@sfgiantsfan500 Yes, I started sliding on 72mm 75A's. They wont slide as easily, especially if theyve got a square/sharp lip, but if you go fast enough theyll slide easy
my dads like 200 pounds and wants a skateboard to cruise around on with me, i was thinking pintail so which would be good for him being his weight and a beginner?
@SpiderCider69 he would be fine with either the pintail 43 or pintail 46. Both boards can easily hold up to 250lbs, and they're both great beginner boards.
@TheGamingSupremacy I know. I longboard, but when I watch a video I tend to expect to see stuff that I couldn't do. Something talented. This is just carving. It isn't dancing, urban assault, sliding, downhill, or any other discipline that actually requires skill.
@TrainsSeriously Obviously you don't understand original's videos. Their videos aren't about skill and tricks. It's about showing the beautiful things in life. You're really ignorant.
please can we see another series Original! This series is some of the best stuff on youtube. I've watched it so many times and it still gets me stoked for skating and traveling. pretty please guys
Hey original i got my apex 37 in the mail 2 days ago and didnt get my western sessions dvd or an original sticker. Why? I was looking forward to it. I love the board though.
would it be alright to start learning longboarding even though I'm 29yrs old? I did a bit of skateboarding but more like cruising. I'm thinking of getting a mini. Would that be a got board to start off with?
@blankly01 Heck yes it's alright to learn. When we started Original (almost 9 years ago) my Dad stepped onto a longboard for the first time (he was 48). Even though he was a life time surfer and newly inducted snowboarder he hadn't ridden a skateboard since he broke his wrist when he was 12.
It is never to late, or too early, to start.
That being the case a Mini is not a great place to start in my opinion. Better to go with something a little longer to make learning easier and more fun.
@Originalskateboards Thanks. I stand 5'3" with about 160lbs (heavy dude, I know) that's why I'm thinking getting a mini. But if a longer one would help me shorten the learning time that would be cool.
@blankly01 Hey Blankly, it really depends on what you are doing with it and what shape the actual deck is. Most minis 32'' or shorter are really more like shortboard skateboards with a pointy surf style nose (see Element, Lost.. Santa Cruz et. al). Those are not longboards and not what you are looking for as far as I can tell.
You certainly could choose a shorter board (like a 34'' with a wider wheel base, maybe an Apex 34) or you could go with something like a Pintail 37 etc.
@d0wnto3arthshuffl3r Hey! The Pintails are awesome for carving, cruising and having a good time. Both the Pintail 37 and 40 will be good for your size!
Considering your height and weight, I would suggest waiting for the Apex 34 to come back in stock which should be by the end of the month! If you have any other questions, let us know
A great beginner board for you would be either the Malakai, Pintail 37, Pintail 40 or the Torpedo! Check them out and if you have any other questions, let us know!
@surfycharlie123 Check out the Pintail 37 or Pintail 40 for cruisng, carving and transportation. For tricks and slides try the Apex 37 in Flyweight flex.
im always a little freked out to go down giant hills without them leveling out somehow. im cool with giant hills as long as they turn out straight or even a slight uphill at the end. i guess wat im sayin is, i need to figure out how to slow down. i kinda got it with the whole put or foot down, but with goin fast and the speed wobble thing,i just dont know how. can yoy tell me how exactly to slow down or come to a complete stop while going fast? please answer back and thanks a lot!
A great cruising board for a beginner that I would recommend to you would be either the Pintail 40, Pintail 43, Torpedo 40 or an Apex 37 if you want something a little bit more aggressive.
Hey original longboarders i am 5"9" and i am looking for a longboard but a mini version at a reasonable low price do you have any suggestions. thanks, please respond.
A great mini longboard at a reasonably low price that would work great for you is the Derringer 28 which should be in stock fairly soon! I would suggest that one or the Apex 34 which we are expecting sooner
the apex 37 would be great but ill be way to small for it.
Right now I have a Sector 9 Tree Barrel. Its my first and only board but i luv to ride some hills around my neighbourhood. I wanna learn how to slide as well as my next thing and do a couple tricks. What board would you reccomend.
@jcindehouse The Apex 34 sounds like a pretty good option for you. Its a bit shorter and lighter then the 37 so will fit your size. Look for them to be in stock next month.
I just got my pintail 37, it rides like a dream :D, i feel like im surfing the sky when i ride it, keep on making awsome boards guys, and dont stop being original :D
4' 11" around 90lbs and have a nedd for speed! I was thinking about one of the Pintails I would like a suggestion though. Oh and I like a litlle bit of carving too. Thanks
if you wanna learn tricks off boards do you think its better if i get a skateboard or longboard also wich do you think is funner for small city locations? tnx love your longboarding its sick
What time of the year did you go? Me and 7 of my friends are looking to take a road trip west (from Illinois) in march for spring break and longboard...we are hoping to film and hopefully get a sponser for it as well :)
I would suggest taking a look at either the Derringer 28, Hybrid 35, Apex 34 or Pintail 37! All of these will be great choices for you, so let us know if you have any other questions!
im 5'10 about 125 pounds and i like doing tricks but i also like goin downhill when i want to and cruising along flat when i want to. what would be a ggod board for me?
Hey O.S i tried contacting your number today to ask about the apex 37 but my call wasnt connected, is there another number i can try or something? thanks
hey, im 14 and i live in holland, as you probably know there are no mountains out there :P, im a beginner and want a longboard that can go fast even when theres no hills, but also good at cruising, i was thinking about the path 37 or maybe you suggest a better board thats good for me.

Hi there Original! .. I need help to find a good wheel, I want a easy sliding wheel as i want to learn how to slide.. but i still want to be able to go and have fun with friends without loosing the grip. do you have any tips of what to look for?
i'm not hating on original, but why don't these guys show off a little? i mean of they are sponsored riders they've gotta be pretty decent. they could have gotten great footage bombing those hills or even some good free riding. i don't' think i saw 1 standup 180 in there.
hey im 5'6 and 125 pounds live in the city in cali what would be a good board for just riding around and doing a little tricks? this will also be my 1st longboard but i do have expierence surfing and longboarding alot... Plz help thanks alot
Hey there fellas. What set up would you recommend for a big brotha like myself, 5'9 285 lbs, for cruisin and occasionally hittin parking garages and mellow hills?
hey i have my apex 35 ( so happy, LOVE IT!!!) and this dvd, but i would like to know the songs, and also, i didnt get a discount when i bought my board after i subscribed to you guys,
Going on a road trip out west this summer, trying to hit some sick longboarding spots. Was wondering if I could get some info on some of these spots? Particularly the mountain in ep 1, and the ditches in vegas and NM.
To go along with these board suggestion messages if you dont mind, I'm 6,2" and 145lbs, new to longboarding, but the carving stuff looks more appealing to me but it seems boards can be pretty specialised, are there any more all round boards?
how much more speed can s10s handle then s8s? i live in boulder colorado and i like to bomb huge hills and i got a dervish and i want original trucks. My friend has a 37 its sick!!! I want good carving trucks and how much speed can s8s and s10s handle b4 speed wobble?
why didn't you guys just bomb it instead of just pumping and carving? oh well still awesome
