I don't think the award is just based on popularity. Why is the world so into rewarding people just on popularity. I am sure Estelle got the award because of originality, talent, and popularity combined. There is nothing original about Leona. She is just another chip off the lineage of "next Whitney Houstons" carrying on in the traditions of Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and so forth.

Estelle is amazing and her success is so much more exciting than anyone else's she ran against. It's not an award about sales, its an award about achievement and Estelle has worked hard to achieved what most UK artist can't, without X Factor or the Universal Music Machine pulling the strings. Without a doubt, Estelle is the Best UK Female this year . Hands down.
