the last crysterium bonus after the final boss. It took me about 2 hours to get 999,999 CP from zero. Ching ching!

  • nearly masterd all 3 main rolls and this is helpin me finish it off thanks :) helps alot :P

  • How did you already have Fang as a high enough synergist to be casting Shellra and Faithra, I didn't even start leveling their secondary roles until I had all of the primary three roles maxed out

  • damn, fangs hot.

  • @StokieStallion to each his own i guess...

  • Wtf are missions.. Im noob sorry but im only at Chapter 7 and ive farmed at Hopes house for abit and have these attatchments : (Btw sorry this isnt anything with the video)

    Lightning : Gladius Lv.17

    Hope : Airwing Lv.10

    Snow : Wild Bear Lv.12

    Fang : Bladed Lance Lv.11

    Sazh : Deneb Duellers Lv.11

    Vanille : Pearlwing Staff Lv.10

Is this set up good for the meantime so I dont have to farm anymore throughout the whole game?

  • PS3 Btw :O..

  • Also most of the Crystogen is Lv.2 (Maxed at this point..)

  • Where is this in the Game, I just arrived at Gran Pulse, so how long will it take to get here.

  • Also did you use the Growth Egg?

  • @KonohasOrangeFlash No, and by your other question, Power Leveling is a form in which you get the most EXP points per hour that is possible, and "Farm" the exp for hours on end.

  • What exactly do you mean by POWER Leveling?

  • i have completed the game but i cant seem to go back around to this place, would you know whats going on with it?

  • @Lewster333 You are unable to come back to this point after completing the game.

  • @Xyrin so u can only go to gran pulse or somwhere else

  • to get growth egg: defeat barthandelus in oerba, complete mission 14.

    before mission 14, u must complete missions 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 12, 13, then 14.

after this, u get the mission 55 stone located at oerba - deserted schoolhouse (roof).

The mark location is at archylte steppe - agrra's pasture.

Be aware, this fight is tough. Probably death the Big Monster thing, and always have 1 sentinal when trying this with 2 or so med.

  • you need 700.000 cp to fully max out one crystarium.

  • THis isn't related to this vid but can you get back to Gran Pulse once you have beaten the final boss?

  • @KooKookid520 yes

  • @Xyrin Thanks, I was really anxious about wanting to get back since I didn't do any missions.

  • Thanks so much for this video. It shaved off like 2 minutes for me

  • i can kill this guy with one strike at how good i am

  • probably been already asked, is it possible to get back here once you've finished the game? how? also, what's the total number of CP points one needs to fill out all the chrystariums for every character? finally (sorry, I'm full of questions today!), what's this about a growth egg?

  • @ganning1987 To be quick and to the point...

No, I'm not sure how much CP you need, and the growth egg is an accessory that gives 2x the amount of CP after battle.

  • @Xyrin hmm, that seems pretty nice, when and how can you get it (the egg)? don't worry about the cp stuff, I'll find out another way.

  • @ganning1987 the growth egg is a item you get that doubles cp earned it's unlocked on mission 55 but is VERY hard to get i used vanille sab fang sen and hope med and spammed death took 3 tries

  • are you using the x2 cp accessory?

  • @BlankMethod I was not, you'd get 64k CP if you use the egg.

  • "Will die for food," huh? Just die! XD

  • Damn, I saw this spot and thought it would be a good level place, but I figured I could return later, after beating the final boss!

  • hey i have a question man. how do you get back to this spot if you have already killed the last boss? i cant seem to find it

  • @Matej1200 there should be a teleport crystal thing that takes u back to the the open lands on ch11

  • @ZeroSteel45 There is? :S

  • @mitttyz well theres all ways the final choise u can buy a guild book and yes it says it on my guild book

  • @Matej1200

Unfortunately you cannot return back to this specific spot after you complete the main story line. Go get the growth egg and start working on the mark missions. You'll eventually get strong enough to take down the Adamantoise/tortoise, which drop 40k cp (80k with the growth egg.)

  • thank you so much man, i just beat the game last night with all of my stuff leveled up as high as it can go (first 3 classes given to each guy) and use the same party as you. i was so sick of fighting those two big cats that fight each other the king behemouth and w.e the other one is. i kill the guy you showed in this video in like five seconds and will help me alot. thank you so much

  • It is extremely beneficial to get the growth egg before grinding here. Death spamming the Neochu isn't extremely difficult, and it significantly cuts down on the time needed to purchase all crystarium upgrades available at this point in the game.

Also, using Lightning as a sentinel with 3 generals belts, and Hope & Fang as double synergists and saboteurs in the beginning of the fight, and then switching to Agression or Relentless Assault makes for easy fights. Use Combat Clinic for healing.

  • @YourBoone

*This strategy also applies to the Jabberwocky and Bandersnatch duo and the Cie'th and Soldier duo. Once you have bravera/faithra, deprotect/despell, and haste on Lighting & and Fang, you'll be able to drop all three groups. You will be able to make just over 190,000 cp in about 10 minutes.

  • oh yea can u still go here after u beat the game?

  • dude thanks about this

  • I wish I had known about this before I passed this area. I haven't killed the final boss yet, but I'm at him. I can teleport to Base Camp and Eden and travel anywhere I want, but I can't go back in this zone.

  • Can u kill the last boss again, once u beat it? i bet that was stupid

  • @sosick213 Yes, you can kill the last boss as many times as you wish.

  • @Xyrin By last boss do you mean i could get the achivment/trophie superstar? (have to get 5 stars when u fight the bosss)

  • No spoilers??????????????

What about the spoiler of showing us the last character?

  • @MidknightWorld The character is shown in images, in screenshots, even the damn commercials... Not a spoiler at all. >.>

  • @MidknightWorld

Why are you even watching this if you haven't gotten Fang in your party yet?

  • I am right before the final battle. I can warp to gran pulse, eden hall and the narthex. But i dont think i can in any way reach this leveling spot, though i havent done the final boss yet. So this place is adios to me even if i haven´t beat the game yet. Should have looked around a bit before saving straight before the boss. Or is there any way to get here as long as i havent saved after beating the game?? Anybody who knows?

  • can u still come back tot his place after you kill the last boss?

  • @theEnd808 As I've said in the other comments, YOU CAN NOT return here after the credits roll and you save the game.

  • great, i did the math, it looks like i need to fight this guy 191 more times to get all of my guys to lev 4 maxed in all classes, and walk away with 999,999 cp, i guess i better get started......

  • can you go back afer you beat the game?

  • @TonePottery No, there is no way to go back to this spot after the credits roll and you save.

  • excellent video thanks

  • Hey, the elevator isn't there for me, what should I do?

  • @xxzenocatxx You most likely are in the wrong part of the game. I'd suggest checking to see if there is the ramp to the right, and if not, continue on with the story until there is. Once there is a long elevated Staircase going all the way up, that is the correct zone. If for some reason the elevator isn't there, the one to the right of the one I took will do just fine. The elevators could also already be at the top, check up there.

  • so you think fang would make a better commando?

isnt the prob with rav/rav/rav that the thing zips back down to zero too fast?

i guess if you time the hits right that wont happen

but for some enemies ive found it goes from like 99% full to 0% in like 3 seconds if i havent attacked yet with a COM

btw, does having a com active make it go down slow, or having attacked with a com at any time?

  • @ryancouture Yes, fang would be better as commando.

And what you need to do is COM, RAV, RAV to start the stagger, then switch to RAV RAV RAV and nuke the mob. Then, as you notice the meeter dropping too fast, switch back to COM RAV RAV to keep the bar from dropping so fast. Remember to switch to a medic spec when you need heals, and sometimes on the harder fights, having RAV RAV MED out helps a lot too.

  • is Fang's highwind attack a COM or RAV ability?

btw do you know where to get the pandora spear nobody seems to be able to tell me

  • one last thing, but probably not -

is there ever a situation where two COM's would be ideal? im going to have fang soon, should i start putting the bulk of my CP into RAV for lightning then?

actually you know what, i've had more than enough CP thus far fighting all the creatures to max out all three

    nevermind then

  • @ryancouture Highwind is in COM, and the Pandora Spear was in Chapter 9, you can buy it in Plautus's Workshop though for around 16k Guil. And it is ideal for 2 COM's if they are full buffed, and the enemy is debuffed., as you can see in this video..lol

COM does the most damage while the enemy is staggered, while RAV boosts the max % up the fastest.. So switching between them while they are staggered is ideal.

  • this is the best place to level, before fighting the last boss....where can i level, after beating the final boss???

  • @DKIBirdman Currently I am busy doing sidequests and such, I haven't really tried finishing off my levels yet.

The giant Adamantoise in the middle of the plain, though, gives 40,000 CP and has a chance at dropping a good item to sell (Platinum Ingot), but you need a lot of items and a well set up party before facing him. But, I'm not sure if this is a good place to powerlevel. :)

  • i get 80.000 CP for one adamantoise because of double cp and beat him in nearly 1 minute...but it still isnt a good power level option because everytime i fight against him i need summon odin or bahamut to get him down

  • any recommendation on which weapons to level for each character?

my party near the end will probably be fang, light, and sazh (maybe vanille instead of him)

lightning will be commando usually physical attacks, fang ravager, sentinel, and sab

sazh/vanille will be rav, med, syn

    whadya think?

  • @ryancouture Fang ends up having more STR than Lightning, and Lightning has Army of One with RAV. It's always a good to use RAV RAV RAV to get the stagger meter up, and then use the most damaging classes to beat them down, switching back and forth between them both to get 999% for max damage.

But, to answer your question, anything that increases the stagger meter faster, like Lionheart for Lightning.

  • thank you o_o

  • whoa! nice work dude!

i use the same set up as you, same 3 characters and our paradigm's set up is more or less the same as well.

cheers for the upload dude, think this'll be helpful to make out all the Roles for the characters!

    thanks again!

  • thanks for the video, i was having trouble because i went up the ramp on the left hand side and got attacked by the same enemie but he had a templar with him :S at least i know where the elevater is now :P thanks again!

  • @scorchre epic fail lol

  • Amazing man. Thanks.

Great Presentation, amazing clarity, and awesome strategy.

  • Rav, Rav, Rav. No buffs dead before this dude had his buffs up.

  • What mission is this on? During a Cie'th mission?

  • @MetalliclMetallica Small Spoiler: It's in chapter 13 on the main storyline, partway in.

  • Lots of help for when I finally get the game. Cool guide.

  • cool, thanks alot
