What does the dollar index declining do to the purchasing power of - literally - every dollar we all own?

Oh, that's right, it devalues it. And I know this -- we all own a LOT of dollars, right?

Companies still need 'yesterday's' price in euros in today's dollars -- meaning if the DX declines, you will see this in foreign companies' products "costing more" (that's a phrase we can all understand). They slowly raise prices to offset getting jipped on the dollar trade. Capice?

Am I wrong?
