It was Nick Mason, look at the shirt, it is the same as when Nick was drumming in 4:16. Also nick was not on drums at the time 1:36, Waters was taping the symbol though. Also according to my knowledge, the last time Waters ever saw Syd was after there argument during the "do you get it" recording
The 9 dislikes can only be from those who say "I have all the Pink Floyd albums - both of them."........ or those who say "I hate Pink Floyd because of their one-and-only song that attacks education." ;) [of course, for those who don't know, they had at least 14 studio albums, and Another Brick in the Wall was *not* an attack against education - it's part of a story.]
2 Cool! tyvm! And for those of you who don't know it, Waters was an asshole! I believe he has matured but he sure did not do Pink Floyd Fans fairly. Quite frankly, as a Pink Floyd fan? GILMOUR IS THE MAN!
(btw, I'll as my hubby, bet he knows what kind of guitar) (^*^)
@stewerts400000000000 Yes but they do more or less the same jam in some long length live versions of embryo, in the middle of the song. For example I remember a 27 minutes version of embryo, that they are doing the same thing.
@SourDiesel25 ye i know lsd is man made.discovered by professor hoffman while looking for a cure for migrains.i just think its like a dream doing it.i know its not wot there made of.
i also think its funny that somebody decided to splash the color pink all over the set. I bet theres not a single member of the band thats a fan of that color. I bet its like in Have a Cigar "and by the way, which ones pink?". one of those deals where production ppl don't know where the name PF comes from.
wow, in the first minute or 2 there was a "friday the 13th" kinda sound, and i'm pretty damn sure the first friday the 13th movie came out well after 71. freaky. i know its not a flattering comparison for such a great group, but i wonder if the sound was kinda copied from them for the movie.
@theillfrisch1 you can convert this video along with all others to mp3. go to vidtomp3.com. its awesome, you just type in the url of the video and then it converts it to mp3 and you can download it to your computer all for free. i know im downloading this video! haha
@BrokenChair88 yeah man totally. hahaha i don't see why people get so pissed off just because you write little comment on every floyd video saying the same thing. i mean its just a comment lol. its not like your saying "pink floyd sucks" or something like that
Something tells me they used parts of this song to form Echoes from the Meddle album. I'm always on the hunt for any tracks the Pink Floyd produced because I don't have a favourite Pink Floyd track or album as to be honest I like every sound they make with their instruments.
@MrNINTENDOJOE Yeah I agree. They changed without Syd, but still kicked total butt with David Gilmore. However when Roger left, that was the end of "Pink Floyd" as I knew them. Truly it was the "Final Cut."
Very good perfomance but the music doesn t catch me, notice some kind of a man call syd isn t there, something it s not complete, lack spark, forgives since we know floyd are genius without discussion. LOVE FLOYD!
Once Roger's bass line kicks in this song goes from trippy to kickass, but it does it gently, sneaks up on you. I know Roger's not considered the best bass player in the world, but I can't imagine anyone putting a better, smoother line to this tune. No need for fancy playing here, just rock-solid jazzy rythm, with the rest of the band carrying us into another world.
why does everyone say artsy artsy making them sound crzy they were musicaly talented and all about the music whatever sounded nice they played they didn't try to see depth in a pointless painting
just noticed that at about 3:00 mason is under the piano top raking the piano strings.that explains alot of pink floyd studio sounds ive wondered about.
Yea this coming from a KISS fan,the hottest band in the world who have sold millions of records, are still selling out arenas and rocking as hard as ever. No one can or ever will be able to top a KISS concert.. Greatest rock show on earth.
@NismoDJ20 Rush is a great band without a doubt. Very talented musicians & I own most of their cd's & have seen them live on two occasions & they were excellent but their concerts in no way top a KISS show. Floyd always put on a great concert & I could never say a bad thing about all the times I saw them live.
But Floyd relied mainly on their huge circular backdrop screen among a few other special effects like the giant pigs, flying plane & of course the giant wall they erected & tore down during the Wall tour. All great stuff without a doubt. However a KISS concert is like no other concert. There's the makeup, the costumes, the spitting fire, drooling blood, smashing of guitars, levitating drum riser, smoking guitar, fireworks, confetti, and on and on.
There's confetti??? O - M - G !!! I am soooo becoming a KISS fan right away. I'm going to paint a big black star right across my tushy and I'm going to rock like there's no tomorrow! Yeah!
I hate to admit it but your comment was pretty funny. But I suggest you go to a KISS show and then get back to me and let me know if you found it entertaining and had a good time.
@miepdetruus That must have been screw you? Not sure what that means but anyway..So you like guys but don't like guys that wear makeup. Now I get your point. And by the way your need to say screw KISS in the 1st place is sort of stupid considering both KISS and Pink Floyd are my favorite bands. But apparently you didn't read all of my comments on this post praising Floyd and a few other bands.
But with that said I've also been a huge Floyd fan since I was a little six year old kid, thanks to an older brother and cool parents. Bought all the records as soon as they came out, then bought them in cassette and then in cd. Saw them in concert six times, own four books on them and my finished basement/bar is adorned with five framed posters.
With all that said I have the right to give my opinion on them whether it be negative or positive. And I'm sure alot of Floyd fans would agree that alot of their earlier stuff was kind of crappy and experimental. In fact the remaining members of Floyd have in different words, said the same type of thing.
By the way, to any guitar players out there who may be interested. There's a really screechy spooky sound (best heard at 4:10 on this cut) that the floyd used to incorporate into their music a lot ( for example on Echoes ) . this sound is achieved by plugging your wha pedal in backwards. as soon as you click it on it emits this horrible shriek which you can control (only slightly ) with the volume and tone knobs on your guitar and with the pedal. then run it through a echo box. a unique sound.
i know there are a lot of ppl out there named steven but still hearin em say it is both eerie an incredibly awesome! at least i hope thats what he is sayin. i;d honestly love to see more footage from the post wall era...thats just me though.
typo, man lol! n u didn't answer my question about finding more footage from the early days of this odyssey of audible literature known as the anthological journey of pink floyd. seen the pompeii stuff, freakin blew my mind n i'd like to just see some more footage like this.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
In my opinion the Floyd are incredibly lazy when it comes to releasing old footage that their fans would drool over. They either do not care about us or they have so much money they don't care about releasing the stuff we would love to see. Why won't they release the Wall live footage we all have seen and we know exists. Even if it is not perfect it would be better than nothing.
That is because Pink Floyd was not highly regarded before The Dark Side of the Moon. They were not taped like The Beatles/ They were an underground band. Yes, they have released the Wall live footage.
It seems like there is more footage of them before Dark Side than after. I have tons of Syd Barret videos but not one Animals concert video. If you know where you can get an official release of the 1979 The Wall concert then please let the rest of the world know where to get it. They released a CD but not a video of the tour.
There was no 1979 Wall concert. The album was released at the end of '79. So the tour was not until 1980-81. Ever hear about Roger spitting at a fan during the Animals tour? Pink Floyd did not make music to please fans.
They you just argued my point. They don't care enough about their fans to release stuff we would drool over.
Also, you said they had released The Wall live on video. I don't think this is true. If it is please let me know where to get it. All I have is a bootleg.
@MMediums i do. You should search for muddy miles. they are my friends and are heavily influenced by early floyd. they are gigging now too. Ill send you a video
@MMediums try bands from other countries like Fromuz do Uzbequistão (CD - Seventh Story - 2010), ou the band The Ressonance Association (CD - Clarity in Darkness - 2010) ou also old bands as Focus (CD - Focus III). They are jazzy, and not so bluesy as Floyd, and also not so creative, but they have great songs in this CDs.

Oh, ok, and you do, How is it possible to "meat" anything, especially a time? not thats theres anything wrong with toking, especially to floyd.

typo, man lol! n u didn't answer my question about finding more footage from the early days of this odyssey of audible literature known as the anthological journey of pink floyd. seen the pompeii stuff, freakin blew my mind n i'd like to just see some more footage like this.

They released a CD but not a video of the tour.
beatle0001 2 years ago
There was no 1979 Wall concert. The album was released at the end of '79. So the tour was not until 1980-81. Ever hear about Roger spitting at a fan during the Animals tour? Pink Floyd did not make music to please fans.

They you just argued my point. They don't care enough about their fans to release stuff we would drool over.
Also, you said they had released The Wall live on video. I don't think this is true. If it is please let me know where to get it. All I have is a bootleg.

Why are you getting negatived feedback when you are 100% correct.. The Wall Live (at least in video) has NEVER been officially released.

Anyone know any bands are creative in this sort of way around in England today?
Floyd 69-72 are massively underrated. So carefree, so artsy...
