so many memories of Darts absolutely loved them, got tickets to see them for my then 15th birthday at Edinburgh Playhouse, turned up only to find it cancelled, end of the world at that age .....thanks would love to see them perfom
I Loved this group, every single they made was a hit for me..but This one runs deep,it reminds me of a girl..a girl that slipped thru my fingers..and This was our song..
and every time I hear it the memories come flooding back..along with the regrets.
Forever in my thoughts Sheena..and Always in my Heart.x
I saw Darts at Mallory Park at a Radio One day out in the late 70's. I used to go to all their concerts. Saw them at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, Hammersmith Odeon 2 nights on the trot and other places that I can't remember now. Absolutely fab band wish they were still touring now. Oh what memories
Amazing band. The could tug your heartstrings like this on the A side, and then have you crying with laughing at Messing Shoes Blues on the flip. Class act.
I also saw them at Mallory park in the late 70's. It was a Radio One day out. It was fab. I saw them all over the country. Could not get enough of them. Wish they were still touring like some of the other groups of their era.
Its a re run of totp from around 20 yrs ago recorded on vhs so what do you expect!! have a look at seventh heaven channel where there is a much better recording
how fabulous is this... i adored darts in my youth...... happyer times in the 70s eh? :).... you sorta get lost in the music.. and you dont wanna come back :)
den heggertey a legend of bizzare facial expressions, darts had 6 uk top 10 hits in the space of 2 years yet remain one of the most if not the most underated and un quoted uk bands of all time,
bob, griff, rita, and den-did any other band have better vocalists...the answer is no!!,such a shame.these guys should have been MASSIVE.years later there was almost a identical group called buddy curtess and the grasshoppers, but i cant seem to get much on them.i remember seeing a new vrsion of the flying pickets, ehich seemed to have the same lead vocalist with buddy curtess.great stuff all the same.excuse the spelling im waffleing now!!!!!
Saw these guys a couple of times as a young lad back in Halifax, Yorkshire (I live in California now). Den Hegarty was a fucking nut. Amazing vocals. I thought maybe 30 years later it's sound cheesy but it's still a beautiful song. Still love the bit where Griff Fender chimes in at 2:31. Cheers. You Tube rocks!
I've read on the net that the lead singer here also played one of the leading roles in Blakes' 7, which would have started the same year as this, as far as I can tell. Is this correct or just an urban myth?
Where ever did you read that??? Can you post the link please!! As far as I am aware the wonderful Bob Fish was never in Blakes 7. Although I do remember Steven Pacey playing the part of Tarrant in the show. Steven is a great singer in his own right, and played roles in West Side Story and Leave Him to Heaven!
Hello doowop, after a lot of checking it turns out it's nonsense - caused only by the fact that Michael "Vila" Keating and Bob Fish had a passing resemblance, and that they were on television at the same sort of time!!! Ludicrous!
Used to get pissed in my mates house in the early 80's and he used to play this, the only darts track I liked. He drowned a few years ago on the Island of Arran - Scotland, just when he was getting his life back together. R.I.P.Mate. He never did have much luck.
Want to see them perform this live... well you can, Darts are doing another gig at The 100 Club. Oxford St, London - 12 July (next day (13th) at The Americana Festival, Notts).
I went to the ones last Nov & Dec and they were awsome! Still got the famous tight harmonies and the band were 'amazing'. The gigs were all sold out so don't delay if you want a ticket - book now!
Always loved this song ,if a Mowtown group had done it ,it would be considered a classic but the Darts had a great soulful sound as well as their more 50,s doo wop stuff.Probally their greatest moment
the xmas song was white christmas and it only made the lower reaches of the charts (no 43 I think). I have a copy of the video but it is of poor quality and not complete. I'll have another look at it as it is crazy!

This was my favourite of Darts&in my opinion-was their best,Even tho I loved them all.
The 70s produced some of the best music ever-that much so-I used to buy at least 6 singles Every week-and Ive still got Every one.
Which leads me to say this-"If I could choose to live my life in Any time period,I wouldnt change a single thing,Cos the 70s were The Best"
