In this video the F-15 (because it wasn't a MiG) held back on his turn in order to prevent a head on merge. This was high aspect BFM training, not a UFO interception.

Whoever posted this video is a jac ass. The aircraft filming from the cockpit isn't even Russian. Its an F-15. You can tell because of the ACES II ejection seat. Only the F-15, F-16, and F-22 use them. The canopy frame is clearly that of an F-15, and the pilot is chasing a target drone for WVR weapons training, most likely at Edwards AF Base in California. This video is gay.

I think the makers of this documentary would have investigated something like that. Also target frone or not that thing took off away from that fighter pretty damn fast.

I'm not saying that the events the pilot described did not happen. What I am saying is that the aircraft filming from the cockpit is an F-15, trust me , I KNOW the ACES II when I see it. Been sitting on one for six years now. About the speed: they crossed at 50+ degrees because there is another aircraft towing the drone they don't want to shoot.

@jeromeT1020 When aircraft cross or merge, the closer rate is directly proportional to the heading crossing angel. At angles greater than 25 degrees, it only takes what appears to be seconds for an aircraft to seemingly "accelerate" outside of the pursuers turn, even if it hasn't actually increased its airspeed at all. In this video the F-15 (because it wasn't a MiG) held back on his turn in order to prevent a head on merge. This was high aspect BFM training, not a UFO interception.
