  • es tan bello ¡¡¡ :D

  • 1:50 such a sweet and sympathic smile... Ohhhhh, I love Pavarottis Oprasongs - BEAUTIFUL!!!! :)

  • one of my favorite voices, no one can replace him!

  • At 1:56 he looks like the Burger King

  • @jaredabccrisscross correction, sir, the burger king looks like Pavarotti.

  • Anytime I hear this, I feel like my neighbor is getting the shit beaten out of him by a 7 foot tall Russian

  • the best voice ever.

  • 1965

  • It always make me happy ^^

    Thank you guys ♥

  • "The young voice was gone in 1979" is a rather irrelevant comment. Last time I checked we were talking human's with exceptional ability, correct? In 1979, he was 44 years of age. The voice eventually darkens and takes a new flavor by this evolution. If some of you out there applied the same metric to, say...Mingo or Carreras, can you imagine the conclusions you would need to draw? A little common sense puhlease!

  • my mom like this si song

  • when i heard him in the 80's it was not so small anymore but he was pushing harder and lost some beauty The 1983 movie la donna was not very good sound wise and that may not be his fault but the recording it almost sounded nasal and his live ones are better. He was a pure lyric, not close to Spinto at all Bjorling with a lyric voice no bigger, in fact smaller as I remember it could sing some spinto roles, don carlo live and manrico but did not attempt what pav did even with greater low notes

  • I agree, from about 1980 Pavarotti's voice began to change and darken. I always say 1979 was the last year we heard his "young" voice. The performance of Nessun Dorma in 1979's joint recital with Joan Sutherland proves that. Search "nessun dorma 1979" if you haven't already. Trust me, it is worth it.

  • agreed! 1979 was the last year of his young-sounding voice. His Bohème from La Scala that year was just... truly awesome. Stratospheric. Other-worldly. Whatever positive adjective one would hurl at it, that run of performances with Pavarotti at La Scala was that spectacular.

But really by 1980, he seemed to lose the desire to add personality to the roles. I dunno, that's just what I observed.

  • No I agree. Indeed, it seems as if some of the deep inflection and feeling is gone. A good example of that would be questa o quella from 1966 (search "questa o quella pavarotti 1966 rome"), and then listening to a 1980s version. That 1966 version of questa o quella I think is the best performance on youtube.

  • Yes even Kraus who had a very small voice was heard to the back he stood front stage like Bjorling who was slightly bigger-- and was heard but when I first heard Pav. in 73 live in the house the voice was was rather small, later IT BECAME A GOOD MEDIUM SIZE BIGGER THEN OF COURSE BJORLING AND SURELY KRAUS BUT I LOVED KRAUS AS A SINGER EVEN MORE IN THE SAME ROLES EVEN WITH LESS VOICE, JUST MY PERSONAL thing NOT TO DIMINISH PAV OR HIS GREAT FANTATSIC BREATH CONTROL and the great warm person.

  • Bravo Luciano! We all miss you very much! The best lyrico-spinto/dramatico of our time!

  • Leggere/lyrico yes, but far from a spinto/dramatico...his voice was rather small in the house.

  • Leggere? You obviously never heard him in a house live! You should read Training Tenor Voices by Richard Miller, that would help you learn to classify the different types of tenor voices from an academic point of view.

  • Yes I have.

  • @GermanOperaSinger sorry man, I might be young, but Opera is my passion, and this dude was a BAD ASS

  • The concept of "large" voice is incomplete without mentioning projection. Pava never had a problem singing over the orchestra or not being heard in the back of the Met. Have you seen him live at the Met or any other large opera house?

  • @GermanOperaSinger

I want to hear Your Vioice

  • creo qu esta version es la mejor que he escuchado en la historia lenta y se iba nose hasta dodne.. la mejor interpretación de la historia de la dona e mobile....

  • NIIICE!

  • Why would someone negate my comment I wonder? Rather pathetic.

  • Thanks for posting this rendition by Big Pava...the C# in the finale is indeed a fine touch.
