after i stop bcp i started having cystic acne! Only thing that helped me was 3 step clinic system for skin type 3... saved my skin for my wedding that just passed seriously perfect if you wear makeup daily. I use revlon (photofinish) or maybeline (dream liquid mousse OR Pure Makeup) Yes I have them all I like to switch it up lol. I have oily skin and breakouts.
@renator88 I apply my foundation with a clean wet sponge I find it works great or foundation brush but I find it heavier when applied with the brush. I never use my fingers because of my acne!
I have a skin care routine video on my page, that works for me :) And for makeup I use whatever and seem to be fine, as long as I wash my face well at night. I also used to use proactive, but I find the over the counter stuff I mentioned in my video are cheaper and work just as well. GL!!! And baby dust!!!!
If you have oily skin I would recommend using power or mineral foundation, nothing to heavy. I no you want to cover your acne but it will make it worst. Here on yt are some good videos about treating oily skin the natural way.
I too started getting adult achne at the age of 23... it sucks so bad! I use almay smart shade foundation.almay concelear to dot on the pimples.. then almay pressed powder.. It really works for me my skin looks like I don't have achne at all when I do this process. As far as face wash.. I use Nutragena cream cleanser, I have sensitive skin and it works good for me! Good luck girly.. hope you find what works for you!
I also have oily acne prone skin...I use Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser, St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Sensitive Skin, Cetaphil Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin and for Moisturizer I use Cetaphil Face Moisturizer SPF 15. I also use ORIGINAL Milk of Magnesia as a makeup primer, it soaks up my extra oil but does not dry my skin out, IT IS FANTASTIC...just dab with a cotton ball and swipe all over your face. For foundation I use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, it is fantastic!
for a brand you can get to target the best coverage is the revlon colorstay liquid for oily skin, It didnt break me out and alot does just be sure to double check that it oil free im about 99% it is though... it covers everything!
I've had acne since I was 12, it never went away. I actually use prescription medicines when I'm not pregnant. Since I can't use ANYTHING now, it's out of control again, but I use MAC make-up and I thank God for it every day, lol. I was told by a dermatologist a long time ago that it is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, I'm not sure if that is true but basically it's really good at covering blemishes and that's why I use it.
I use mineral makeup, I buy it at the local drugstore. Powder form. I think it is Physicians Formula.
I use the Oil Cleansing Method for cleaning. Google it, really helps clear out the pores. I have dry skin and the mineral powder isn't ideal for me, because I have dry skin, but for more oily it would be amazing! I have acne as well, but have had it since I was 11.
Mine manifests mostly as blackheads and whiteheads with a few red, cystic bumps just to seal the deal. As far as makeup, I switched from liquid to mineral makeup and that has helped me quite a bit!
And I know you aren't looking for this but, If proactive isn't working well, you could try a salicylic acid based product instead, there are a lot available, like neutrogena, bliss, and DDF, you may respond better to that than to benzoyl peroxide. :)
Revlon Colorstay Mineral foundation (and Photo Ready on occasions) is the only thing I can wear that doesn't break me out. I have very oily skin as well and with the Revlon Colorstay Mineral foundation, I've found I never have to touch up shiny patches during the day. It's inexpensive and definitely worth a shot.
I have had the same problem! Didn't have any problems with acne until I turned 23ish. I tried EVERYTHING. I know it's frustrating. I ordered the SkinID. AND IT WORKED!! :D I loved it!! I only used one months worth and I haven't had to use it again!! Now I used Loreal 360 Cream facewash. And that's just as amazing! It has a little tingle so I know it's working. :D That you can get at Target. Makeup wise... I used Mac products because they don't seem to break me out. Good luck!! :D
@tasharosalyn I haven't tried any Lush products, something I'll have to look into. And I have yet to try the goodness (so I've heard) of MAC products. I've just always stuck with mostly clinique except their foundation. Looks like I'll be doing some shopping. :)
I use Proactiv everyday and clean and clear ummm it's the blue one... to wash my face first. The proactiv is suppose to make your face worse before it gets better... have you stuck it out longer than a month? I don't use foundation.. I hate the feeling of it on my skin :(
@jaharshman Yeah, I've been using Proactiv for about a year. I should have noted that I always break out more during my period but this time has been really bad. I've been really picky about my make-up. I hate heavy foundations... Hopefully I'll find something that works. :)

TRy noncomodegenic products. And use bare mineral products.

@brokenpunkin I've used B.E. products, they are good! Maybe I should give them a try again. I just feel like I got through it too quickly. Hmmm...
