I've tried others like Unity, DirectX Studio, GameStudio... the list goes on. The bottom line is that programming your own engine is the best way to go.
If the engine is very fast and flexible, chances are you'll have to suffer from no documentation.
Writing your own version of something that "acts" as an engine is way less gay than writing something gay like an engine, or using engines that bring not enough help.
Amazing job on your own windowing system. I'm curious how you actually specify what you want to appear on each window. Do you use text files that specify what appears? Do you have some form of visual interface for placing textboxes/checkboxes/sliders, etc? Well, onto part 2, maybe I'll find out =)
@HythlothCoder I'm not talking about codding part in my videos, but since you're curious. Everything is done with C++ through singleton class that serves as user interface. There are functions that allow creation/destruction of objects, once you create an object it will be in circulation until you destroy it. (System is updating every frame. ) You can modify the object as long as it exists. You can access any object through unique ID or pass a pointer/reference to it.
You are one beautiful Guy i ever seen as programer :D

Game engines are a pain in the ass.

Write games raw.
