There seems to be more of "us" here in Seattle than where I grew up (NY). Not in a band at the moment but its on my list of things to do. It could go anywhere though, probably start with a heavy Jerry Reed, Michael Hedges, Jaco type Lenny Breau meets Kiss Alive 2 thing...
I have a Washburn XB102. 4-strings, and definetly not the same clear voice as it comes out from your bass guitar. It's a great song man, keep posting <3
I believe its a 505. Sorry no tabs. Its improv that becomes a composition and if I wrote all of my improvs out, well, I wouldn't have much time to play :)
Feel it out. You can learn this easily if you really want to.
hey is that an Ibanez SR505? cuz I'm getting the 506 very nice bass man....is there a tab or can you tab this out for me, my e mail is Synths@myway.com....you don't have to but i would love to see how this is played and try it out....thx good job man!
The harmonics come out differently based on the instrument, types of strings, and of course a little technique can't hurt. I've found that this particular Ibanez gets very clear harmonics, even over some other expensive models. However, there are always going to be trade-offs.
Oh, sorry thats not actually tapping is it? You are just using you fingers to hit the strings down. Ryknow from mudvayne does that (but harder) to get a slap sound for running metal lines.
Don't you ever change your shirt?

I should know the model offhand but I do know that its a Korean made 5 string. Excellent bass. Under $500 new at the time.

nice technique, does your sleeve touching the strings help the harmonics and dampen the unwanted string noise?
vakmere 4 years ago
I never thought about it before but I usually play with my sleeves up. The elastic in that shirt is gone.

he doesnt do it any harder....like chrorus for Happy he plays fairly light...you dont need to play hard at higher volumes
goldmember123 5 years ago
This would be tapping. By the way how do you get such easily tapped harmonics?
HSTBodacious 5 years ago
I must confess, I'm not a bass player. What should I call this technique?
graveljaw 5 years ago
Ehh? Your not a bass player ? O.o Wow! You must be a guitarist then?
MirokuKneda 5 years ago
Yep, a guitarist although I'll always aspire to be a well rounded musician rather than associated with a specific instrument :)
graveljaw 5 years ago
Good, but your other video sounded just like it.
Dont put slap in the tags unless you are going to.
