what a poser...she's a puppet of a record label...how dare she take credit for someone elses songwriting talent...Greenwheel is the talent behind the song not her
@rich52080 FUCK YOU! She always goes out of her way to tell audience she didn't write it. In fact, Greenwheel asked her to do this to help them out. If you had ever seen her in concert, or heard her interviews you would know this. She even said this at this concert, the uploader just put the performance up. And she is NO puppet of a record label, you don't know shit about her! She has sold twenty-seven million albums worldwide and won a Oscar! Go suck her dick, HA!
@melissaetheridge1988 I agree that she doesn't take credit, but Greenwheel didn't ask her to do this. Greenwheel actually didn't know about this until they heard it on the radio (I've heard this from them). However, they were paid well and aren't upset about this, as she does this well. If anything, they're mad at Island Records for not pushing their record as well.
i freaking love this, you can tell at some points shes totallylost in the music then realises shes in front of folk and islike hiya thenlost in the song again...love it!
I'm looking for a song of hers, the lyrics kinda go 'I want to drive a car with one headlight, a bartender named Fred? and something about a carnival.Any help would be much appreciated! Just need the title. Thanks!
@mundanejane550 Howdy, Just came across this, you may already have the answer, but just in case you haven't. The Song you are referring to is "Áll The Way To Heaven' from the album ''Your Little Secret''. cheers.
The song she sang that was about her father was actually "The Letting Go". If you read her book, it explains alot of her life in there. As a fan as well as a fellow musician, I respect her and love her music. I do suggest it. Its a good book. As good as any of her songs really... Keep it up Mrs.Etheridge.
Just an FYI--this song is actually a cover. It was originally done by a group called GreenWheel. The only reason I ever knew about their version is because it was featured on Smallville. Then, about 2 years alter, I hear this on the radio and go--hey! It's that one song! Personally, I think both are great versions, but Melissa's voice lends an amazing power to it.
I stand corrected. I meant to say that she sang it because of her father.
It was written in 2002 by Ryan, Marc, Andrew, Douglas & Brandon. The part where she gave props for the song had slipped my mind. She did say she usually doesn't like to do others work, but this song was special and she had to sing it.
