Nice sound but it's not a stag sound which is far better, it's a classic leave it alone want a faster one buy a new car. That badge on the bonnet is a very bad move. Still a nice example.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps Carb and tank clean and rustfree
really love the louvred bonnet,,,going to put them on mine...and must help keeping the under bonnet temperature down....vital esp with the original engine
It's the only convertable I wanna own I jus LOVE V8 engines.
That conversion sounds awesome. Who cares about appreciation when you can have fun. Besides, it only matters if you wanna sell it, ad if I had one I wouldn't. :)
Saying its not original and perhaps a step back slightly with it being pushrod as opposed to an OHC motor.
My opinion is, its your car, and you can do the what the hell you wish with it. Id rather see a stag on the road with a Rover V8 in it than a 6 cyl Ford
Brilliant!!! Cruise with confidence.

Fuckin' lush sound.
But I reckon you should remove the Triumph motif from the bonnet.
That was a TR7 thing.
volvomantom 4 years ago
Nothing wrong with the motif, nothing wrong with the TR7.
If people had thier own minds and actually drove one they would find the TR7 isn't as bad as people say it is. :)
Respect to the TR7.
KongoXIIV 4 years ago
Kongo, I didn't say the TR7 was a bad car, did I?
volvomantom 3 years ago
Then why should he remove the motif?
Looks bitchin'.

Because this is a Stag. :)

IMO it's the wrong engine. The Triumph V8 is OHC the Buick/Rover is pushrod.

@sher854
Hi not a lot it was a box standard sd1 vitesse engine with a fast road cam.
The car now has a 4ltr grif, hot wire twin plenum. producing 265bhp. Soon to have stage 3 heads
