ECW was still great back then, and NOT because of hardcore weapons, bloodbaths and TV-14 ratings, but because WWE had a great mixture of old and new talent who were WILLING to put on quality matches for ALL of the fans. Even in the final years when it was used as a footstool for the other shows, it put on the best matches of the week. Booking, exposure and passion for the sport isn't what it used to be.

I always thought it would be pretty funny if this match was sent back to 1998 on DVD in an envelope. The look on their faces would be priceless. "So let me get the straight, it's two WCW wrestlers in an ECW show in the WWF? What the hell? Wait, what is it? WWE?" Lmao.

WWE ECW was actually pretty fun to watch in 2006-2007. It was definately felt different than Raw or Smackdown in those years. Matches like this proved it. Hell, I would actually say Big Show's best time in the WWE would was in ECW due to him looking like a dominate monster and still having awesome matches.

I wish the Powers That Be within WWE kept ECW like this, e.g.: TV14 rating; it wouldnt matter if there were no ECW originals cleared to compete, atleast WWE would have more than just the PG shows to offer. They would've kept a wider audience too... ahh well.

I actually went to this match and I remember it was pretty amazing being there. It is interesting to see ric flair's crimsion mask in real life.

@TheRagev3 you say its horrible? I say its horrible that all the guys who got a chance to appear on WWECW had a chance to jump start or revitalize their careers. Now, most of them flounder in obscurity or Superstars. So, ECW was an excellent wrestling show. The WWE version anyways.

This was the last ECW match i remember enjoying but i stopped watching wrestling all together in 2006 maybe slightly after this.

2006 ECW = Great.

2007 ECW = Okay.

2008 ECW = Sucked.

2009 ECW = Pretty good, it didn't deserve that name but it was a good second show, still capable of doing great matches, the new superstars were all pretty talented, and unlike the previous year it didn't had main eventers taken off from other shows.
