What are we watching and how was it filmed? Who is talking in the soundtrack? It must have been a camera with a powerful tele lens that could automatically track a moving object. The camera's position was such that it could film the impact a couple miles away and pan around the crash site, or was the later footage from a helicopter? Is there any info available?

It was a probe sent up to collect space dust in a collection of chunks or aerogel, the parachute failed to deploy because the small mechanism that was to trigger the release was actualy installed upside down. I bet that guy got fired. But the samples were salvaged and were not totaly wasted.

Well, in my mind it was definitely "unidentified" until I was able to identify it. So, in a sense, to some for a short while, it is a UFO.

It looks more to me like a return capsule of some mission. With the round side being the heat shield. I guess it came in a wrong angle and went unstable. The shute didn't open, as they said in the video, so it just fell.. Just my guess
