There's NO side badge at 0:11, but if you look closely at the long shot between about 0:27 and 0:33, it seems to have magically appeared!!! It's a 1200, but not sure what year. Flasher switch indicates later 1200. I've had six so far, including my current '72 convertible and my new 343 coupe. Currently looking for another 143 coupe so I will have a complete set! From what you can see of her, the young lady driving looks very elegant - as it should be. She can ride with me anytime.
@PAMAROSHOUSE at 0:37 they show the left side of the car -- there NEVER was any badge on the left side. HOWEVER, now that I view it again with a higher resolution monitor, I believe I can see the side badge on the passenger side during the long shot between 0:27 & 0:33.
I own a 1974 Karmann Ghia that I bought brand new. Time to start lying about my car's age! "Bliss" only has 177,000 on her. I was a daily driver until 8 years ago. Everyone identifies me with her. She is Olympic Blue and still looks like new. Living in Phoenix helps and I still drive her all year round. Bought her for $3,800 and is now worth $12,000. No, "Bliss" is not for sale!
Very nice... Almost makes me want to dig my ghia out from the back of the garage where it has been sitting for 15 years... (73 Coupe) ... Soon, very soon....
@LICDbeachbum too bad VW didn't stick with this one. other than the new beetle, i don't really like their current lineup for the States. it seems like other countries got more interesting models.
@Farricelli Actually, they had a "NEW" Ghia prototype at the auto show some 10 years ago.... but it never materialized into a production vehicle. I'd buy if they ever made another
"I'd like to buy one, pleeeeeeeease...!!! and not just a 'Sims 2' version or a Matchbox model of it..." (which i have, pitifully enough aarrrgggghhh!!!)
Cool. Nice job!
