    Finally started workin' on the second town.

    Got some stress to deal with around college and women and shit so I couldn't focus much on the game, but seems I'm back to normal now and will resume work :D

    I'm slow, but hey I'm in no hurry this is just a fun lil project I'm working on when I got the time...and I love it a lot!

    lol you can't download it man, I'm working on it.

    In fact I'm working on it as I type this.

    I had to remake the entire first non dungeon area so that set me back a lot, but now I'm done with that and am working on new stuff.

    I don't know when or if I'll finish this game, but I sure as hell am having a blast working on it I just take my time.

  • @springyiswkd Thanks man! I replaced all trees with better, slightly more detailed versions, well it's the same trees but I drew leaves on and they look much better.

    I finally got around to working on the interiors now, I was putting this off because it's boring as all hell drawing furniture and crap, but it'll be worth it in the end.

    I'm hoping to draw 50% of the world by April or May but who knows if I will, this takes a lot of time to draw properly. I'm about 35 or 40% done with the world.

  • @matataka If I end up releasing this the music will have to go though, I'll have to replace with something custom made or public domain.

    The dungeon I m working on right now uses music from Nier lol, the town I'll be working on after im done with this will also use Nier music but I can't release the game like that.

    there's no way in hell this is comin out any time soon dude, but I am working on it.

    I just had some computer trouble for about a month now, blown PSU and shit so that slowed my development down a bit but I'm working as hard as I can to make up for wasted time.

    I hit Fall now, that's half way through or close to half way through I guess, but I'm still building the world, it's a huge world and I'm drawing everything myself.

    As I once said, I'd say this will come out sometime 2012.

  • Mate you don't need to point out every single little mistake or unfinished bit of this game. Most people who watch this wont have a clue about game design and won't even notice. You seem petrified at the idea of someone saying its shit or giving you a bad rating. DONT WORRY! This game you have made is brilliant! It's really unique and raw, straight from you imagination. As far as I'm concerned it gets 5 stars. Well done!

  • @VXRPGMaker I don't remember what the script is called and I'm on my netbook now because my computer's PSU died, but iit's a script made by some Japanese guy that was translated to English. The script lets you lock the panorama to the map. You sacrifice parallax scrolling but get more control over your background image, details and everything it's awesome.

    I didn't add tags on purpose, I want this kept as private as possible for now.

    When I release an actual trailer for the game, then sure advertising would be nice but for now this is just for me, LUElinks, NGG and some of the people who are still subscribed for me if they care.

  • @JustGreggie Thanks man, but it's way too early for that. I'm only working on my 3rd dungeon now, I'm very slow because I play games too much. I'll talk about this game more openly once I have all my environments done, that's all dungeons and most non dungeon environments.

    I mean NOBODY outside of LL and NGG even knows what this game actually is...and it's something so weird it'll put a ton of people off :) but that's ok since well it's a game I'm making for myself first and foremost.

    for my second dungeon I'm using a track from NIER(a severely underrated and underappreciated game btw)

    I was going to stay to Joe Hisashi exclusively but NIER's OST blew me away and I just had to use some of it in my game.

    I'm almost done with my 2nd dungeon btw, well the dungeon layout is done 100% I'm just drawing the backgrounds for it now.

  • Whoa!!! You drew all of this!? o___O;; *gulps then praises you* Now... if I could change 1 thing in this, it would be to have the Fox call Dolly 'hon' instead of 'honey' or actually use both, but sometimes just say 'hon'. Tee-Hee!! Idk why but that word 'hon' makes me all giggly in my tummy.

    man I'm really glad you like this, I'm working real hard on this game and I honestly hope to finish it by 2012.

  • @ShinigamiKiba and you're working on all of this by yourself? You deserve treasures for your work. I can't even seem to finishing my demo remake of FF3 (nes version) in the style of the GBC zelda games. I get distracted too easily. I already have a lot done though, but I can't do it alone. -_-; So yeah, you need treasures for your devotion!

    Thanks I get very distracted by stuff too so don't worry about it ) I take my sweet time with this, if it was someone else probably 50% of the game would've been done by now but I'm pretty darn slow, not to mention I play games A LOT. Finished Dragon Quest 5 DS the other day, now im playing Sands of Destruction and I have a ton of other games to play too :) so dont worry too much about being slow lol

If I think the graphics are pretty, I feel an itch to RIP 'em and put 'em in a chipset, and that distracts me from both making & playing. -_-;; Those SNES dragon quest games has prettiful tiles. Even if I don't use 'em I still has to set 'em up. That goes with battle animation sets as well. Now just recently I've evolved to ripping PSX graphics. Nabbed FFT's Cure spell, and that took a few good hours. x_x;

  • Nicely done. However, I would like to point out some flaws, because I love to help with these sort of things:

    First, the animations are just WAY too choppy.It almost looks like moving papercuts. Second, the protagonist you play as is ridiculously lame designed. I react to this mainly because I am a character designer myself. For all the amazing designs the creatures has, the player character looks like a joke. He looks generic and unappealing. I can design a new version of him if you like?

  • Right after the obviously seamed pillars you said you need to fix, you get to the top of the cliff and theres a rock formation that looks entirely mirrored and cheesy.

    but there's nothing to it, it's just an RPG Maker XP game, anyone could make this, hell people make better stuff than this with it. It's just that I'm a graphics whore and go all out with my visuals, everything you see here and in my other non dungeon environments video is drawn by me.

  • @Kronikwookie because those creatures come later in the game, I don't want to start with cool stuff right off the bat.

    Though I personally like the furry one eyed creatures a lot, after all this game has a more I suppose Miyazaki like style.

  • Looks beautiful but how is the player supposed to know when/where they can move forward or back in the environment without some sense of depth? It's impossible to tell what's reachable and what's a part of the background the way it is now.  Everything is pretty but also very flat looking. I understand why you said you were doing it, but it would really be to your player's benefit if you didn't.

    The jumping is like in most JRPGs, you can't jump unless you stand over an actual jump spot making it so you can't ever miss a jump.

    There doesn't seem to be much you can do as far as depth in RMXP, I even had to get rid of the parallax scrolling RPG Maker has by default because it didn't work right with my dungeon layout.

    Man have you played old school, 16bit JRPGs? Those don't have much depth either.

  • As cool as it is that you pulled this off in RMXP, it's pretty stupid that you're using RMXP and not something where you don't have to jump through a million loop holes.
