my cichlid do that all day long,and u can put the cichlid in a pond,but u must have a heater a lots of enrichment,if u dont have a heater your fish will100% die.

These are so awesome. One question thoug? Ive heard that these are a friendly type of chiclid. Can I put them in my 65 gallon tank with zebra danios, glofisg, tetras, tiger bars, beon tetras. I will provide hiding spots for them, and nice sand they can "roll in"?? I will get 2 or 3 so they can keep company.???please tell me??

you were mislead.. fish have so many different personalities its like saying black people are all violent or something. understand? point is, your labs are MOST LIKELY to become the alpha species in the tank within a weak if they are similar in size to the other fish. their probably going to kill the tetras though..

get the labs small..

You only put Placos/Sharks/Algae Eaters with cichlids. You should not put Goldfishes with cichlids!!!!

I wouldn't recommend it; however, I have managed to keep one electric yellow with a tank of serpae tetras and barbs. It's possibly because I got him when he was very small, or maybe I just got lucky. He can be aggressive when stressed, but generally he is quite peaceful...

?DO u have to have sand in your tank or can u have normal gravel in your tank

Nah, I have in my tank whats called crushed coral, or coral gravel, its good for keeping the water hard because it leaches minirals into the water, but im thinking of changing to sand as it looks alot nicer.
