yes the blade does lift on the return stroke, with the aid of the hydraulic cylinder,, but its well worn! and yes much more interesting to watch than a bandsaw, with a six inch capacity to boot
per-chase :P do you have the old three phase in there? I tried having a line laid to the house. Took 7 phone calls to speak a guy who knew what it even was. £1-2k if I did all the digging. He didn't like the idea of having the 3 phase meter near the single phase in anyway, wanted fire doors in the way and signs. he called the next week and said "looking at the layout for the road, the line is on the OPPOSITE side of the tarmac". that binned the idea right there, digging up the tarmac
nice saw! i am also building a homemade cold saw, which will use a slitting saw milling cutter. first i'll use a 63mm dia one, if it works well, i'll buy a 200mm slitting saw.
Hello mate, nice saw, i have a similar one myself, if i may add i think yours is running a touch too fast and it may well over heat the blaed, good work though !
thanx, agreed its a tad fast, im struggling finding the size of pulley i want, ie a 50mm with a 19mm bore, so making do with a 75mm, and a good splash of cutting fluid on the blade, god only knows what the neighbors think of the strange noises coming over the garden fence lol, regards Chris
Wow this brings back memories - my dad had one just like that in the 70s

crikey! I LOVE old machinery, but I can see why everyone has a band saw now. :D

@lexichronicle2
sorry to hear that, no ive just got single phase, which is a prob as some twin speed 3ph motors found in lathes/mills dont like convertors
