Not only in Metal Gear Solid 2. Even in the original 'Metal Gear Solid', you can see (and hear) Nastasha Romanenko's explanation about that, if you equip Claymore Mines .

Actually, in this version, it's not transparent green, but because the polygons are more complicated, you still get a good outline of yourself. And I guess they could have, but it's an awful lot of effort to go for something that's essentially just a pain for the player.

Don't you get it? It's because those Claymore Mines are equipped with Stealth cammouflage that they should be looking like that (just like Solid Snake). And it's not that much of a pain.

That's what I meant, the stealth device in this game makes you transparent except for corners and edges of polygons, and because the updated graphics are more complicated, this actually works well. And the camouflage on the mines is a bit unnecessary considering it would technically require a second device which may not necessarily be automatic with the mine. Besides it's a minor detail not worth fighting over.

When you start the battle with Raven, wait for him to

walk to one side of the room, [then] you run to the other side. Get in

the prone position (crouch and move forward, but you knew that) and take

out your sniper rifle and shoot him at your leisure. He can't hit you

from that distance with his gun. You can beat him really quickly and

easily this way, and take no damage. I'm pretty sure this works for all difficulties.

It's cheap, but if you simply slide up to the corner of a metal container and wait for Raven to enter your view, you can tap the "A" button with the SOCOM equipped and nail him without taking any damage. Popping in and out of his view from my hiding spot was the only way I could beat in on Extreme. Good job, doing it realistically though,lol

The Strategy I use is incredibly better for the stinger is the best weapon you can possibly use cause it will even lock on even people use it on Raven he'll get serious payload. try that sometime dude.

i always placed some claymores so raven couldn't reach me without steping on them, then i took my nikita and tryed to get him arround a corner or from behind, if you hear a mine exploding you'l know when you should better get away, thats the best thing in this strategy.

Oh, and another thing I noticed is that you weren't observing Raven's patern too closely either. You're 3 minutes into the fight and you didn't even look where he's moving on the radar?? Since he's moving around the southeast corner of the warehouse a lot, you SHOULD set Claymores and C4s in that spot and you'll get him everytime. You can also track him better by equiping the Stinger and you'll see where he goes. Especially useful if you chose to turn off the radar prior to a new game.

That's not completely true. Real reason Raven's going around the mines is because Carlitonsp1 doesn't center the mines and Raven always walks the aisles dead center, so being able to set the Claymores just right is the the key in tihs battle.

That, and setting the C4s in the right places helps pretty well.

I think the Vulcan is a variation of the GAU-8/A, the massive 60mm rapid fire minigun they strap on the A-10 "Warthog". Just from the size of it, I'd guess it's around 200-220 pounds, and the ammo crate on his back is another 150 or so.

Very Close bugworrall, the GAU-8/A is actually a 30mm gatling rotary cannon. What Raven is using is the M61A1 Vulcan cannon, mounted on today's fighter jets: f-15, f-16. The M61 is a 20mm vulcan cannon weighing almost 250 lbs plus the power supply, and ammo drum. Not to mention the recoil that thing makes. Raven is a monster.

okay to set the record straight, a mini gun is about three feet long and usually uses .33 caliber or can be retro fitted with 7.62 mm bullets, the helicopters in the black hawk down movie use them. The thing Raven has is a 22mm vulcan cannon, which is mounted on most US military fighter planes, and the bullets can easily turn a armored Humvee into swiss cheese, if you dotn believe me, and think I'm full of crap, play the game and call Nastasha while your fighting this goon.

Have you ever tried beating him with Stun Grenades? I've found it to be the most effective method for me. Basically, you have to hide behind the opposite side of a crate Raven is near, throw a Stun Grenade out into the passage, and when he turns the corner, the flash should deplete his stamina. Not sure how effective it is on higher difficulties, though. You'd probably have to throw them pretty quickly.

Snake was injected with a virus known as FoxDie. It was programmed to kill certain people. Snake was sent NOT to get rid of Metal Gear Rex, but to kill all those involved with Liquid's "Outer Heaven" and "World Conquest" so that he would deliver Rex safe and undamaged to America.

Decoy Octopus was ordered to play as the DARPA Chief so that Snake would get the three cards that supposedly stopped Metal Gear Rex.

In the end, Snake got the three cards and activated Rex believing he was stopping it. The real DARPA chief is the one that's putrid inside the same cell as Snake's.

I think Ocelot was responsible for his death, he was "careless", according to Liquid.
