if none of you read, the necronomicon is a book that is very important in the books written by H.P. Lovecraft. they should of had Cthulu, which is another H.P. Lovecraft creation.

After I discovered I couldn't get rid of the dog, I re-did the ending without taking the amulet.

I think you are thinking of Dogmeat, the "official" dog companion. This Pariah has been added by the mod, and you can't get rid of it even if you drop the amulet (at least, I certainly couldn't).
