  • maybe you have heard this already seeing as this was posted almost 3 years ago but you should work on keeping your shoulders tight at the bottom so that you don't run into any shoulder injuries especially since the kipping pull up causes the negative part of the pull up to be really fast and really hard on your shoulders at the bottom.

    hopefully that made sense. Good job though, they may not be strict form pull ups but they still build functional strength. =] Keep it up.

  • kipping pull ups are good, especially when doing wods that combine alot of pu's with other cardio, aswell as amrap wods. just make sure ur chin goes all the way above the bar, other then that your doing great, def better then half these fatty crap talkers.

  • Next time, do real pull-ups.... that was pretty much garbage. It would be better for you in the long run to be able to knock out 10 slow, good form pull ups than 20-30 kipping ones. Save your shoulder a ton of pain too.

The fact that she did 13 at all is a good job don't see too many females doing that so just give her some credit she deserves.

  • I don't care if you're a girl or your a boy, you shouldn't waste time doing pull ups by kipping when those aren't even actual pull ups in the first place.

    If any thing, dedicate more time to doing them the right way than even trying at all and doing them a crappy kipping kind of way.

  • those are kipping pull ups, basically the equivalent of "girl push ups".. judging by the ammount you did, it looks like you can do several real pull ups.. maby you should just start doing sets of as many as possible untill you hit 20. you will be doing posting "13 real pull-ups by a girl" in no time.

  • @papasandbeer45 Kipping pull ups aren't like "girl push ups" -- they're a very different motion and a legit exercise in and of themselves.

  • just like modified pushups (girl pushups) are a legit exercise in them selves aswell. however kipping pullups can never be considered as "pull ups". this is especially so if your making a video titled "x amount of pull-ups" because they arnt a true test of the strength required from real pull ups.

  • @brianxcore45 actually, yes i do set the bench to over my body weight. and i believe the title of the video is "pull ups" not "kipping pull ups" . and look at her comment box under the video now, see!! negative reinforcement does work, you over overly specific, nit picky know it all.

  • @VDyevoich actually you can, the leg movement is called a "kip". It is used by people who are trying to develop a pull up since breaking the moment of inertia for this exercise can be difficult

  • Ok, please take this as constructive criticism. Good for you for exercising, but those were HORRIBLE pull ups. Slow it down and use strict form. If you can only do 2 or 3 with strict form that is fine, you would still be getting WAY more of the benefit than flailing around like that.

  • The flexed arm hang is where you hold a chinup in the "up" position (chin over the bar) as long as you can. Try for 60 seconds!
