Merci pour cette remarquable version sur un vinyle aujourd'hui rare...en tout cas difficile à trouver sur Paris !!! encore j'adore !!! respectueusement .
There are singers who sing the words and then there is Johnny Mathis. He makes the words sing. Such a voice and such feeling behind the voice. For so many years he has added magic to my life by making it seem possible to be young and in love forever. Thank you for posting all this wonder.
cybernautev, thanks for uploading this by Johnny. I was going to upload it until I checked and found your upload. Isn't this a great romantic song? Johnny makes it even better just by singing it.
Another beautiful song with its original intro! Thank you Johnny for singing so many great old standards as they were originally written! The intros are important to the understanding of the song's story.
(2of2)Johnny is a singer of love songs, this song is being sung in the signature style that has earned Johnny the reputation of being "one of the best" at singing love songs. I hope we are blessed with his presence for many, many years to come.
(1of2)Johnny a "sissy," how crude and judgmental. The meaning I found for sissy was -- A boy or man regarded as effeminate, A person regarded as timid or cowardly. Doesn't fit Johnny, AND we who are Johnny's long time fans have no problem with his right to live his life the way he is comfortable living it.
I'm In The Mood For Love was written by Dorothy Fields and Jimmy McHugh in 1935. It was introduced by Frances Langford in the movie "Every Night At Eight."
Trivia Note: It was also featured in the original Little Rascals, Our Gang short feature "The Pinch Singer. The song was sung by Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer and is said to be known as "his signature song."
The meaning of the word 'Sissy' is a person regarded as effeminate or cowardly and (chiefly offensive) an effeminate homosexual. Please don't EVER use this word on Mr. Mathis or other person. It doesn't show anything except how barbaric the speaker is. i humbly beseech you.
I just listened to Bryan Ferry's version. Yes it has a nice samba beat and his voice blends well with the song.
Johnny's version of the song shows off his vocals and the quality of the high notes he makes. It may not come through on the internet, but it certain does on vinyl. Yes, it's long and drawn out, but audio lovers are lying in wait for when Johnny dishes out those stupendous notes.
Ha, ha. Very funny. This song really sounds great on vinyle. I don't think it translates very well here, but his falsetto notes really shine through in an unusual way. It was made the album title and was the best cut.

Beautiful version but I like Bryan Ferry's version better - but them I'm biased because I've been in love with Bryan since 1972.

No doubt, Johnny is Great, but I think Barbra Streisand has done the best version of this song

@bedroomeyes8265 Technically yes, but I firmly believe it should be done with a solo guitar or uke and a male vocal.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That's terrible. He is sissy and this version is too syrupy. Bryan Ferry made is much better in 1999

Oh, I take that back. I think the title was "Johnny's Mood." Got a little carried away.
