Oath of Office? More like Oaf of Office!

When commissioning a new ship, sailors break a bottle across the bow. If the bottle fails to break, the ship is doomed to fail.

Stuttering Barrack Hussein Obama's failure to commit a few minutes to memorizing the oath of office is indicative of the way he will govern the United States. The significance and symbology of the oath of office is not minor. Barrack Hubris Obama should not have dismissed it as he did.

It was Chief Roberts--a Dumbya appointee--who messed up. It's pretty symbolic, actually, summing up the incompetence of the Bush presidency quite nicely.

It was Roberts who flubbed it, he put the word faithfully in the wrong place, and Obama paused to allow him to correct himself.

I stand corrected, what Chief Justice should've said was:

"That I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States."

Instead he said, "That I will execute the office to President to the United States, faithfully."

The moment became awkward and the Chief Justice needs to immediately, in a dignified way that suits his office, make an admission.

Our entire world situation is tenuous and we do not need bottom feeders on either side to make hay of this. We must move forward.

Voice Inflection? Roberts misplaced 'faithfully' after Obama prematuraley started. The assumption is Obama's early start led to Roberts subsequent error. But if Roberts 'voice inflection' implied he was stopping, then indeed it was Roberts who started the chain of errors? Whatever. I am a little embarrassed for both men, regardless of whose 'fault' it is.

Justice Roberts is the one who screwed up. First mistake - he slipped in "do solemnly swear" after his voice inflection made it appear he was going to hesitate after Obama's name.

Second screw up was all Robert's fault.

Actual words of the oath:

"faithfully execute the office of President of the United States."

Chief Justice version:

"That I will execute the office of President to the United States faithfully."

I'm sure Barack had it memorized the right way, thus his hesitation.
