Why is it always the real talented ones that die of such horrible deaths, not of like natural causes, either overdose, or suicide, or a helicopter crash, or cancer, or car crash. Why not dying at the age of 85 because of heart attack or stroke.
I miss her so much When I sing along with this even though I know Johnny says I never got over those blue eyes, I say brown eyes because shes on my mind :/
I was told my mom used to listen to this song after my dad passed away, because it reminded her of him - the person who told me this, my stepdad. I listen to it now, remembering him as well. I <3 and miss you Daddy.
Imagine heaven with Waylon, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Roy Orbison, and the beat goes on with so many more, how about Patsy Cline in the mix, switch over to blues and listen to Otis, Billie Holiday...OMG heaven will be a glorious place
i lost a year a year ago, my dad and her were married for 26 years, this song just brings tears to my eyes, how my dad must miss her terribly, thnk you Johnny, we still miss you
A song from a broken heart always touches a broken heart... 'n' soothes it a bit... What everybody needs is love. If they don't find it in you, where are they going to find it? Can I comfort a lonely heart that passes by me today?
I like this song because it reminds alot of my wife who passed away 2 1/2 years ago. after all this time I still miss her everyday. She was the best thing in my life.
Heavens to Murgatgroid! I haven't heard this song in many years. Have always loved the tune. For some reason the title kept running thru my head this morning while I was out walking. How groovy to see so many versions of it here at youtube. The late great Mr Cash was a genius...not only a talented performer but a gifted songwriter. THANK YOU for posting this...you've MADE my day! :)
@boazyu that is not elton john, it is Earl Poole Ball. He was at most of the Johnny Cash concerts, for example in Des moines, Prague and he is also on some studio recordings
I read that Cash never demanded star treatment. All he wanted in is dressing room was a light, sink and mirror. He was even known to give some fans a ride home from some of his shows. True country gentleman.
@DFizzle13 Im with you bro, deep down I am fighting for her love. Ive turned it mostly inside at this point. maybe im crazy but I just think if shes the one she is worth fighting for. its been close to two months now
@ahenage My girlfriend of 1 year, 1 month, and 14 days broke up with me two months ago.....She was my everything...I miss her SO MUCH. MY love for her is still so strong. I know she is the one for me....Holding her was magic...I took some things for granted and now I would kill for those things.
Makes me think of that one ex-girlfriend, but in a good way. Johnny, your impact on music compliments ALL the greats. Woody Guthrie,Pete Seeger,Budddy Holly,Bob Dylan, Elvis,Joni Mitchell and yeah even Nine inch nails etc.
My mother used to play and sing this song to me when I was little. My love and appreciation for Johnny Cash and his music is still great to this day. But greater still is my love for my mother, who blessed me with her renditions of this beautiful song.
My Father was killed in May, 1959 and I was a 10 yr. old girl, a while later in my memories , I can remember palying this song on my Moms record player and missing my Daddy, because this song made my Mommy cry and I'm 60 yrs. old and I'm crying as I write this.
@Irishsheking My Father died from a life of heavy drinking when I was just 8,, He loved Johnny Cash and I always think of him whenever I hear Johnny Cash
