We performed this at all-fest honor choir last year haha it was awesome. We are doing Sitivit Anima Mea for All-State Honor Choir this year. Last year it was Io Mi Son Giovinetta
This near mirrors the performance my high school gave of this selection in 1992. Per my own director the quicker pace is explained by the innocent fluttering of emotions, and heart beat that underlies the piece. The piece to our choir came alive with this interpretation. It was also the speed more or less of an 'excited speaker' and not one who simply watched a flower from afar.
@choirmeyer agreed. I'm singing this with Northwestern State University's "University Singers" and we take at the faster pace with various nuances. And with a lot of energy as heard here. Absolutely lovely.
Yae! I could her my Bass 1 part at the end. I love this song; it's probably my favorite out of the songs we did at the GMEA District III Honors Chorus, besides Die Nachtigall. Good job, but as others have stated, gentle, and connect to the music.
like everyone else commenting, my class sang this song. You're dynamics are great, but i also think it could be slower and more gentle, its a love song.
i also like this song but they took the tempo too fast. I sang it last week and it was way slower and softer. let more of the meaning come out but it was still good.
i love this song. sang it in choir myself. The only thing I have to say is, why did you do it so loud and fast? Make love to the music. Caress the sounds, don't hit it. You sang it like a spiritual. Nothing wrong with that, just that the song isn't a spiritual.
