This dude WAS the show in Utah before Stockton and Malone. A freakin scoring machine, it's a crime the HOF waited this long to put him in. Too bad he couldn't win a championship.
Exactly - anybody who wants to learn about back to the basket play, should study AD - the guy was textbook, truly a brilliant approach to the game - how many 6'4 shooting guards have a 54 percent average from the floor? No one, that's who...
@juvserr agree.... A.D. WAS AS DOMINANT A PLAYER AS I HAVE EVER SEEN...ALWAYS AUTOMATIC FROM AROUND 12 FEET IN IT SEEMED LIKE...HE WAS LETHAL AGAINST BIRD AND THE CELTICS...A.D. DOESN'T EVEN GET MENTIONED IN BEST OF ALL TIME TALK, BUT IF I HAD TO PICK AN ALL-TIME LINEUP, A.D. WOULD BE MY FIRST OPTION OFF THE BENCH...A.D. ONE OF THE GREATEST...
@justcruzzinn I have to say the NBA 2 day is boring - pick & roll, kick out, pick & roll, kick out - my god, give my the days of bird & magic, Dr. J, bernard king & Dantley - just look at the way AD positioned himself perfectly for the feed in the low post, dipping inside to make contact, head fake, step back, open shot, over & over, plus drawing the foul - he was in the top 3 in FT attempts every year! incredible! so many young players today would learn a lot from watching this master..
People don't realize he scored over 30 pts per game as a 6'5 small forward, with 8 rpg, 6 apg and .540 fgp for like 3 or 4 seasons. His career field goal percentage leaves today's high scoring small forwards in the dust. Most scoring leaders take to many shots. With his field goal percentage during his scoring title years you could call this guy unselfish. This guy went to the free throw line more than any other player during his time, had the highest free throw shooting avg. etc. etc.
My grandfather talked about adrian dantley as if he was a god...A.D. was one of the best players...he should of got more recognition for all he put in for utah
