And dooly is right, baby shampoo (or spit) works fine on the mask, don't waste money on the little bottles of mask defog stuff they sell at the store.

Do remember to clean the new mask with non gel toothpaste really good.

Linz you know how the mask fogged?? before you go underwater, rub baby shampoo on the inside of the mask then rinse it with water but not too muchh and it keeps it from fogging when your underwater. It sucksss when it fogs underwater!!! So yea :)

You should get an under water camera and light and Vlog all your dives! That would be amazing! If you check out my channel, the first 3 video I uploaded were dive in Quebec where me and my dive buddy were freeing lobsters from a discarded fishing net. when i was 14, i had a lot of issues with depression and all that fun stuff, so my mom sent me on this trip by myself to the British Virgin Islands, where i lived on a sailboat for 3 weeks with 7 other teenagers, and i got certified in open water, and then advanced certified. it was a pretty amazing trip, and it changed my life =D

Don't worry about those information things you need to learn. Just remember this: gas remains constant despite temperature/pressure so dive then resurface as quick as possible and you can hold your breath a lot longer than they tell you (ignore that red line). ;)-

The dive shop should have told you to rub toothpaste on your new mask to get the coating off it? It will stop it from fogging. everyone spends the money to get there cert, then buys gear, then they don't do it anymore; a year passes and they try diving again and they know nothing. when you get your card you gotta get a bunch of dives in! dive dive dive. All the hard core scuba people dive a back plate & wing FYI =(save $300) and get better gear. Hog makes good stuff, for your 1st & 2nd stage.

I've gone scuba-ing before. It's a bit of a head trip to get used to it, but once you do it's one of the most relaxing and awesome experiences of your life.

There is a lot of math and understanding of buoyancy in scuba, but it's something you learn don't even have to think about when you're in the water

You need to get crest toothpaste and rub it on the inside of yalls mask and then it wont fog like that. Always carry a travel size tube in your scuba bag to use right before you dive to never have fog problems.
