  • Thats what I'm talking about. Nice Marshall tone.

  • Is there a difference between the '81 (for exemple) 2203 and the '84 2203 VERTICAL INPUTS?

  • Love the modded tone from 800's

  • how loud were you playing this? sounds a little quiet

  • M8 ! You are awesome

  • do you have both the 4.7k and 10k resistor solder together or is there a spot next to the 10k resistor i've read about some of these mods but never tried them

  • The 4.7k resistor is in parallel with the 10k. I just tied it together because I wanted to test it quickly. I've since removed that mod.

  • hey man i think this one might be an '82 or '83 head cause i dont think the '84's have vertcal inputs..but i could be wrong

  • '84 is a transition year. The serial number is '84. This has the all black top handle instead of the gold plated corners.

  • Awesome sound!

  • awesome sounding JCM 800 bro ..It does sound warmer cause Marshall stock Jcm 800 even the Reissue are brighter sounding and lack the gain...You got the brown sound bro =)

  • Great demo dude.

What's your preamp and master set to?

  • Monster instrument cable, no effects, guitar is a 57 Gibson Goldtop Reissue Les Paul. The Marshall has been biased for EL34s from 6550s (just too loud), and the capacitors (470 pF and the .001 uF on preamp volume) have been removed (warms the sound a little bit). The cathode resistor on the preamp volume tube was changed to a 4.7k resistor in parallel with the original 10k (for more gain). The cab is a 1983 Marshall 1960B with the 65 Watt Celestions.
