I agree with you. I've read/watched interviews where Tarja herself said she was ready to move on from Nightwish. The only reason she was upset was because the band accused her of some things she didn't agree with in their public letter to her. I wouldn't want Tarja to come back bc her heart and soul would not go into the music. Anette, however, is putting her heart and soul into the music because she wants to. Tarja was ready to move on long before she left and now she is happy =)

I love Anette when she is singing DPP material. It's a different sound than the old albums - a sound more suited for her voice. It's only when she tries to sing songs written for an operatic voice, that's when I have some problems.

Anette has improved and really relaxed herself in Nightwish. You can tell from the live shows, the first tour with Netty she used to shout a lot instead of singing, but now her voice is improved greatly. She has done herself well, well done to Netty!

Overall, she does a GREAT job, and I predict she will have a great future with this great band. No one else could have done the Dark Passion Play album as well as she did. She just nailed it. I could not agree with you more goopah. Anette is something of a godsend for Nightwish. Where would the guys be without her? With some mediocre Tarja impressionado? Dark Passion Play was one of the best albums Tuomas has so far written, on par with Century Child easily. Tarja was the perfect vocalist, she suited Nightwish entirely, but inevitably all good things come to an end. I am so glad that Anette has renewed the band and raised them to an all new high. Tarja and Anette are both supreme.

Besides the band didn't change their style completely just the style of the voice, the music is still the same. And besides Nightwish was already changing the style of singing in each album.
Tarja"s style of singing remained the same all the time, except they decided to leave the opera like singing off. Now the lead vocals of nightwish are poppy and that doesnt fit to the expression of music nightwish played during the years 1996-2005. Thats why some people are quite furious.
Also one thing worth of critizing, is that Anette misses the note way more often than Tarja did. Tarja singed and still sings also with way more clearer voice than Anette.
Anette doesn't always perform her best she sometimes has bad days but on this video she sings great imo. And Tarja also had her bad days, she wasn't always perfect live. And again comparing both of them is not right because they both have different styles.
Well, almost no singer is "perfect" live, and hey, that's the spirit of LIVE, if I want to hear a perfect song, I listen to the CD. But well, it may be true that Anette misses the notes more often than Tarja...But this is something a singer can work on.

true, i just read that interview on myself also. I just wonder, cos tuomas, emppu and tarja were school mates and still Tuomas fired Tarja because of that kind of thing. The name of the interview before that was "Anetten ja nightwishin välillä on kielimuuri(there"s a languagewall between Nightwish and Anette).
The problem they had with Tarja wasn't that she got a personal manager, it was that her manager stuck his nose where it didn't belong and she allowed it and followed along. Anette didn't get a personal manager is just a management agency or business to deal with the money she earns but not to tell the band what to do. And i read that there was language issue but between Anette and the management of Nightwish, is easier to do those types of business in your own language.
Well Anette recently made the deal, so we cant know what"s gonna happen in the future. If i would know that a band mate has fallen in love with my wife, i would be quite worried.

@ironheaven Of course they had a future with Tarja. She brought something to Symphonic metal that no one else has done before. Now with Anette they just sound Rocky and typical like every other band in the genre.
Now, I like Annett, don't get me wrong, but only when she sings the more original songs like this one, because they're written more for her voice, unlike the older ones that are meant for an operatic like Tarja.

I can barely hear the guitars, that's the problem. Yes, the keyboards and the drums are all well and good but the guitars also play a key role. And I don't like the way Anette sings this song live. Man, aren't I negative. :)

Tarja"s style of singing remained the same all the time, except they decided to leave the opera like singing off. Now the lead vocals of nightwish are poppy and that doesnt fit to the expression of music nightwish played during the years 1996-2005. Thats why some people are quite furious.

Anette doesn't always perform her best she sometimes has bad days but on this video she sings great imo. And Tarja also had her bad days, she wasn't always perfect live. And again comparing both of them is not right because they both have different styles.

Well, almost no singer is "perfect" live, and hey, that's the spirit of LIVE, if I want to hear a perfect song, I listen to the CD. But well, it may be true that Anette misses the notes more often than Tarja...But this is something a singer can work on.

The name of the interview before that was "Anetten ja nightwishin välillä on kielimuuri(there"s a languagewall between Nightwish and Anette).

The problem they had with Tarja wasn't that she got a personal manager, it was that her manager stuck his nose where it didn't belong and she allowed it and followed along. Anette didn't get a personal manager is just a management agency or business to deal with the money she earns but not to tell the band what to do. And i read that there was language issue but between Anette and the management of Nightwish, is easier to do those types of business in your own language.

Just to inform to everyone who claims that the new nightwish is the best. Tuomas gave an interview recently, where he said that there"s bit lack of trust between Anette and the other band members, since the personal manager deal Anette made in Sweden. So we shall see how long this new era wil last.

I'll stick by what I've always believed - Tarja did NOT make the band.
Listen to Tarja's songs now. She still has a great voice but the songs on the whole SUCK. She's nothing without Tuomas writing her music.
