Interesting video. Found this because BDSS is coming to my city and I wanted to know more about Sabah and/or belly dance/ballet fusion. I see this video was posted in 2008. I was wondering if you have continued to work on pieces in this kind of fusion or was this performance a one-off? Please let me know if it would be OK to talk to you about belly dance/ballet fusion in private message, I'd like to do a piece and would like to ask you questions if you don't mind.

La danza del vientre no tiene nada que ver con el baile clásico. Esta fusión es desnaturalizar la esencia de la danza árabe.

es cierto que la danza arabe es mas bien salvaje y terrenal, bien al piso, pero por ahi, en mi caso, me gusta ver a una chica que hizo clasico, por que le da esa sutileza y eso lo armoniza, pienso yo.

es dificil hacer una fusion de una danza tan afro como la arabe con una tan sutil y delicada como el ballet, pero para mi, esta esta bien.

de todos modos se aprende de las distintas opiones, para eso estamos jajaja :D

Fascinating and original. My only problem with it is that bellydancing is more about curves and ballet tends to be more about angles.

In my opinion (not that the suggestion is to go and start taking lessons unless you want to) is that the Indian dance form of Kathak would perhaps be more suited to a ballet fusion.

Very elegant, great job. I like bellydance without the ballet better though, but that is just my opinion. To me it just looks kind of wierd together. But still excellent dancing.
