I wonder how this was recorded. Voyager 1 and 2 has never visited Pluto in order to make recordings as those you know from the NASA Voyager Recordings albums.

I'm not entirely convinced this is the true sound of Pluto. It's too organized to be possible. In the odd chance this is indeed legitamite, it would in my personal opinion, the most beautiful sounding planet so far. Jupiter would be a close second.

@MechaShadowV2 Pluto does not orbit the sun on the ecliptic. There are also bigger objects than Pluto orbiting off the ecliptic. So scientists decided that all of these objects in the kuiper belt are not to be called planets. My guess is because of the way they orbit so differently than the rest of the planets...as well as the shear number of the objects in the kuiper belt.

@jrstok1 what i remeber reading is it has to have enough mass to be spherical in shape, orbit a star but not orbit a non stellar object (other wise its a moon) and clear it orbit of other debris, in other words, since pluto passes through neptunes orbit, it hasnt cleared its orbit of other objects, many kuiper belt and astroid belt object often cross each others orbit, thus they havent cleared it either, one prob though, both earth and jupiter regularly pass through a certain group of astroids.

@MechaShadowV2 as such, by there deffinition, jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is a dwarf planet, and earth, the largest known rocky planet, and at least the largest in our solar system, is also a dwarf planet, by there definition, of intersting note, when they first did this, they came out with a differnt definition, but a lot of younger astronomers wherent happy that pluto and a few of the newly discovered planitoids would be planets, and pushed for the definition to be changed
