Very nice video. The camjob and editing was excellent. Nice also to get a name (downwash) for what I´ve experienced many times. The heli suddenly drops and you have to increase pitch for a while.
Thank you very much for your comments and watching my videos. The downwash effect causes when you fly down from up to the ground. The air under the rotor streams away from the center up around the rotor blade like a donout shape and this effect sucks the heli to the ground. The effect begins approx between on and a half meter over the ground and depends to the ground surface.
Nice! Ive just watched a few of your videos from the first Blade ones and you progressed well! Keep on flying :D Im just starting out myself with the HBFP.
After crashing 4 times and rebuilding it 4 times, I'm carefull too. When I get better I will post a video, until then I will watch yours. Thanks from Chicago.
sweet flight and landing mate ;) top grade 5* careful when you think about the 500 size heli tho it might make you stop flying the 400 all together lol i think more about selling off ALL my little heli's and getting more 500 class heli's the more i fly it :D
Hi, yes the 500 size helis are great too. But I love my two Blade 400 and the 400 class is the most difficult class. Very good for practice heli flying. I think my next heli will be a 700 size class in two years.
erm actually thats not quite true mate you will find that the 300 class is quite abit more dificult to to fly i,e the Honey Bee King 2 :) and if size is anything to go by alone then the new trex 250 might be more dificult still! i dont know about that last comment tho as the trex 250 looks more stable than the HBK2 imho but ive only seen youtube vids on the 250 where ive flown a few HBK2's and have three custom HBK2 builds in my stable :D and the B400 is waaay more stable than the king
Hey mate give me a shout if you sell decide to sell any of your Helis! Id be interested in the Blade for sure :D And maybe any of the others ;) Just drop me a PM bruva!
Nice flying in 3D mode =) I'm abit concerned about the landing place, if u miss it and the heli falls over the edge. Then the rotors might hit the landing place. :p
And you talk about the temperature on the gyro. I've read something about it, but don't remember what happend if its not cooled down.
How you do it? you just let the heli stand outside to get the correct temperature ? like here it is now -6degree outside, u think I can fly then ? =)
Hi, Thank you for your comment. Yes on cold days I am waiting about 15 minutes outside with the helicopter before takeoff, because of the gyro. I never flew at -6 degrees of Celsius but tell my if it is worked. ;-)
very good campfrankheli,i havent decided what i want, not much left stock on mine. i'll probably get a trex 500, and not spend any more money on it,unless i fly in to the wires.
The Trex 500 is a of course a real good helicopter. Good decission. But I think I will have enough with my Blade 400 for the next years. I will change when I can do evertything with this heli.
I got one of these and the fun factor is worth every penny. Nice vid!

What causes the downwash? Does it only happen when you change from forward flight to a hover?
