Many times the tutor didn't work, then the laptop broke down, cheap and nasty seconds from the "company" they sent out a new laptop and new activation codes that never worked. The laptops preformed so slowly that it took half an hour to load anything. They're trying to make out they are trying to do the best for the children, when they just give them sloppy seconds.

Biggest scam artists, My parents got me the tutor program in 2006, they tried cancelling it and got declined. Still trying to cancel it today. They are complete rip-off's and if they won't cancel it like they said when I finish year 12, they will get theirs.

BTW....We didnt pay the 24% from Lombardo. We took a bank loan out to pay out Lombardo so we didnt have to pay that high percent rate. I'm just spewin, real bad. I cant even get an activation code now and im left with software, $5000 of it, and cant even use it. Im upset of the fact that could of used that money for bills or 1 on 1 tutoring. My wife was a sucker and listened to the salesman. It was like she was put on the spot and wanted to say yes. I pleaded with her at the time because i thought it was CRAZY paying that much money for SOFTWARE. She went ahead and bought it and look what happens, some years later it go's backrupt and then a company takes over and then they become dodgy. Now we are left with a $5000+ program that cant be activated again. Im stuck and cant even find a number to ring.

Its no surprise. My parents were also sucked in. it is an absolute ripoff! It doesn't help me at all! the program has nothing to do with the Syllabus, the qusetions are confusing, and it fails you if you get one question wrong in the exercises! there is so much that screams ripoff to me that it isn't funny!

Hey I have been using this program for like 6 monnths. If I cancelled my membership, Will they uninstall the program and take the disc away?

I want to try to burn the program on a disc and does it work after I install it again on my computer because it's not connected to the internet.

I work for a company in a similar field and no, it is not AIM. Simply letting people

know that not all companies are like this, and I am not promoting any company, so I will not

use the names of company or programs or any details about how they work specifically. One quick add on, from what I know, the reps of AIM are in the house for half hour, 1 tops, how can anyone sign anything in that period?

AIM provide the software & so called "tutor support" which is actually, a bunch of university

students. Our company actually does use qualified teachers as well as child ychologists and provide programs for maths, english, and also a program specifically designed for younger children and children with disabilities. This last program does not even use maths or english tasks, it is perceptual/brain development. Hence the child psychs.Already highlighting how dodgy AIM is.

The parents are specifically told howlong the kids are to use it each night or for a certain number of nights a week by the original tutor who actually installs the program and shows everyone how to use it and does assessments (this is not the sale, the installation), which begin the guidelines.The tutors are usually in the house for anywhere from 2-5 hours, depending on the number of kids, and their progress. We are also able to send more tutors out if there is any problems afterwards.

Then,parents are guided from the tutors (parents have to send reports to us so can monitor progress; this is compared to an average of the localauthority) n if they have any problems or the kids are finding there is touch,the parents can talk to the tutors and have theload reduced.The program will usually do this itself when a number of answers are in/correct it takes you forward and back difficulty/topics auto.AIM basically just say,whatever year your kid is in,click that year and topic.

The biggest complaint people have, with any company in our field is "the kids won't use it". Our company

makes it specifically clear, that it is our job to provide support, software, monitoring, and guidance, and that it is the parents job to make the kids use it, they are the parents, it is their job. If we have parents say they aren't sure weather or not the kids will use it, we are trained to pack up and leave.

No point in selling it if they are just going to ring up bitching a month later.

If it was $500 it would probably be worth it, since it's $5500, it would be a lot better to just send ya kids to a real tutor. Kumon is pretty good. $100 a month but it is for a good service.

ACA makes the Mathemagic people look like bastards, but they really just don't know how to price they're product. If the lady didn't know how much it would cost or if she could pay for it it's her fault. The salesman was doing his job, making something sound better than it is.

To be honest, you're sort of right. The actual program isn't the best, but I would imagine the content is up to date.

I wouldn't mind them charging so much for the program if it had a better gui. There really needs to be a lot of programming improvements to the actual coding. But I guess the target market isn't particularly well aware of what they can expect from a 5000 program. I don't think you can compare it this way, but every other 5000 program on the market has a lot more features.

Yes I'm a sucker-I admit it! I like to look for the best in people (obviously too idealistic). I've now met several people who've been sucked in also. With creative suite and windows you get what you're told you're getting. With Mathemagic, you don't even get close to what you're told you're getting! It's a pure scam! You are right. A smart person should do their research but many parents don't have time in their busy lives. But if they do, I hope they find this video!

You claim there are better programs, I guess then the company is to blame for having a really well penetrating marketing model. I guess the company is also to blame for your mistake of not researching before signing.

Despite that it has a hefty pricetag, the reason you can't get a refund is because you bought a LICENSE to use a COMPUTER PROGRAM. Here's an example which is the same scale as the MCT, if you buy let's just say, Creative Suite from Adobe, that'll set you back close to 3000 and that's for one computer and it doesn't include any upgrades.
