I just noticed that the teapot and cups that Hyacinth and Elizabeth use toward the end of the clip are not her "Royal Doulton with the hand-painted Periwinkles" set that we see in "The New Vicar" episode. Does anyone know what set she is using? it's quite pretty!
In one episode she offered Elizabeth 'another cup of Earl Grey.' That's the only time I heard her actually say the kind of tea. Course Liz refused having just broke 'an irreplaceable tea cup!" haha
I like Hyacinth much better in the later episodes. I think she started out the series much too high strung and snotty...sometimes quite mean, even. In the later episodes she's much funnier because she's a little more relaxed I think.
@Jenny8817 The use of "your", "our" or "their" before people's names is used primarily in the northern areas of England. I'm from southern England and I don't use these expressions and no one I know does either. But from the midlands northward you begin to hear these expressions used frequently.
@Jenny8817 Please forgive me if I gave you the impression that you had upset me. You didn't. I too love the way people say "your" "our" etc. I was just explaining how this phenomena is not present all over the UK. I only made the comment as I know that some people are very interested in how we speak over here in Britain. Keep enjoying the show, it is wonderful.

I don't care for Elizabeth's character being so flippin jittery about drinking from good china. I feels it's over done and even I get annoyed when she drops or spills things...just like Hyacinth does..
I somehow don't think that this is the first episode of the first season. I might be wrong, but I'm sure that I've seen outtakes from the first episode of the first season, and this wasn't it.
Elizabeth looks a lot younger in the newer episodes. They didnt put makeup on her here! At around 5:50 she looks really old. I think she also lost weight as the series progressed. Shes still great tho and completely feel her pain :/ Thanks for posting!
LOL, the mug Daisy is using. Reminds me of when my dad received his family tree information in the mail and the person sent it in a shirtless David Hasselhoff folder.
Look at Elizabeth's face in 5:44. it shows how she is really scared of Hyacinth and forces herself to speak to her. typical Elizabeth but very very funny. Keeping Up Appearances is still one of my all time comedy sitcoms. thanks
i realy prefer shirley Stelfo as rose but the other one is good too, these always make me smile! :) and i realy think there is some attraction between liz n richard! thnax 4 positng agen!!!!!
i now kinda disagree with ma earier statement i think Mary Millar brought more life to rose and she was funnier but i still like shrily stelfox's perfumance as rose compleatly difernt to edna in emmerdale! god how crack up wacthin it! heehehe :D lv gee xxxxxx
anybody know where season 4 episode 8 or 9 are? im missing them in my collection and it really bums me to know that i downloaded the series and theyre missing from there and here. please comment back if they're comming soon or if you know where to find them...they seem funny
Season 4 episode 8 and 9 are "Sea fever" and "Angel Gabriel Blue" They are really christmas specials, so they are not really one of the episodes in that season.. kind of.
In the first season they did sort of imply that Richard had a bit of a crush on Elizabeth. There was a tiny bit of idea of that between them but really after Emitt shows up and is more and more a part of the show that pretty much goes out of the window. Most of Liz's interaction is with Emitt and Hyacynth.
if i was richard i'd let hyacinth open and close the car door herself.

At 4:08, does anyone hear the very faint chime just before Hyacinth says "Oh brave Daddy"? It occurs several times in this episode.
