With that experience you start making the difference between the sounds you like and the sounds you don't. (Some like Blast, some like groove, some like Pigs some like Gutteral) For a noob everything sounds idem, but all these names are there for the experts to choose exactly the sound they like xD

Just try to get used to them. Anyway, if it's grindcore then the vocals are probably meant to be taken as a joke (check out torsofuck). But in Death Metal and Brutal Death the vocals are meant to be appreciated as an important part of the song. Check out Gorguts and then Cannibal Corpse. They're both growls but they have a very different intention.

I love goregrind - it's easy listening in a very strange sort of way. The vocals shouldn't be looked into, try and appreciate them for their unquestionable fucking weirdness.

I also love old-school death metal like Pestilence and Morbid Angel, and one or two new bands. Goregrind is a nice little escape into complete and utter insanity.
