I believe that's great singer Johnny Ray greeting her on the tarmac at 2:00. I think he was her musical director on her last tour. Is that her husband Mickey Deans with her at 3:00?
Boy, she sure looked so old and frail for 47. I loved her though. This is what drugs, and booze does to people folks. I know, I'm a recovering alcoholic. But, I don't look older than my age is the thing.
For all the positive or sympathetic comments below, this "film" is a pastiche of material that Mickey Deans allowed -- irresponsibly and with self-serving aims -- permitted to be filmed when his wife was in a critical state of mind and health. It is ghoulish, and Ms Garland would have been mortified by its exploitation. Pictures of Princess Di at the scene of her death, before any help arrived, anyone? You'll like this, too, if that's the case ...
@funkytune2006 Misunderstanding, perhaps. I was thinking of the way some of the newspapers here in Europe rushed to press with photos of the dying Diana in the Paris tunnel that were never to be printed here in the UK (nor, I think, in the US) in a manner that was indecorous and unbecoming. Those most authoritative when it comes to Garland agree that she would not have wished any of this to be seen, as anxious as she was about her image in those last days and weeks.
Judy Garland is such a tragic figure. Manipulated from a young age by studio bigwigs and her own mother. No wonder she had mental and addiction struggles. She never got to know what "normal" was.
She still has no peer. No gimmicks - no special effects. Sometimes, near the end, it wasn't perfect.Other times, it was just magic. The effect she had on an audience is hard to describe unless you were there. And - I was. Saw her a lot in those last 3 years. She was bright & very smart as well as funny. She laughed at herself with ease. One of the all time greats.
its not spelled "malmø", its spelled "malmö" ø is a letter used in denmark and norway, here in sweden the same letter looks like this: ö. and malmö is in sweden
I think her singing is out of sync because they overdubbed recordings from earlier in her career. By 1969, she was losing her voice, and sometimes couldn't perform.
The music is out of sync of her singing. Its hard to watch because of this and to cut away as she performs to show shots of her getting of a plane is just wrong.Still Loving you. Barb...
she still sounds good to me 1969, she missed out on so much life

@funkytune2006 And you're right. Judy's death was a real tragedy. Diana's death was an automobile accident.
