There are just a few things that would have fitted like the original scenes of the game.

Fox example: Frog has already the Masamune with him; in the game, Crono stuck it on the ground and Frog then takes it out.

In the Ocean Palace, where is Zeal? She must be on Lavos head.

Anyways, the scenes are amazing.

Just a few wrong details: in the Lavos scene, where is Queen Zeal? In the game, she was standing on Lavos.

Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, etc... he's the character designer for Chrono Trigger, thus the resemblance. Toriyama has a very distinctive style... you might also recognize his designs in the game series "Dragon Quest" (aka "Dragon Warrior" in the states and such up until recently).

I never played the PSx version but I've played SNES w/ all endings. Really cool designs from the creator of Dragon Ball. I can see the hint of Vegeta in Magus and Glen. A sense of trunks in Jonas(young magus) and a definate Goku in chrono. Oh ya, ending purple haired girl(damn I can't remember her name) is so Bulma.

It was a certain way at the time. Everything has a purpose depending on the intent of the era.  That fire appear sound effect is typical.
