  • COMPLEATE IDIOT !!!!!!! poor battery i fell sory for being owned by redneck !

  • jeeeest!!

  • Hehee not very good engine, VW TDI starts in few seconds with glow plugs not working or wires not connected at 0 degrees celsus (cold start). Behaves like this peugot (or even better) at minus 20 without glow plugs but stil starts :)

  • rozrusznik do wymiany

  • Typical peugeot

  • Your car sounds like my dirt bike xD

  • Sweet turbo

  • @danielpbaker have to wait for all lights to go off otherwise imobiliser will be on. Also if the plugs were heated up it would of started and be no unburned diesel coming from exhaust. got no reason to lie, couldn't really care less. your the one watching these videos

  • this car SUCKS !

  • good luck with that engine

  • The 405 was probably one of the last decent Peugeots, apart from the 406, which I've had a few of and they've be great cars.

  • was anyone else watching this after a certain amount of time just expecting it to break into a song or something? lol

  • T-shirt and shorts ... doesnt seem that cold

  • @Botev1912Botev cold start meaning starting the engine from cold. my other video is minus 15

  • exhaust worth more than the car

  • Wow your fucking crazy dude!

  • its 1.9td 90ps?

  • @ThatHoodNiggaBrik

    Defiantly 1.9td and 90ps cheers

  • Techno music!

  • Love the turbo sound.

  • I love the look the dog gives.... funny as...

  • Waiting for 1:39

That's what busy youtubers need to know!

  • great battery, silly exhaust pipe!

  • thats one damn good battery u got there:D

  • poor starter...

  • knew it'd fire up once it got to smoking

  • but thats not a diesel?

  • @MoTurnPi it is? O_O

  • SOUNDS LIKE THAT GOFFER I CAUGHT IN ME LAWNMOOWER.

  • metele menos combustible

  • Techno!

  • how does it even burn the fuel without the plugs?

  • @punchmaster123 Diesel engines don't have spark plugs. They use compression to ignite the fuel.

  • @punchmaster123 through compression mate, the glow plugs just help the engine start, once it has fired up it will run, in a diesel engine, the compressed air is so compressed, the heat that is generated through the compression is enough to combust the diesel, thus moving the piston down. cheers petrol engines need spark plugs to ignite the fuel

  • i owned a j plate 405 gld how i miss that car

  • Almost sounds like a Techno song lol!!

  • unfortunately the dogs to old now lol

  • @Richbowker I thought he was pretty cool. Turbo sounds nice

  • Nice dog you got there. Maybe you should use it as a vehicle instead of the car :p

  • what a smoke <3

  • pull to yunkyard this piece of shit

  • @gergely007

    why its not rusty?

give me a car of this reg in good nick over a modern one any day, no foookin electronics.

  • that battery is MASSIVE !

  • niiice :D

  • Come on baby u can start. Come on come on

  • The dog looks astonished that it started.

  • @agt155

thank fuck for that..... now we can go walkies lol

  • @Richbowker

Hey! I don't know much about cars, so I want to ask you a question...

What is the use of glow plugs?

  • sure have, going to france in it this year, just done 160000

  • have u still got this 405

  • Ok, fill me in, I am a little ignorant here. How does a diesel run without glow plugs?

  • @chazfensk glow plugs just help the starting process by heating up the combustion chamber, once the engine fires they turn off, sometimes they stay on for a while longer till the desired temperature is reached.

the reason for my car taking so long to start is because not one glow plug was working, and it took ages to start

  • @Richbowker I didn't know that. I just learned something. Awesome video! Thanks!

  • @Richbowker started by compression only Eh?

  • @yamahonkawazuki well yes it must of, because when i took the glow plugs out not one worked, not even warm to touch.

lots of diesels have no glow plugs,

direct injection engines sometimes have glowplugs to assist the starting.Smaller car engines are normally of the sort that do need glowplugs but big truck engines and some industrial engines used for waterpumps etc do not have glowplugs.

  • @Richbowker umm yor wrong the glow plugs keep the engine running wen the engine fires the heat from the fire keeps the glow plugs hot to start the next fire of the engine yor plugs were glowing but all off them werent glowing hot only one was so wen u started the engine one piston was firing causinf un burnd fuel to ge into the exhaust and smoke so wen the engine heated up so did all the glow plugs :)

  • @seanweimorts Diesel engines rely on the heat of compressed air to ignite their fuel not the glow plugs. When the engine is cold, compression alone may not produce enough heat for the fuel to burn, so most diesels use glow plugs, These glow plugs are switched on for anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds to make the engine easier to start. Glow plugs do not hold the heat 'heat from the fire keeps the glow plugs hot to start the next fire' your quote is incorrect,

    cheers

  • @Richbowker umm no the glow plugs are heated from the fire of the engine not the air yes wen u compress air it will get hot same as if u de compress air it will get very cold but that alon still wont get the engine hot for it to fire up it needs the glow plugs as thay have small coils that hold that heat from the last fire of the engine for the next to light up so yor still wrong but you are right about not needing one thats only if the engine is so hot it will keep going that can also

  • @seanweimorts you are wrong, many many diesels dont have glow plugs, i have both a lister and a petter diesel engine that dont have them, all they use is the compression of air to heat up the air inside to such a degree that when the injector sprays the fuel ignites, glow plugs in direct injection engines have a tip that sits the the injectors spray path so when electrical curent is passed though the coil inside they heat up and the engine cranks thus spaying diesel on to the plug and igniting

  • @05clenharth it, many diesel engines dont need glow plugs to start, only in the cold where the compression of the air alone in not enough to ignite the diesel in the first few cranks, in this car though it has obvioisly done many miles or has had a hard life and due to ware and tare has reduced the compression to the point where it cant start without much cranking to build heat as the comprssion is low so it is not making as much heat, after a while cranking building up heat it eventualy starts

  • @Richbowker coz a dieseling engine that means the engine is running with the key turnd off thats why i think the called it a diesel

  • Thumbs up for heavy duty battery!

  • Putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt ---------------- putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt BWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Starter and battery must love you :)..

  • This engine is worn out

  • french shit

  • nice battery!!!

  • @horacionav

    shame about the car lol

  • do u have the pump screwed out on her

  • WTF ??? You're wearing short pants and the tilte is "cold" ??? WHAT WAS THE TEMPERATURE ?? 1,5 degr. C above zero???

  • @quiteobserver cold start meaning starting the engine from cold

  • Dude get a new car will ya... I own Golf 4 1.9 SDI,1998, mine started a lot quicker with no glow plugs at -5 to -8 celsius. It must be spring on the video.

  • @frane1012

dude, it was bad at starting, i laugh when i see this video cause i put up with it for weeks, its starts pretty much normal now on three new glow plugs, shame one of them has sheared off flush with the head.

  • @frane1012 VW's are shit cars, I wouldn't have one if you gave me one, rusty, unreliable shit bags....

  • @discocreator76 :)).

  • hahahahahahah burn that starter! and an exhaust on a little diesel car...haha

  • was your fuel filter every changed, if not change it, bleed the system, by running the key, replace it, put in working GLOW plugs... and enjoy.

oh new air filter, or the K&N type should do the trick.

  • this is why u never buy a used car from a retarded skinhead with no brains

  • @suckitgood101 you should die cause you havent got a life

  • @packardbelllleb bend over american redneck mutt i was talking about skinheads not yank mutts

  • If it was direct injection engine you wouldn't have any troubles without preheating. It can be started in minus degrees with no problems.

  • Lol the dog must be laughing at the cloud of thick smoke after you revved it. XD

  • poor starter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nic fart can ricer

  • this has to be the cold start ive seen !

  • 1:40 Ho Shit !!!

  • ye fuck the battery and starter !

  • @mellowtrax100 hasn't fucked them yet

  • @Richbowker tough starter and batery then !

  • @mellowtrax100 my car has a bosch battery, its neary 4 years old now, hope the starter lasts as i'm off to france in it this year,

    cheers

  • @mellowtrax100 Standard issue for a diesel; they can be bastards to start so need good starters.

  • 14 years old you twat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Richbowker And what temperature was in the street?

  • what a heap of shite

  • @Richbowker 17 year old french shite, thats why

  • @Richbowker french shite

  • @southamptonsheroes biggest pile of shit iv seen

  • house music yeah

  • @BALROGG111 more like a bit of schranz . lol

  • yeah burn up that starter!!!!

  • what a battery!

  • hahahaha ohh man this brings me back! my lovely ford fiesta 1.8 diesel!

although my glowplugs worked fine! mine had just done over 264K miles.....

  • Стартер вам не жалко то? Столько крутить без остановки...? In English: Starter that isn't a pity to you? So much to twist without a stop...? In Ukraine we so don't do thet!!! :)

  • the car that could

  • parece que arranca con cumbia jaajajajja!!!!!!1

  • Where can i get a battery that can stand cranking for what, a minute and a half :P

  • haha, super battery and super car! I had one of these in dark metallic green. wish i'd never sold the damn thing.

  • i was always told you could put a bore exhaust on a diesel as that can have a knock on effect due to the pressure does any one know if this is true?

  • @allanmichealsmith

i take it you mean you should't put a big bore on a diesel?

from my experience with back pressure, it makes hardly no changes in performance or economy,

my 1978 trans am has no boxes in the system at all and sounds and drives a treat, see my video, and when i brought my peugeot with the standard box it drives just the same as it did before,

but like i say this is only from my experience

    cheers

  • its halfed the cost of fuel and it runs great on it i am getting more mileage out of it and its best used during summer as its a different mix to normal diesel you can still use it in the winter but you'll have to mix more normal diesel with it...

  • @puggti16

i was told if you put a cupfull of petrol into a drum of oil it drastically thins it so better for winter,

  • its defo worth taking the head off and getting that 4th glow plug sorted as all the 405's desiels are excellent cars i have a 405 1.9 td executive estate and she did the same put new plugs in she improved but still had probs starting first thing then put new intector seals in and that stopped the fuel going back over night doesn't cost much but you have to goto you local main dealer to get the washers as they are speacial type etc...and i am now runninng on bio diesel and talk about difference

  • a can on a diesel lol

  • @jango1968 you be suprised the ammount of people on here it offends!!

  • jebo vam pas majku pa ukljuci grejace stoko

  • The only thing hot in that car was the starter.

  • Run the rack. Check the glow plug relay; it may not be doing right. Else use starting fluid.

  • i bet thats a bastard in the winter

  • bastard wasnt the word, i brought it and the previous owner new it was like this, so i was unlucky!!

i have changed 3 of the 4 glow plugs and its muched better, but i can't change one of them as it has been sheared off flush with the head, i have tried welding a nut to it but no good, i would need to drill it out and helicoil it, but its too much work, si i'll put up with it,

  • @Richbowker ahh i see what ya mean, i changed the spark pug on my motorcycle and it snapped in the head, had to drill it out and and use a tap and die set, aweful job since you have to take the head off the engine

  • You shouldn't be sitting holdng her on the starter. If your glow plugs were already broken CHANGE THEM BEFORE STARTING IT!!!!!

  • I do believe that the fact of having no glow plugs isn't the biggest issue here. There's surely something wrong with your engine, maybe low compression, i don't know. Still I like your dog though :P

  • hi, if its low on compression would it run fine once its started? i have had 4 405 diesels and this seems to have as much power as the others

    cheers

  • yeh your an idiot if hes got no glow plugs then its not going to start well

  • @dilbert5150 It's an indirect injection Peugeot diesel. They NEVER start without heat, it's a trait of the type of engine.

  • @dilbert5150

they all run like that for a little while when cold, but this guy may have a bit of an air leak.

  • start prob, must react quickly !!!!!

  • are you stupid ?

  • are you

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • how can it be cold out your wearing shorts

  • its like a furnace on our boat!! and i was driving a concrete pump over 400 miles a day so wanted to be comfortable

  • p. s. don't let it go inside the intake

  • go to the pharmacy buy a bottle of ether wet a rag stick it in the intake start the car , cranking the car that long ruins the whole startig system got it now ?

  • hey have u heard of ether

  • either what

  • Wow - people are so easily offended, like this is their car or something. Thanks for posting your vid!

  • rev a cold diesel, that just screams ima fag

  • hey dude

    whats that stand for??

  • whats what stand for?

  • what a fucking wanker

  • why crank it that long, and why put that fart can on that damn thing? thats a disgrace 1*

  • i have to go to work you know, there was no other way to start it, this was it at its worst, we had a spell of cold weather and thats when i realised the glow plugs was so knacked.

i havw sinced changed them and its starts fine now. as for the backbox why not?? its a free world my friend its the child in me. take care

  • Smoke is a side effect of the engine not being hot enough to burn the fuel.

  • if it is so cold outside y would you be in a short sleved shirt nd shorts (retard)

  • man that cranking is like some trance beat xD

  • dont crank it that long

  • nice dog

  • COOL SMOKE !

  • this bloke is clearly a twat because firstly he has a big bore exhaust on a diesel (laughs) secondly you shouldnt crank for more that ten seconds at a time and you should leave at least 20 seconds before trying again

  • theres only one twat here and thats RETROFORDBOY!! WANKER

  • haha your hard lol in ur 405 with big bore daaa

  • @Richbowker i agree with u on that one :L

  • merry christmas to you arsewipe!! and happy new year lol

  • clearly your right although i wouldnt go as far as to call him a twat, rather stupidly the guy has decided to put a big bore on the diesel, when will people learn that it is TOTALLY WRONG and SENSLESS to fit such an exhaust to a diesel it looks out of place on that car and it just sounds so silly, and it makes the driver out to be a chav, put the standard pipe back on, then the car will sound and look much better, nice car minus the exhaust my dad had one of these for years, never failed

  • No need to touch the fueling, My 306 did the same, it had bad glow plugs. Started with enough cranking but its not good for it.

  • for some reason I LOVE the sound of the pug cranking over. Mine does the same thing when the plugs wear.

  • Yer turn the fueling up on the fuel pump . Will only need a small adjustmen , will sort it out . My 405 td did just that when i was playing with the fuel now its ok ..

  • Hi Rich. It will always be very difficult to start on 3 plugs. My 405 will not start at all unless all the plugs are in tip top condition. Use Bosch or NGK plugs. The misfire on your engine is indicitive of that when it does start. Also check that your fuel primer bulb is in tip top condition and that fuel is not draining back from the engine overnight. All the best RC

  • same here. The slightest bit of wear on the plugs and it takes AGES to start. A lot of firing and no starting, hahaha.

  • My 306 did that I upped the fueling. Worked for me.

  • fuck me i bet your starters red hot get yourself some easy start!
