  • Kevin did the movie "Taking Chance" about U.S.Marine Cpl Chance Phelps who was killed in Iraq. Kevin played Col. Mike Strobel who brought chance's body back home from Dover AFB MD (the military's morgue) to Dubois Wyoming.

    It was very sad. Kevin came back to Dubois last year for a concert for the Chance Phelps Foundation headed up by his mom.

    Kevin, as a WY resident, I thank you very much.

    We had over 900 people @ Chance's funeral. Dubois Pop 900.

  • After the film was released, Spacey did some live performances of Darin material. Man, I would've killed to have seen one of those concerts! Beyond The Sea was truly a labor of love for him.

    RIP Bobby : He passed away 36 years ago today December 20, 1973.

  • Kevin did an awesome job. My favorites in the movie were the "As Long as I'm Singing" duet with little Billy Ulrich, and the last song (tearjerker) "When the Curtain Falls."

    But what can you say about Bobby Darin? OMG, there just aren't enough words, just watch some of his videos on here. Bobby Darin and Kevin Spacey both have extreme sex appeal and charisma so Kevin was the right man for the job. I promise, the movie will make you cry. It also has delightfully funny spots.

  • There is a nice scene in the beginning when Bobby Darin is criticized for playing himself when he was so old. I thought that was a great way to suspend belief about Spacey being too old to play Bobby. Great movie and amazing song. Terrific.

  • Kevin Spacey did a decent job, but take the time to research Bobby Darin. He was & is worth your time. See the DVDs "Beyond the Song" or "Mack is Back" or the CD/DVD Aces Back to Back. Bobby Darin was a tremendous performer. There are many Bobby Darin youtube videos to enjoy. If you explore Bobby Darin, you will discover a unique, tremendous talent.
