  • llol...louise from family guy

  • Orange has a LONG O sound.

  • @MegaKnight74 But New Yorkers pronounce it with an AWE sound.

  • Hey Joey, Its Estelle!

  • I got here from watching samurai anime duels.

  • She speaks like she's suppose to be a real teacher.. my brain blocks out the information because of school by default. That is so strange.

  • fo the luv a gawd wat orda ar thes videos in?

  • I'm going to soich for my oith woim with my arange fatha

  • I think this is more for actors than to try to represent all New Yorkers, that is literally impossible as it is melting pot and there are a large variety of accents!

  • "we're unrounding it, it's hard" what your turd!

  • no one says SPU as in spa.lmfao

  • This woman is full of crap - she has little idea as to what she'd talking about, and is she is a NYC native something is wrong, I'd say there is NO way she is.

This is an idiot at work

  • click on the video and press 6

  • The way she's pronouced some of the words sound more like my accent. And I'm Australian. ._.

  • This sounds a little more Connecticut, or Boston maybe?... honestly though people wouldn't think you sounded stupid in New York because they might think "oh, they're from Connecticut.." or whatever. Obviously, everyone who makes sure to tell her that she's not absolutely correct about everything - not even each person pronounces things the same, so of course things vary and change all the time, ok?

  • I actually like these videos. ^_^;

    They're very informative for me.

Thank you so much for having these videos. Really, they are a big help. <3

  • Fuck Expert Village. This shit is so over exagerated.

  • thats boston accent. ny is more like... fawtha.not fatha

  • She sounds like Lois from Family Guy. gtfo

  • sounds bostonian

  • FUCK YOU!

  • Fran from The Nanny, maybe? Lol

  • When she says father, I don't know about new york but it sounds more cockney :LLL

  • i'm irish and even i got to admit...this is the worst attempt at a new york accent i've ever heard!!

  • I think you should try to go to New York and talk to people before you make these stupid videos. Maybe years ago people sound like that, however that accent is been gone. Oh yeah here is an advice, if you do go to New York don't speak like that somebody will just punch in the face.

  • Wow isn't it the nanny accent ?

  • Lmao at how she says fathaaa, dude she is trying to hard.

  • That is awesome. She has to power to transform her voice into that of a drunkard by trying to imitate peoples accent. This girl needs to stop trying.

  • that's a Bahstin accent, pahk duh cah in hahvud yahd

  • I live in New York, and nobody talks like that, she needs to get her facts straight.

  • Lol it sounds like the lady in a family guy.. I've never in my life heard of that and I live right outside of new york XDDD I've only heard it by really old people on occasion.. And in comedies XD

  • Sounds more Aussie, especially when she says Father and Spa.

  • I lived in NY for a couple years, nd ppl dont sound lik dhat at awll!!SMH u sound dumb

  • people do talk like that............. in boston

  • I think your talking about Bostonion dilect...

  • BROOKLYN RAGE!!!

  • Sounds like Fran Fine's accent no?

  • I think some of you guys need to calm down a bit

the accent she's doing is the stereotypical accent of NY

it doesn't mean EVERYBODY speaks that why

but no matter what state or country you go to not every1 is going to have the same exact accent

so cool down and stop talking shit

  • @ZimaSecunda I'm using this for my school musical and it HAS to be stereotypical... just saying.

  • she has nice looking eyes

  • you sound like a child with severe down syndrome

  • I've heard people from NY speak and NONE of them sound like this lol. Lady, please, don't ever try any more accents.

  • is it me... OR does she sound aussie???

  • @alfuggboots no, you're just used to Steve Irwin.

  • @Faba1a Boston is most definetly NOT in New York, its in Massachusetts. haha

  • i think she is lovely thats all that matters

  • i did not seek the media they saw me ,john gotti

  • wacked

  • gotti the king

  • she probably taught gary oldman

  • moider the bum

  • This lady is ridiculous. No body from New York city, born after the 1950's talks the way she says we do. She needs to come back to New York and do her research. Its insulting if she 'teaches' people to talk like this. If you're young, don't even bother trying. You'll look like a fool.

  • Actually It is most likey the Newyork Jewish accent she is explaining

  • @MortuusImmortale catskill mountains

  • how about people stop being so negative? ok u don't like the video, but that doesnt mean that just cuz YOU don't like it nobody else will. and yea, maybe you don't talk like that, but there are thousands of people in New York, and there all not just like You. so why go off about it and put random curse words? it just brings people down.

  • @FireSax777 umm but no one talks like tht

  • @FireSax777 WHat is making people (rightfully) angry is not that she's completely ignorant regarding "the NY accent" (as if there were only one!), but that she's put herself in a position of authority and speaks as if she really knows what she's talking about...and she's teaching people A COMPLETELY LAUGHABLE ACCENT. I'm angry for all of the people trying to learn a convincing accent from this joke of a woman.

  • @FireSax777 Fuck you.

  • @FireSax777 Hi, I live in Queens and I'm about a half hour away from Manhattan.

The only time I've ever heard anyone speak like this was Joey Wheeler from Yugioh, and even he wasn't this bad.

  • Yes, yes, my jewish grandmother from Queens says "fathu" and "arange," but she also uses phrases like "schlepping" and "putz," so I don't really think that this crock of shit applies to the majority of New Yorkers, lest they all have close Yiddish-speaking relatives that immigrated from Austria during the turn of the century. No? I didn't fucking think so.

  • stop lying, only people that are itailian, and albanian talk like that( no offense to u guyz ur cool) but really nobody goes in the bronx, or manhattan saying that

  • i actually know people who talk like that that are from brooklyn, manhattan, etc. idk why y'all are getting so stupid about it.

  • blondie debbie harry thats the new york accent im after,or moider the bum, john gotti

  • I know right? ppl get so worked up about nothing these days...

  • wow thats so fucked up we don't sound like that its fuckin over exagerated.

  • lol this lady is fucking retarded.

  • lol i live in Brooklyn and commute to school in new york and let me tell ya: she has no idea what she is talking about. i don't know where she got this but we in NYC don't speak like that. The only video i saw where she said something true was the ING. we don't really say the g but its not as exaggerated as she showed.

  • It sounds more like a Long Island accent.

  • @SuDaixi i no x actly wat ur talkn bout.. i live in LI,NY nd im surrounded by all ppl from brooklyn... shes retrareded bro

  • yeah thats right i watched goodfellas its all bullshit

  • goodluck bcuz this particular vid is doing a boston accent not newyork or old newyork.

  • So, Paulie from LA Ink (who grew up in Brooklyn) is faking his heavy Brooklyn accent then??

  • Bitch this is a Boston accent. so you really need to get your shit straight!

  • oh god, don't listen to this lady. she has no idea what she's talking about.

  • This woman is a nutter and completely clueless about dialects. I've lived in NYC my entire life and never once have I heard anyone speak like her. You'd sound like a fool if you started speaking like that in a NY bar. She sounds like a bad comedienne doing a poor impersonation of a Boston-Long Island accent. Her British accents are even worse. I've no idea where they find these Expert Village tools. They're anything but experts

  • I think these dialect videos are a reference to those involved in the Theatre world. For we do many plays back in the 1950's with New York accents, and back then people did talk like that. They are teaching the stereotyped accents, which I think is pretty good.

  • totally agree like im using this for adelaide in guys and dolls and its perfect or poifect lol hahah

  • Wow, really? Our school is doing this exact same musical that's how I got directed to this video. Lol; I am not going to be in the play.. thought I was but vocally I am not talented.. so I am going to stick with tech.

  • yea haha i tried out like yesterday and yea i think i did pretty good, but we'll se! lol well thats cool tech is always awesome! but just remeber be confident! :)

  • that's totally wat I'm watching this for too! omg, I love adelaide!

  • omg! im a hot box girl!! yay!! and like 80 people tried out and only like 40 got in!!! yaay!!! and at where i tried out u have to be a good dancer, singer and actor to get it!! aha!!! im sooooo excited and soo surprised cuz im a horrible dancer lol!!! omg im excited!!!!!

  • @ritter89 nah, you probably saw fran drescher in your neighborhood once in a while

  • @ritter89 ... to each his own, one thing, if you are "really" from NY then you ought to know people here will do their thing and not give a flying duck about anybody else's bad comments so you are wasting your time if you think she will be insulted by your put down. If you don't like the video or don't agree with her accent demonstration how about making one of your own so we can compare? Just saying!

  • @ritter89 this is the accent in movies really.. xD..

  • @ritter89 I live in new york too, if you go to manhattan or queens, to where the italian, greek shops or delies and people from does decendents they peak like that, becuase they have lived in New york for generations.

  • @ritter89 are you from NY? because I live in Iowa and apparently we have an accent but I can't tell

  • @ritter89 wat the hell is wrong with you. Chill. Wtf. Looks like your successful in life.

  • your videos are great

  • The dialect shes talkn about is more Queens area.

  • nah man that is boston or new england in a nutshell

in New York the 'A' in the word "Stop" is not that exaggerated, not that nasal. in boston is more nasal.

  • I AGREE

  • ogosh if i talk like that shoot me cuz im frm new york and not in mi day have i talked like that. cuz im not fran drescher

  • thats boston... or a jew

  • her british accent is funnier.

  • no, fail

  • how about u get a life

  • Now she's talking Bostonian!

  • FATHER ha ha ha soooooo funny

    x]

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. no no no this sounds like shit. uggggfh

  • dass dem jersey niggaz n boston n rhode islan for real dats not us we dnt tlk lyke dat

  • She sounds like the Godfather, but it was what I was looking for so it works...

  • yo!!!

i just found out that a lot of ppl puttin comments on dis vid arent even from new york, they re just bored.

shes speaking the way italians in new speak, not blacks

  • k, new yorkers don't say fAthaw, we pronounced it fOthaw

  • when she "father" it sounds more boston than new york.

When I say father , i drop the "r" and elongate the "aw" sound.

  • lol have you ever been to new york? i mean seriously i live there all my life and we dont speak like that, but that's how black people speak. so i think its should be the black dialect not new york

  • shes likely never been in NY!

  • hahah trueee<3

  • it's not jewish, it's all long island. i'nm from massapequa and this is how my family talks. the city doesn't really talk like this, you'll get some people from brooklyn and queens who do.

  • Well, I am Irish Catholic and from Westchester and TAWK the same way, even though I live in hillbilly country now. you neva loooose it.. Thank Gawd.

  • Jews pretty much started New York Dialect you dumb fuck

  • You're talking like an old Jewish woman. Not a New Yorker. Get your stuff straight and stop making these videos until you learn what someone from NYC really sounds like.

  • Notice when she switches to the "NY" accent her voice gets like higher kinda, ppl don't do that

  • it is a jewish accent not nyc ......

btw lady choose a different career you suck big time

  • oh wow, I never really realized how similar jewish and brooklyn accents sound.

  • I'm in Upstate NY, lived on Long Island before, you don't sound upstate, you sound more LI to me.

  • lmfao this is kinda sad.. cause i just realized that i do speak like that.. >_>

i live near forest hills which is predominatly jewish and greek.. and yeah.. i speak like that.. "get in the cah, close da doah" -.-'

  • every one knows new york accent is secretly jewish accent

  • Dude, I agree with you 110%, and im puertorican. Its all a Jewish accent. I grew up in Rego Park which has been predominantly Jewish for many years and its so true.....Soich....Go to woik...Haven't ya hoid . hehe

  • how do you think you would say "get in the car" ?

  • In NYC we would say: Hey...getina cawh

  • hahaha!!!

Thats not a new york accent.

    sounds nasty.

  • wow no 1 talks like that here. she should get a real job or better hobby

  • this is shit

  • im from nyc

ive nevr heard anyone speak like that

    it sounds fuckin retarded

shes speaking an exagerated boston accent

    psssh

  • its more of a long island thing, i admit, ive heard this from my family. she does exaggerate some stuff, but this is pretty true for me. like "pot of coffee" is closer to "pat of cooaffee".

  • dis bitch wastin time lord kno she ain't from da ny dis iz white people how dey used 2 speak. Nobody talk like dat she probably went dere in da 80 or sumtin. cuz ha fact ain't straight

  • lol :D

  • i hope nobody listens to this and takes this video seriously... its obviously a joke video lol sahhwyy lmfao

  • wtf. thats not how new yorkers sound you fucking idot. you sound like a retard

  • Sounds Australian to me.

    Spa, father, LOL...

  • BULLPOOP + YOU SOUND BOSTON like BABY you are cute though its more like fawtha Lawnguyland instead of long island people drop last letters of first words and make them first letters of second words and usually dont enunciate but accents are different now then toity toird streed (33rd street)

  • i know.

    its very boston.

it has that high pitched boston thing going on.

lol but toity toid is very 1940's new york...

  • sry, the only time NYers talk like this is when we say orange. this sounds more Boston. Or perhaps a very very very Brooklyn accent.

  • WTH? This is so boston. Im from texas and i know that!!??!

  • this is amazing and so much like the accent, i need to learn this as i'm off to new york for 6 weeks and want to fit right in - this video will make me do this

  • The title of this video should be "How to speak with a Boston dialect." I was born and raised in NY and this sounds ridiculous.

  • EXACTLY!!

  • She is right here ONLY about the o in orange. Or even in Florida..

    Orange.. I pronounce it ARANGE.

But nobody says SPAHHH like they're from Boston. Get the hell out of here.. she's crazy

  • she needs to go to ny and see that NO ONE TALKS LIKE THIS.

  • This is something politicians are good at. Example: Hillary Clinton. Even though born in Illinois, she lived in Arkansas for a good while. And especially living with Bill's southern accent. Now that she is in NY, she is getting the hang of speaking as if she is from western part of NY. She almost takes it a little too far and begins to sound Canadian or from Michigan.

  • LMAO?????

  • Its amazing how wrong you are in each and every video. Please stop misleading people.

  • Too funny! She sounds like an old Jewish lady from a comedy film. Is she trying to be satirical or sincere about this as a dialect tool/"instructional video"? How can this be used as a standard New York accent?

  • i think she's stuck in past...that accent was in NY back in the 50's, 60's...we don't talk like that anymore

  • fantastic
