The DREAM Act --if you're at all familiar with the legislation-- requires that these undocumented youth pay their dues to the country BEFORE they are granted legal citizenship; It's not like this is an unstipulated free-for-all form of amnesty...they must EARN that right to citizenship, just as you did -- but by either serving a minimum of 2 years in the U.S. military or 2 years in a university college. The DREAM Act will only benefit those individuals that truly WANT and DESERVE to be here.

The DREAM Act --if you're at all familiar with the legislation-- requires that these undocumented youth pay their dues to the country BEFORE they are granted legal citizenship; It's not like this is an unstipulated free-for-all form of amnesty...they must EARN that right to citizenship, just as you did -- but by either serving a minimum of 2 years in the U.S. military or 2 years in a university college. The DREAM Act will only benefit those individuals that truly WANT and DESERVE to be here.

Vietnamese here, but I support this law. My dad was adopted by an american soldier during the Vietnam War. Even tho that made him a US citizen, my dad still felt the need to repay the US back for their efforts in Vietnam and for bringing him over so he joined the military and served this country for 27 years in the Air Force. I live in New Mexico, where our immigration laws are made to CATER TO illegals, they are cared for MORE SO than US Citizens here.
