Well I'm not an oldskooler, but I really admire and respect it
BUT I'm from the "new gen", I've learned in a different way, I met the shuffle of nowadays. I admire some 'techniques' of today's shuffle.
May it be Oldskool or Newstyle, I still love shuffle. It doesn't matter if it comes from an old raver or a new kiddo. If they understand what 'expression' means, then I'll admire their shuffle and congrat their effort, maybe learn a thing or two

Well that was a shitty example of good clean modern hardstyle shuffling. Also I think a huge difference between the oldschool and the modern is that the latter is more of an actual shuffle motion whereas the mod. involved alot of sliding motion.

If you go out to clubs/raves etc and just make friends with people you can learn/improve that way. I never watched any video tutorials, never said "Hey, does my shuffle look good?" and asked for feedback or anything. Just kept going, and eventually my friends said I'd improved. Besides you can't really tell how good someone is after only 3 weeks. Good things come to those who wait.

dancing is a way to answer your bodies need to move to the music. the minute there's a right and wrong way for people to express themselves, i stop dancing. sorry but you have no place to criticize a freestyle dance people are going to whatever they want. your just going to have to get used to it. sorry.
IMO its up2the style of music. If its a punchy song, its what ur into, ur not going2dance with a nice smooth, floating rythem. If its softer then u r. I see it as2variants of the same thing, 1 harder & more raw, the other softer & more controlled. Technically i think its harder2perform in a more controlled manner, mistakes show up easily disrupting the flow. That doesnt mean its wrong2do it another way.. @ the end of the day its all about enjoying the music an having fun right.. do what u enjoy!

u dont get it. It hasn't "died out" and it never will. But the issue here is that more people are starting to shuffle but they're not doing the old style (which is the original and the best). And you're right, we don't have the right to tell people how to dance, but we do have the right to preserve something beautiful, that we hold dear to our hearts. People can dance how they want, just as long as they're not pretendign it's what it's not. Thanks for your input though, nice to see it from the other side.

It is true that most things in this world evolve, sometimes for the better, and I know that the shuffle will evolve too. But like others, I don't like what it has evolved into. The lack of technique is insulting to the original style and those who like the original style. It certainly seems like counter fitting in a sense, to call something that it is not and claim that it is.
