Great review. Answers I was looking for. I already have the program. I haven't worked out consecutively in so many years. The first time I did it I was worn out quickly. And I did make the mistake of using 10lb dumbells. I was sore for a week. I've been on the treadmill for a few weeks and thinking about getting back on this program.
Well, I need to ask you, I'm a " Stocky " BROAD shaped 32 Y/O Male, I've lost already 104 pounds and NOW I'm looking to lose another 75 MORE pounds, so, do you " Think " this would be right for me ? Thanks, Paull...
@iluvparfums I really don't think there are many people who wouldn't be able to do this. I have seen shows like The Biggest Loser, etc that the people are doing as difficult or more difficult than this is - so definitely don't see any reason why someone can't do this program. I'd always recommend this type of program out before you try to jump to anything like P90x, Insanity, Rushfit, etc.
@silkbutterfly15 I used dumbbells for most of the exercises instead of bands, but there are a few that really help to have the bands (they usually show it on the commercial). Whenever I was doing TMT, I was doing it with my wife and she was using bands and I used dumbbells and just ran in space when it didn't make sense for dumbbells. So, overall - I would say just start out w/out for a few weeks and then you'll know if it matters that much to you (to me it didn't).
Most of these moves during the 10 minutes are no joke, in fact I'd say it is AT LEAST equivalent to 10 minutes of P90X. It's lacking more upper body action but for everything else this program can definitely get you ideal results. You're not limited to just ONE 10 minute workout each day, it's recommended you build yourself eventually to 3 workouts. Got 10 minutes? Do one. Got time for another? Choose 2 for that day. Got 30 minutes?! BAM, 30 MINUTE TRAINER! Mr. Horton, you sir are a genius...
Awesome review. I appreciate that you took notes first (as you said in your vid) to keep your review brief & concise. It's irritating when people do a review and they just babble on & on & on. Your vid was very informative and it was good to hear your opinion on the type of people that 10 minute trainer is good for. Keep up the great work. I appreciate you taking the time to do this.
Thanks for the review. I didn't know how much is hyp on their web site. I am 65 and just retired. Weight 300 lb. I think this would get me started and I could not do the other programs. In my younger years it was weight training 2 hours a night with two days off. Now my weight plates are holding down my wood turning lathe. I keep failing to get started. Maybe 10 min work out can get me started back to fitness. They have 30 day refund and hopefully I will see some results be for then.
@fergusrb i think you have the right idea...you definitely should be able to do this program and at your own pace (as many videos as you want a day)...i think a big key is set a goal and let others know so that you can stay motivated and they can hold you accountable...and don't forget, diet diet diet :)
Thank you for your comments, I was watching the informercial on TV this morning and was wondering if the program was good for me. Now I know it may work to tone my body... one last thing... you said the words "you know" 9 times in 10 minutes.... it must be the camera and your audience right behind it that gives you a little bit of stress. Keep up the good work!
Note: this product is great! However, when you do it, make sure you put your bands on the HINGES side of the door! Not on the side where the handle is. Let's just say that I won't be able to bend over for a while.
such an informative video. i'm a female and really appreciate how much you stressed that women would like it. i only need to lose about 20 pounds and i already bought the program so i hope i get awesome results!! thank you for your insight!!!!!
@brittanieee It's been about 9 months since you made this comment, so I was wondering if you've seen the results you've wanted and if you would recommend it?
I really appreciate your feedback on this program. I was debating on getting it.. I dont want to be huge, just want to stay tone, and this should work perfect for me.
This was excellent! Just what I needed to know. My husband does p90x regularly and I have finished one session, but need something less time consuming. You answered all of my questions. One tip for future reviews, don't rock in your chair. I get motion sickness and had to look away a few times. ;) Great review, great info! Thanks!
@mattmatt16 ha...well i stopped working out for some time and then finished up another round of p90x right before xmas...i had intended on doing a video, but my son was born and it's really difficult to beat my results that I had on 270 days, so it doesn't really make sense for me to post videos until I can beat that...at this point i just want to maintain a good look and not have to work out the rest of my life...so i'm taking months off and then doing p90x and continuing that pattern!
@themango69 I completely understand. Congradulations on the birth of your child! so exciting! Hey, I was wondering if you had skype or facebook by chance so that you can help me so i can get results as good as yours. And also you will be able to track my progress lol.
@mattmatt16 facebook, same name....at this point i've done p90x and other things so much that the main way i can get motivated is to gain 5 lbs back and have something come up (like vacation, etc) that gets me up to want to do another round...i'm probably more normal in that i don't really enjoy working out that much and i def don't enjoy eating completely healthy...at this point, what i'm doing seems to be working well for me :)
Thank you for the 411, this is just the reason that I wanted to start with this program, I wanted to get on the road to start to loose some weight and as you have said it will give one a sense of "completion" and" accomplishment". My plan is to go to p90x in time when I loose some weight and start to feel stronger. I agree, it is geared towards those of us that is very out of shape ( I fit the mold ) and would need a process to start with for something more. i plan order this month.
Hi, I'm wondering, do you think this would be good to use along side P90? I'm just starting out with P90 and it's going good so far but I'm finding that usually if I work out in the morning or fairly early I tend to feel like I should do something else in the evening so I'd like to find something to add on to my daily routine now and then.
@Firebabie211 ya, you'll find that overall TMT is great because it allows you to fit something extra in and not feel like, "damn, another hour!" you can pick and choose what you want to work and it's 10 min fast paced, so you should really never have an excuse not to at least do some workout every day. P90 is a good starter program to get someone prepared for P90x, but I too felt like the first phase of it was kinda easy - 2nd phase is harder/longer.
Hi! I recently got P90X and found that the exercises and very strict nutrition plan was a bit too advanced for me at this point. Im not in bad shape but im not in great shape neither (usually I would just walk for an hour a day to stay healthy as well as eat balanced meals). I was wondering if you would reccomend 10 minute trainer to start out and get my overall fitness level up before moving on to P90X? Im a beginner to resistance training
@wwetheundertaker for sure, it's quick workouts at fast paced but you should have no problems doing them and if followed consistently with good eating - it will get you results. They have their diet thing too, but not near as strict as P90x. As much as it sucks, unfortunately diet is very vital to overall success.
@clonex4500 sure, but don't think you can skip out on the nutrition...do both and you can easily lose fat and not have to do any of the heavy duty type stuff like P90x/insanity has.
@KRASIMIRpro cheaper to do any program at home, but you have to be dedicated and have will power to keep it up. You still need it at a gym, but if you were paying even more for a trainer then that is very good as well. Personally, i don't see why everyone wouldn't use a home program (P90x being one of the best).
@themango69 the thing about me is that i need to gain muscle mass for my football season in September and i know that with p90x you get more cuts than muscle so i was planning on gaining some more mass and then doing p90x
@themango69 i quit gym after a few months.. cause i hate driving and waiting for the weights... p90x i get started and then done before i could even find the time to get to the gym.
this is program is perfect for people like me, i work in construction and sometimes after 8 or 10 hours days im tired i dont feel like going to the gym, plus i also have a family so i need to spend time with my wife and kid, so 10 minute trainer after my day is excellent! and if i feel good and i have extra time i can add another workout.. this is not for people that have plenty of time, if you do .. try the p90x!!..
good point...at this point I have almost every beachbody program - so I mix up my days and do workouts from different programs every day and that way it keeps it different and doesn't get boring ever! It also works with the muscle confusion idea because all programs work different parts of the body.
it all depends how much extra fat you have, how hard you push and what your diet is like. losing weight is just a math formula...calories your body needs to be healthy plus calories you eat - minus calories you burn off from working out. If you make sure that the formula works out right, you will be losing weight constantly.
I'm 22 female, and have been overweight most of my life. Im going to give this a good try, I really need this. And the time is perfect since I both work and finishing my bachelors degree. I'm starting soon, probably next week when everything have arrived. I just want to burn fat, get lean and try to stay that way.
I've done both programs and I would say that overall I would choose the TmT video as it is less time for each one and with this you can choose how many videos you want to do each workout. I also like how it is no pause for 10 minutes so this is great for cardio as well. Good luck.
If you did 3 TMT videos a day (30 mins), I would expect for you to continue shredding fat and toning your body - but it's nothing like P90x when it comes to chest/back. It does a better job at toning your arms, core, legs, butt and shoulders than anything else. It is also something that I think you could stick with doing for a long time - whereas P90x is hard to "get up" for everyday for a long time.
I have the p90x + and did some of the stuff, the intervals was good, much more doable than the Insanity. I was actually thinking the same thing and just combining a bunch of routines to really cause muscle confusion. I was going to check out the Chalean as well.
After watching your review (well done) I think im going to start this today. I have scanned through the videos and they seem like good routines. I have done the p90x 2 1/2 times and feel i am plateauing with the routines. I got the plus as well, but i want to wait a month or so to start it. This seems like a great work out to continue to slim down which is more what i want. I will say i tried Insanity and it was twice as hard as the P90x plyo and i want to wait till spring to attempt it again!
Yea I have done Insanity and it is very difficult after the first month and hard to stick with. I think you'll find that the TMT trainer is easy to stick with and even if you can only do 1 video a day - you at least feel like you completed a whole video. I would shoot to do 3 videos a day and you can have a whole body experience and not feel lazy one bit! Good luck!
Yeah i feel like i will do 3 a day (I have the time) and do the ab routine 3 days a week like p90x, it will be great to have a new ab routine. Abripperx is just getting to easy. But yes Insanity just felt like a little more then i had at the moment. Seems like it will be good to get really ripped for summer, thus a spring start time. The p90x plus will be my winter workout. What is opinion of Power 90 i was looking at that as well?
Power90 the first level is too easy, but the 2nd level is good as well and not too long. You might look to see if any of your friends have the P90x+ because it has a few good workouts to add in the mix as well. I'm actually looking to do a mixture workout where i mix all of the beachbody videos that I like and cut down on the ones I don't like :)
so i have this product but i haven't really try it becuase due to the lack of space that i have. and i'm waiting til i move out and have more rooms. but i have tried it a couple of times, and when it comes to the abs work out, i find that it is really hard even when i'm doing the modify position, it's still challenging. is there any that i can make it easier?
I assume when you say that it's really hard you mean that you have trouble getting through it all without stopping - this is not abnormal as I have trouble with this after doing P90x. i'd recommend doing extra stuff afterwards for your abs to get them stronger and stronger - crunches, etc. You can find tons and tons of abs exercises online and just try to find ones that you specifically want to work (lower, upper, obliques). Good luck.
Thank you very much for this detailed review. I used P90X last year to train for Kilimanjaro and that REALLY worked. However, this year I am really pressed for time with work, travel, and other commitments. So, I've neglected working out b/c the thought of walking my dogs AND doing another 55 minute video after working 10+ hours a day makes me exhausted just thinking of it. This might be the solution for me since I power walk everyday and just need something to help maintain my muscle tone
Huge difference - 10 min trainer is for people out of shape and not looking to get "ripped" - but instead are looking to get toned and get better cardio. P90x is one of the toughest workouts available with alot of strength training involved that only a dedicated person could finish. I would recommend most people to start out with either 10 min trainer or P90 and then move to P90x when they are ready.
i've been doing alot of cardio and weight lifting and and 10mins wont get be going that just gets my heart rate up and then bam done and just like he said your suppose to do 3 videos a day = 30 mins so really its just a 30 min workout broken up and thats not as effective as gettin tired and pushin your for change bc you will get used to 10min workouts and going to need more of a challenge if your starting off go for it but it your already a couple months into workout 10mins is just going to fly
does this last 90 days like the other programs or is it different and is there a routine like in p90x where one day is a certain thing and the next day is something else
Thanks for the review! I really want to do P90x, but I don't think my body could take it. I'm 100 pounds overweight. My husband bought for himself, but I think I 'll start off with the 10 minute trainer and then I'll do the P90X. Your pics really gave me motivation! Thanks!
HI thank you so much for all this info awesome! I'm told my hubby to get this for my mother's day lol he got off easy anyway my problem is i don't have a middle door hinge for the band resistance plus my TV is not anywhere near a door .. is there anything i can use instead? thank you
As for the hinge, you don't have to have a hinge as you could still slip the band thing inside the door on the thin side. The only worries about this is that possibly eventually it could erode and break - but it is pretty sturdy. If you have pull up bar in door, you can put the band around this as well - different angle, but still works. Do you have a laptop or computer near a door? You could play the video from that. I use my laptop as I change my workout room alot. Good Luck!
Yes I have been on the fence about this for awhile. Is it worth it or not worth it? Im getting more and more convinced to to this particular exercise plan.
Great job! Keep it up as I think 30 days of 30 min a day (1 day off a week) and eating right will lose the pounds and increase your cardio/stamina leaps and bounds. Give yourself a reward for finishing 30 days of it and you'll have something to be more motivated for. Good luck!
My mom really enjoyed the way your explained this 10 minute workout. This is the longest she's been drawn into this work out, and she really wants to thank you. Lol She's deffinately sold now, thanks to you !!
thanks and one more thing, i have quite a low ceiling in my basement its probably 15 inches from my head im kinda nervous that i won't be able to do some workouts from p90x plyometrics being my main concern its the only place in my house i can really workout in ive seen people doing those rock star hops and i can totally see my self hitting my hand to the ceiling everytime are there alot of moves like that? If you have any input on that that would be great thanks again
15 inches is pretty low, but as an example I use my office once in awhile and it is about 27inches from top of head. I do have to take it easy on some of the exercises like one you mentioned and there are just a couple more. I wouldn't let that keep you from trying it, as you can always adjust workouts for it. A good example is they have a guy doing the video that has an artificial leg!! He simply alters some of the workouts and if he can do it - you can do it! Good Luck!
how long do you think i have to do ten minute trainer for before starting p90x im 6 ft 198 and i am not very physically active im almost done with my 3rd week and am seeing some results and have lost some weight, but i eventually want to do p90x and i was thinking maybe 90 days of tmt and then hopefully ill be in a little bit of shape to do it
I would recommend doing TMT for 30 days following the Accelerated Results exactly as outlined (meaning do 3 videos a day). That would be 30 min a day and if you can do that for 30 days, you are ready for P90x. The only thing that P90x will add that is going to be hard for you is the pushups and pullups. These are max rep exercises, so simply use knees or chair if you are unable to do alot and eventually you will increase reps. Good Luck!
Whats up Brandon! I actually use 10min trainer on Sundays...just to get a quick 20min workout...I'll mix and match every week. Alot of people do use it for maintance purposes...your right on the money on that bro!
I got the 10 Minute Trainer not too long ago and I got seriously run down doing "Total Body" and "Cardio". I hurt all over the next day! I don't blame the exercises, I believe I simply overdid it. I am seriously out of shape! I don't like using the rubber bands because it hurts my shoulders too much. My question is, how should I use the dumbbells if I don't use the rubber bands? Great review by the way. It is very informative!
If you haven't worked out for a long time, the pain/soreness is normal - so don't get discouraged as that just means you worked your muscles out well. I really think bands work great, but if you don't like them -- use REALLY small dumbbells (like 1-2 lbs). Most of the Cardio and Core Cardio you can't use dumbbells, but all the others just do same exercises using dumbbells. P90x bands are thicker/better,so you could try cheap ones at Target or something and see if that works better for you.
themango69, I appreciate your response so much. You were very informative and every question that I was thinking in my head, you answered it completely! I was about to purchase P90x and I have quite a bit too lose. Thank you so much. I am definitely going to start off with TMT. It was obvious to me that you were well informed and really paid attention to the most important info to share with people. Thanks again!
I've seen your results and I think its awsome, I've always been in good shape and health concious, but I wanted to see what the hype was and I've gotten good results and even better when i modified the goofy stuff i mentioned earlier and i don't need to work out as much. Its working smarter not longer. I wish i had more characters cuz i could go on forever. Oh speaking of goofy, the groucho walk, thats a funny one. I do think plyo is not bad for once a week, and chest and back is good routine.
P90X is good for people who just don't know better, and I know there is such a large cult following, its a sin to say anything negative about it. TMT, i've never done it, just making assumptions from your review. Didn't say barely working out, i said barely spend enough time, big diff. I didn't realize you had to do it 3x a day. Working out for 10 minutes even intensly is only going to burn so many calories, 3x a day i can see that. If that is the case it should be called TMT 3X a day.
Bottom line, do it & stick w/it, you will get results, however this is not the end all as people are brainwashed to beleive. Thank you for reading my overly long response, and I will get on here and talk shit, so nothing personal. peace
Well i guess you found a way to have more characters! While I agree that some are goofy, they are just designed to burn calories. I think what sets it apart from every other program is its changing up of exercises - not to mention the unique ones. It takes the peak issue away. I was working out at LA Fitness for 60 days straight 1 hour a day and could barely tell a difference (not to mention years of working out). I agree that you could get results doing any program, this just lays it all out.
another shit product by beach body. First p90x, you have to work out nonstop and only one or two of the cd's are worth a shit. Now we have TMT, where you barely spend any time working out. Well which is it fuckers. 8 hours or 1 hour a week.
Not sure this is worth a response, but first off....Nonstop is 1 hour a day 6 days a week for 90 days to get in the best shape of your life? The only video I don't like doing is Yoga and that is just because it is too long, but every other workout is the best workout routine I've seen wrapped into 1 program. As far as TMT, they recommend 3 workouts a day 6 days a week - which is 30 min a day. You try to do the workouts and I guarantee you won't be thinking you're barely working out!
1 hour a day 6 days a week for 90 days is actually alot, especially since it is not necessary to work out that much to get in the best shape of your life. You follow any real plan for 90 days you will get great results and not have to work out 6 days for a hour. It tries to hard to be creative, to much fluff. Many of the resistance exercises are just goofy, and my main gripe is w/the cardio. Kicking, punching, pretending your shooting basketballs is not the most effective way to burn calories.
I am already thin, and is not interested in losing ANY weight! I don't have a lot of time to excercise but I really only want to tone and firm up (especially my legs, butt, arms, abs)....would you suggest I go ahead and purchase?
I apologize for that as I did not take any photos, but did lose about 3 pounds (already was at weight I wanted to be at and did not eat very healthy) and abs definitely got better. I would say area most improved was legs, abs and cardio/stamina. After doing TMT, I can now do everything in P90x easier than I did before. Now the workouts are fairly easy for me - all about the nutrition now! Good luck with your P90x!
Nice review...how about some before after pics or #'s? I'm in P90x right now and got 10 Min T for my wife...may use it myself after I finish my 90 days for maintenance. Tony Horton really is a good trainer, isn't he?
Thank you so much for the review.

I agree, it is geared towards those of us that is very out of shape ( I fit the mold ) and would need a process to start with for something more. i plan order this month.
iammadea2 1 year ago
Hi, I'm wondering, do you think this would be good to use along side P90? I'm just starting out with P90 and it's going good so far but I'm finding that usually if I work out in the morning or fairly early I tend to feel like I should do something else in the evening so I'd like to find something to add on to my daily routine now and then.
Firebabie211 1 year ago
@Firebabie211 ya, you'll find that overall TMT is great because it allows you to fit something extra in and not feel like, "damn, another hour!" you can pick and choose what you want to work and it's 10 min fast paced, so you should really never have an excuse not to at least do some workout every day. P90 is a good starter program to get someone prepared for P90x, but I too felt like the first phase of it was kinda easy - 2nd phase is harder/longer.
themango69 1 year ago
Im a beginner to resistance training
wwetheundertaker 1 year ago
@wwetheundertaker for sure, it's quick workouts at fast paced but you should have no problems doing them and if followed consistently with good eating - it will get you results. They have their diet thing too, but not near as strict as P90x. As much as it sucks, unfortunately diet is very vital to overall success.

@themango69 Thanks alot! I really appreciate the advice ill definitely go and buy 10 Minute Trainer then. Thanks again! :)

i have other programs for muscle but i need to lose fat first soo , yea
clonex4500 1 year ago
@clonex4500 sure, but don't think you can skip out on the nutrition...do both and you can easily lose fat and not have to do any of the heavy duty type stuff like P90x/insanity has.

KRASIMIRpro 1 year ago
@KRASIMIRpro cheaper to do any program at home, but you have to be dedicated and have will power to keep it up. You still need it at a gym, but if you were paying even more for a trainer then that is very good as well. Personally, i don't see why everyone wouldn't use a home program (P90x being one of the best).
themango69 1 year ago
@themango69 the thing about me is that i need to gain muscle mass for my football season in September and i know that with p90x you get more cuts than muscle so i was planning on gaining some more mass and then doing p90x
KRASIMIRpro 1 year ago
@themango69 i quit gym after a few months.. cause i hate driving and waiting for the weights... p90x i get started and then done before i could even find the time to get to the gym.

this is program is perfect for people like me, i work in construction and sometimes after 8 or 10 hours days im tired i dont feel like going to the gym, plus i also have a family so i need to spend time with my wife and kid, so 10 minute trainer after my day is excellent! and if i feel good and i have extra time i can add another workout.. this is not for people that have plenty of time, if you do .. try the p90x!!..
psyon00 2 years ago
good point...at this point I have almost every beachbody program - so I mix up my days and do workouts from different programs every day and that way it keeps it different and doesn't get boring ever! It also works with the muscle confusion idea because all programs work different parts of the body.
themango69 2 years ago
good, solid review
eitkoml 2 years ago
it all depends how much extra fat you have, how hard you push and what your diet is like. losing weight is just a math formula...calories your body needs to be healthy plus calories you eat - minus calories you burn off from working out. If you make sure that the formula works out right, you will be losing weight constantly.
themango69 2 years ago
I'm 22 female, and have been overweight most of my life. Im going to give this a good try, I really need this. And the time is perfect since I both work and finishing my bachelors degree. I'm starting soon, probably next week when everything have arrived. I just want to burn fat, get lean and try to stay that way.

i really want to tone up my arms and tummy is the p 90 or the 10 min trainer better for that .... can you do a compare video ?
disneydiva21 2 years ago
I've done both programs and I would say that overall I would choose the TmT video as it is less time for each one and with this you can choose how many videos you want to do each workout. I also like how it is no pause for 10 minutes so this is great for cardio as well. Good luck.

Im at day 77 of P90X .
I have lost 32 pounds...
I have a question ,After my 90 day, What do you think if I start the 10 min training?
Can I expect further improvement on my body, even if the training is shorter?
jimprice09 2 years ago
If you did 3 TMT videos a day (30 mins), I would expect for you to continue shredding fat and toning your body - but it's nothing like P90x when it comes to chest/back. It does a better job at toning your arms, core, legs, butt and shoulders than anything else. It is also something that I think you could stick with doing for a long time - whereas P90x is hard to "get up" for everyday for a long time.
themango69 2 years ago
hey, thanks for the review on this one. my friend told me about it today and I'm doing some research before I buy it. Sounds interesting!
alwayssmiling62 2 years ago
I have the p90x + and did some of the stuff, the intervals was good, much more doable than the Insanity. I was actually thinking the same thing and just combining a bunch of routines to really cause muscle confusion. I was going to check out the Chalean as well.
mixinbowl 2 years ago
After watching your review (well done) I think im going to start this today. I have scanned through the videos and they seem like good routines. I have done the p90x 2 1/2 times and feel i am plateauing with the routines. I got the plus as well, but i want to wait a month or so to start it. This seems like a great work out to continue to slim down which is more what i want. I will say i tried Insanity and it was twice as hard as the P90x plyo and i want to wait till spring to attempt it again!
mixinbowl 2 years ago
Yea I have done Insanity and it is very difficult after the first month and hard to stick with. I think you'll find that the TMT trainer is easy to stick with and even if you can only do 1 video a day - you at least feel like you completed a whole video. I would shoot to do 3 videos a day and you can have a whole body experience and not feel lazy one bit! Good luck!
themango69 2 years ago
Yeah i feel like i will do 3 a day (I have the time) and do the ab routine 3 days a week like p90x, it will be great to have a new ab routine. Abripperx is just getting to easy. But yes Insanity just felt like a little more then i had at the moment. Seems like it will be good to get really ripped for summer, thus a spring start time. The p90x plus will be my winter workout. What is opinion of Power 90 i was looking at that as well?
mixinbowl 2 years ago
Power90 the first level is too easy, but the 2nd level is good as well and not too long. You might look to see if any of your friends have the P90x+ because it has a few good workouts to add in the mix as well. I'm actually looking to do a mixture workout where i mix all of the beachbody videos that I like and cut down on the ones I don't like :)

i dont have the cardio belt. you said you didnt use the resistance bands do you need the cardio belt for the core cardio and cardio?
yoWTFitsJEREMY 2 years ago
you don't have to have it, but it really does help as it is providing the resistance - else you are just running in place with no resistance.
themango69 2 years ago
so i have this product but i haven't really try it becuase due to the lack of space that i have. and i'm waiting til i move out and have more rooms. but i have tried it a couple of times, and when it comes to the abs work out, i find that it is really hard even when i'm doing the modify position, it's still challenging. is there any that i can make it easier?
louvang08 2 years ago

This might be the solution for me since I power walk everyday and just need something to help maintain my muscle tone

whats the difference between the 10 min workout and P90x and which is better to do if your in shape and looking for abs.
hotguy4uandme 2 years ago
Huge difference - 10 min trainer is for people out of shape and not looking to get "ripped" - but instead are looking to get toned and get better cardio. P90x is one of the toughest workouts available with alot of strength training involved that only a dedicated person could finish. I would recommend most people to start out with either 10 min trainer or P90 and then move to P90x when they are ready.
themango69 2 years ago
thanks
hotguy4uandme 2 years ago
i've been doing alot of cardio and weight lifting and and 10mins wont get be going that just gets my heart rate up and then bam done and just like he said your suppose to do 3 videos a day = 30 mins so really its just a 30 min workout broken up and thats not as effective as gettin tired and pushin your for change bc you will get used to 10min workouts and going to need more of a challenge if your starting off go for it but it your already a couple months into workout 10mins is just going to fly

themango69 2 years ago
HI thank you so much for all this info awesome! I'm told my hubby to get this for my mother's day lol he got off easy anyway my problem is i don't have a middle door hinge for the band resistance plus my TV is not anywhere near a door .. is there anything i can use instead? thank you
paulinedavid88 2 years ago
As for the hinge, you don't have to have a hinge as you could still slip the band thing inside the door on the thin side. The only worries about this is that possibly eventually it could erode and break - but it is pretty sturdy. If you have pull up bar in door, you can put the band around this as well - different angle, but still works. Do you have a laptop or computer near a door? You could play the video from that. I use my laptop as I change my workout room alot. Good Luck!

Thank you so much for your input i do have a laptop so i will do so thanks again! : )

HEy I just did the 3 10 minute workout of the 2 day.
DRsegueta 2 years ago
Great job! Keep it up as I think 30 days of 30 min a day (1 day off a week) and eating right will lose the pounds and increase your cardio/stamina leaps and bounds. Give yourself a reward for finishing 30 days of it and you'll have something to be more motivated for. Good luck!

thanks and one more thing, i have quite a low ceiling in my basement its probably 15 inches from my head im kinda nervous that i won't be able to do some workouts from p90x plyometrics being my main concern its the only place in my house i can really workout in ive seen people doing those rock star hops and i can totally see my self hitting my hand to the ceiling everytime are there alot of moves like that? If you have any input on that that would be great thanks again
Junior1788 2 years ago
15 inches is pretty low, but as an example I use my office once in awhile and it is about 27inches from top of head. I do have to take it easy on some of the exercises like one you mentioned and there are just a couple more. I wouldn't let that keep you from trying it, as you can always adjust workouts for it. A good example is they have a guy doing the video that has an artificial leg!! He simply alters some of the workouts and if he can do it - you can do it! Good Luck!
themango69 2 years ago
how long do you think i have to do ten minute trainer for before starting p90x im 6 ft 198 and i am not very physically active im almost done with my 3rd week and am seeing some results and have lost some weight, but i eventually want to do p90x and i was thinking maybe 90 days of tmt and then hopefully ill be in a little bit of shape to do it
Junior1788 2 years ago
I would recommend doing TMT for 30 days following the Accelerated Results exactly as outlined (meaning do 3 videos a day). That would be 30 min a day and if you can do that for 30 days, you are ready for P90x. The only thing that P90x will add that is going to be hard for you is the pushups and pullups. These are max rep exercises, so simply use knees or chair if you are unable to do alot and eventually you will increase reps. Good Luck!
themango69 2 years ago
Whats up Brandon! I actually use 10min trainer on Sundays...just to get a quick 20min workout...I'll mix and match every week. Alot of people do use it for maintance purposes...your right on the money on that bro!
gospyder 2 years ago
I got the 10 Minute Trainer not too long ago and I got seriously run down doing "Total Body" and "Cardio". I hurt all over the next day! I don't blame the exercises, I believe I simply overdid it. I am seriously out of shape! I don't like using the rubber bands because it hurts my shoulders too much. My question is, how should I use the dumbbells if I don't use the rubber bands? Great review by the way. It is very informative!
chinagrrl 2 years ago
If you haven't worked out for a long time, the pain/soreness is normal - so don't get discouraged as that just means you worked your muscles out well. I really think bands work great, but if you don't like them -- use REALLY small dumbbells (like 1-2 lbs). Most of the Cardio and Core Cardio you can't use dumbbells, but all the others just do same exercises using dumbbells. P90x bands are thicker/better,so you could try cheap ones at Target or something and see if that works better for you.
themango69 2 years ago
themango69, I appreciate your response so much. You were very informative and every question that I was thinking in my head, you answered it completely! I was about to purchase P90x and I have quite a bit too lose. Thank you so much. I am definitely going to start off with TMT. It was obvious to me that you were well informed and really paid attention to the most important info to share with people. Thanks again!
elanders08 2 years ago
I've seen your results and I think its awsome, I've always been in good shape and health concious, but I wanted to see what the hype was and I've gotten good results and even better when i modified the goofy stuff i mentioned earlier and i don't need to work out as much. Its working smarter not longer. I wish i had more characters cuz i could go on forever. Oh speaking of goofy, the groucho walk, thats a funny one. I do think plyo is not bad for once a week, and chest and back is good routine.
doogie8480 2 years ago
P90X is good for people who just don't know better, and I know there is such a large cult following, its a sin to say anything negative about it. TMT, i've never done it, just making assumptions from your review. Didn't say barely working out, i said barely spend enough time, big diff. I didn't realize you had to do it 3x a day. Working out for 10 minutes even intensly is only going to burn so many calories, 3x a day i can see that. If that is the case it should be called TMT 3X a day.
doogie8480 2 years ago
Bottom line, do it & stick w/it, you will get results, however this is not the end all as people are brainwashed to beleive. Thank you for reading my overly long response, and I will get on here and talk shit, so nothing personal. peace
doogie8480 2 years ago
Well i guess you found a way to have more characters! While I agree that some are goofy, they are just designed to burn calories. I think what sets it apart from every other program is its changing up of exercises - not to mention the unique ones. It takes the peak issue away. I was working out at LA Fitness for 60 days straight 1 hour a day and could barely tell a difference (not to mention years of working out). I agree that you could get results doing any program, this just lays it all out.
themango69 2 years ago
I hear ya, good luck and countinued success with your fitness goals.
doogie8480 2 years ago
another shit product by beach body. First p90x, you have to work out nonstop and only one or two of the cd's are worth a shit. Now we have TMT, where you barely spend any time working out. Well which is it fuckers. 8 hours or 1 hour a week.
doogie8480 2 years ago
Not sure this is worth a response, but first off....Nonstop is 1 hour a day 6 days a week for 90 days to get in the best shape of your life? The only video I don't like doing is Yoga and that is just because it is too long, but every other workout is the best workout routine I've seen wrapped into 1 program. As far as TMT, they recommend 3 workouts a day 6 days a week - which is 30 min a day. You try to do the workouts and I guarantee you won't be thinking you're barely working out!
themango69 2 years ago
1 hour a day 6 days a week for 90 days is actually alot, especially since it is not necessary to work out that much to get in the best shape of your life. You follow any real plan for 90 days you will get great results and not have to work out 6 days for a hour. It tries to hard to be creative, to much fluff. Many of the resistance exercises are just goofy, and my main gripe is w/the cardio. Kicking, punching, pretending your shooting basketballs is not the most effective way to burn calories.
doogie8480 2 years ago
I am already thin, and is not interested in losing ANY weight! I don't have a lot of time to excercise but I really only want to tone and firm up (especially my legs, butt, arms, abs)....would you suggest I go ahead and purchase?
Chocolatte1 3 years ago
I apologize for that as I did not take any photos, but did lose about 3 pounds (already was at weight I wanted to be at and did not eat very healthy) and abs definitely got better. I would say area most improved was legs, abs and cardio/stamina. After doing TMT, I can now do everything in P90x easier than I did before. Now the workouts are fairly easy for me - all about the nutrition now! Good luck with your P90x!
