I am proud to say that I actually have 4 versions of this game : the original, a special edition version, the fes version, and the psp version. Played all 4....this theme was my favorite part of each time i played.
I can't help but laugh at all the thumbs down given to the previous comments, people are just embarassed that they fell into the category of guys who thought One-Winged Angel was the best, then liked The Battle For Everyone's Souls. I wouldn't call it over-rated, it's definitely a masterpiece. Meguro is a genius and I fell for all of his works. This is the successor of the One-Winged Angel, and it deserves to be.

The MC is a beast. On top of that, you're shooting yourself in the head with the muther fuggin spirit invoker which looks like a gun... The emoness is one of my favorite parts of PS3.
He's not emo unless you play him that way. At one point in the plot, Yukari calls him "Mr. Perfect". I think that about covers it. Like VideoRenz says, he's a beast. He's good at everything, he always says the right thing (if you know what you're doing) and he's the only one that retains his level and stats in new game plus. At which point his perfection is completely absurd.
if you think about it he's not emo, because he tries so hard to save the world... if he was emo and he heard the world was going to be destroyed, his only reaction would be "yay" or "about time" either that or he would have killed himself long before the storyline of this game had even begun

@clockhead112 You dont need to have played it to agree. Never played this game and its one of the best pieces in videogame music i've ever heard. the only complaint is that opera part. i really dont like it. but everything else more than makes up for it.
The opera part is heard throughout the game, and indeed, series. It's an iconic piece of music associated with the Velvet Room. If you'd have played the game, it's likely you'd apprieciate it more, since it really does make the final boss quite epic indeed, being the culmination of the entire game's events and all.
This song pulled me into the SMT verse, and life has never been the same.
