Forever in my thoughts Sheena..and Always in my Heart.x

  • I saw Darts at Mallory Park at a Radio One day out in the late 70's. I used to go to all their concerts. Saw them at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, Hammersmith Odeon 2 nights on the trot and other places that I can't remember now. Absolutely fab band wish they were still touring now. Oh what memories

  • love coming on u tube and getting lost in the 70s great thanks

  • @daisydooker yeah me too can sit for hours watching old songs/clips. Takes u back to a time doesnt it?

  • Amazing band. The could tug your heartstrings like this on the A side, and then have you crying with laughing at Messing Shoes Blues on the flip. Class act.

  • Wow last heard this song at mallory park,Leicestershire in the late 70's

  • @mrrocknrolluk

I also saw them at Mallory park in the late 70's. It was a Radio One day out. It was fab. I saw them all over the country. Could not get enough of them. Wish they were still touring like some of the other groups of their era.

  • Wonderful song, and one that was actually written buy them too. Great video, I remember that TOTP performance, thanks

  • totally agree rockpig, I grew up listening to all of this era of music and you cant beat it

  • all of them had really good voices, and then you get the shit that comes out of X factor, dos'nt make sence does it

  • This was my favourite of Darts&in my opinion-was their best,Even tho I loved them all.

The 70s produced some of the best music ever-that much so-I used to buy at least 6 singles Every week-and Ive still got Every one.

Which leads me to say this-"If I could choose to live my life in Any time period,I wouldnt change a single thing,Cos the 70s were The Best"

  • how fabulous is this... i adored darts in my youth...... happyer times in the 70s eh? :).... you sorta get lost in the music.. and you dont wanna come back :)

  • the enthusiasm of all these band members is really top stuff

  • thank you for posting ...WHAT A GROUP A M A Z I N G

  • Great band, and Kenny and Den were brilliant, but who is the best lead singer? Griff, Bob or Rita?...... Bob Fish for me, just.

  • Great song! But what about a 16 year old Tony Blackburn introducing it on TOTP?

  • WOW !

A lovely blast from the past,i mind pinching my mums LP..The Amazing Darts(on the cover the group were all draped over Huge letters of their name)

  • Ahh those memories...great days!

  • Johnny Boy was captivated by this...a cult song from the 70s. Darts were so coooool!!

  • den heggertey a legend of bizzare facial expressions, darts had 6 uk top 10 hits in the space of 2 years yet remain one of the most if not the most underated and un quoted uk bands of all time,

  • this IS classic seventys, used to blast this out when i wer a lad.. fan bloodytastic...

  • Great Classic

  • reminds me of my summer holiday in 1978...simpler times...

  • bob, griff, rita, and den-did any other band have better vocalists...the answer is no!!,such a shame.these guys should have been MASSIVE.years later there was almost a identical group called buddy curtess and the grasshoppers, but i cant seem to get much on them.i remember seeing a new vrsion of the flying pickets, ehich seemed to have the same lead vocalist with buddy curtess.great stuff all the same.excuse the spelling im waffleing now!!!!!

  • i am so wantin to be there in that era any one feel the same

  • Oh God I wish!!!!!!!! Im there buddy!

  • Saw these guys a couple of times as a young lad back in Halifax, Yorkshire (I live in California now). Den Hegarty was a fucking nut. Amazing vocals. I thought maybe 30 years later it's sound cheesy but it's still a beautiful song. Still love the bit where Griff Fender chimes in at 2:31. Cheers. You Tube rocks!

  • Absolute class. Anyone got the chords worked out?

  • yeah...fuckin' A!

  • nope all fuckers agree with you hahahahhaha

  • good reply mate...

  • God this brings back some good memories, reminds me of J.D,from Priesthill.way back in 1978.

  • it takes me back.where are they now??

  • One of my songs of all time! first group i seen live! are they still around? let me no id luv to see them again

  • the singer looks like the guy from the pet shop boys, chris

  • From exactly 30 years ago this month, and one of the best singles of that year IMHO.

And as I recall, that summer was just as wet as this one!

I Saw Darts live at Bedford in 1984.

  • I've read on the net that the lead singer here also played one of the leading roles in Blakes' 7, which would have started the same year as this, as far as I can tell. Is this correct or just an urban myth?

  • Where ever did you read that??? Can you post the link please!! As far as I am aware the wonderful Bob Fish was never in Blakes 7. Although I do remember Steven Pacey playing the part of Tarrant in the show. Steven is a great singer in his own right, and played roles in West Side Story and Leave Him to Heaven!

  • Hello doowop, after a lot of checking it turns out it's nonsense - caused only by the fact that Michael "Vila" Keating and Bob Fish had a passing resemblance, and that they were on television at the same sort of time!!! Ludicrous!

  • Hi Flametop

(lol), yeah a passing resemblance indeed!!!

Might have been fun to see Bob in some of the Blakes Seven garb though!!!

Absoloutely love this song by the way!!

  • Yes, anything Darts did seemed to be pretty magical, they just seemed to have a way of making things come alive!

  • Yes indeed.

They had a brilliant stage act. Love most of their material, but the fav. has to be 'Dont Let it Fade Away', another superb Bob lead!!

  • Comment removed

  • a superb track should be rereleased and let the youth of today know what real music is

  • Trific..

  • loved darts great memories lol

  • Used to get pissed in my mates house in the early 80's and he used to play this, the only darts track I liked. He drowned a few years ago on the Island of Arran - Scotland, just when he was getting his life back together. R.I.P.Mate. He never did have much luck.

  • Saw then years ago at a Radio 1 road show - wicked!!!!!

  • Only a small handful of tickets left to see DARTS on Sat 12 July at The 100 Club, London.

See 'amazingdarts' site for more info!!!

  • love it.

  • Something about this track. all my memories of my first love.smile smile smile.

  • Awesome song fantastically sung

  • Want to see them perform this live... well you can, Darts are doing another gig at The 100 Club. Oxford St, London - 12 July (next day (13th) at The Americana Festival, Notts).

I went to the ones last Nov & Dec and they were awsome! Still got the famous tight harmonies and the band were 'amazing'. The gigs were all sold out so don't delay if you want a ticket - book now!

See.... 'amazingdarts' site for more info!

Oh yeah - Den is still MAD!!!

  • sounds just as good as it did back then... xlnt band... thanks for posting it....

  • Tremendous harmonies Great song

  • Next to Daddy Cool this one is a good sing along...Classic Darts.....how many of you have hit that high note on "Crying"...?

  • Was this Den's last recording with the band ?

  • It was the last single he appeared on yes.

  • Always loved this song ,if a Mowtown group had done it ,it would be considered a classic but the Darts had a great soulful sound as well as their more 50,s doo wop stuff.Probally their greatest moment

  • luv this song it sounds like honey slippin off a silver spoon dipped in dew

  • RSLICKER that's very poetic of you! I've just looked at your 'Favourties' and you've got some classics on there.

  • First band I ever saw - 1977 Newcastle City Hall -age 11

  • doesn't get much better than this! brilliant.

  • I always come back to this one too.lovely measured vocals.real emotion in the song.

  • anyone know if darts are coming to scotland soon

  • DARTS are live at 100 club london on JULY 12th not June.................

  • Went to see them at the 100 club in November, they were amazing, as good as in the 70's if not better. Heard they're there again in June, can't wait.

  • the xmas song was white christmas and it only made the lower reaches of the charts (no 43 I think). I have a copy of the video but it is of poor quality and not complete. I'll have another look at it as it is crazy!

  • isnt that rocky sharpes video ur talkin bout

  • fabulas..does anyone remeber the xams no1 they had all dressed as snowmen

more so...does anyone have a copy

  • they had 3 number 2 hits in a row - this was one of them .Shame they didnt hit number 1
